If your opinion thats fine, could have been worded better tho.
Anyway I find it hard to avoid that they were going for comedic value in DR2, for example: Red neck stereotypical snipers (scene went on waaaay too long as well) versus standard father and sons snipers in DR1.
If anything I don't think the psychos I've seen so far have been zany enough. Some of them are just like "Whoah, zombies!... My chance to shine! Bwahahahahahaha!" - There are few moments as twisted as the Clown death scene or the lesbian cop threatening sexual abuse with a baton to a bunch of tied up girls in the first game. Many of the psychos are too close to ones from the first game.
The death scene of
the two female co-hosts, one performing seppuku
is downright anticlimactic. I don't know if it was a case of playing it safe, or trying to go for pure gore laughs instead, but there's less engaging psychological motive for them cracking up.
The map also basically feels like another mall. Even when you go outside, it doesn't feel like you're on a Vegas strip, it feel like you're still in a mall. Case Zero actually had a better environment IMO. I agree about the characters too, Stacey is completely blah.
Despite all this nitpicking, the gameplay overall is better, and it's all just as much fun as the first game, probably more so because the survivors aren't an annoyance, they can help you out and it feels great having a group of survivors tagging along without you constantly babysitting them.

The problem might be that they nailed the feel of the first game so perfectly, that despite the new setting it feels like the same place. I agree, 95% of it felt like playing in a mall. Not nearly enough was done with the casino idea.
And yeah, Case Zero had the better setting. It was another suburban environment, but it looked different, and the fact that it didn't occur inside some kind of massive shopping center set it apart.
I had them in the locker a while back, but I've looked again and I don't have them now. I suspect this is a save/load issue as I've had a couple other mis-haps after saving/loading.
Anyone know why I can't rescue the girl captured by Antoine? I knocked him out, she wants Jasper. Where's Jasper? I look up he's suppose to be on a roof, I'm on that roof - he's not here? She still wont follow me.

In the food court there's like a different shack across from where Antoine was, use some vending machine on the left to jump up on it and rescue that duder .
Finally had some time to sit down and finish this. At least up until Overtime. Man, drop kick is no joke. I pretty much used it over and over again at the last boss...
Question regarding Overtime:
If you don't give TK Zombrex, do you get a different ending and no Overtime?

I keep reading that the drop kick is the miracle weapon against TK, but I can't seem to ever land it, Chuck literally just goes straight through him, then gets hit as he's getting up.
Am I supposed to be doing it at a specific time, or during one specific animation that TK does because I haven't landed a single one yet?
Edit: Fuck the drop kick, I just used the leadpipe and drill that are on the upper level, a few hits and he runs off, use the winch till he comes back, let him hit you off it, so he starts talking, then melee until he runs off again, repeat. I didn't need a single health item.

It slips off Katey's shoulder in that scene and he goes back to get it, but you are right. Still you never see Chuck die on camera so it is unknown what happens to him.

Towards the end of the story, does it make any difference if you give
zombrex to T.K.?
I did it but I was just wondering if it lead to a different ending or something.
Just beat the game. Loved it, even though there were many times I was supremely frustrated. So much fun though when it's going right.
Question: If I already beat DR2, is there any real reason to go back and buy Case Zero?
Also, I played DR 1 briefly but couldn't get past the save system, but am now looking forward to giving it another try. Anyone go back to DR1 after playing DR2? If so, how did it hold up?
Not to mention I'm looking forward to Case West. Damn, DR got it's hooks in me pretty good. :lol

The game wants to you fight him hand to hand.
When he staggers, you can defile, or use whatever weapon you choose. Grab the hand to hand magazine to help yourself out. its in the first floor book store in royal flush plaza.
Also has anyone put on the new sports pack shoes. They make you run faster. They also let you drink alcohol indefinitely and act as another gambling book.
The machete special animation is glorious. I cant wait for the ninja pack.
I really didn't think the characters were anything special in DR1, Frank has very little pesonality or development other than "covering wars". The Psychos were more interesting in DR1 though.
Overall I prefer Chuck's character for at least having some drive and motivation. Loving the game so far, the little refinements everywhere make this a more enjoyable game so far.
the hot curvie agent made first dead rising great. Also isabella and her brother had pretty good motivation. You also fought her brother multiple times which really made you hate him.
Slowly working my way through all those collection trophies, just got "finally full", stupid pineapples, I always used them in drinks but never actually ate one, apparently.

That and the fact he doesn't run like some sort of retarded ape.
there is a skateboard book that makes it last 3 times longer and gives you a jump. i had it once before. I think the sport outfit also makes you run faster and give bonuses to all sports stuff. dunno if that applies to skate board. Its in the hotel first floor somewhere.
The whole co-op book stacking makes me really want some coop friends. i want a battle axe or katanas to last 27 times longer.
I know there are, but they break just by hitting two zombies!!!!!!!! And i haven't found a magazine that gives them more durability like the "Entertainment" book in DR1

I never burned money in the fire and I have all the combo cards.
Are you saying burning money gives you a combo card? Is it what the fortune teller normally would?

I got the fortune teller combo card first, then another one from burning money. Don't remember what it was but I definitely got one.
May be possible that I leveled up after gaining the "stupidity bonus" and that's what triggered the card :lol
I don't remember if I actually leveled up or not, but I remember a combo card popping up and assuming it was from burning money, similar to the fortune teller card.
Tape it or Die side missions. Though upon further investigation there's not much to it. Just make sure you rescue/kill the 3 unmarked poker players in Atlantica, grab the 3 body guard women from the pool area, get the hungry guy from the restaurant and then pop down to the South plaza for the WWJD mission and pick up the survivor hiding nearby. Do that before 6am day 3 and you shouldn't have any trouble.
