Dead Rising 3 created "to go after the Call of Duty player"

When I was watching the game footage, I was pretty impressed by the scope of the game. Then I saw the player get into a car, and I realized it was just going to be an open world game with zombies. It's weird how my perception of the game changed so quickly, but my hype was deflated.

Now, this quote has destroyed any remaining interest I might have had in DR3.

I already knew this was the case when the car mechanic called in a fucking air strike. :|

It was at that point that I lost all interest in the game.

New gen. Same mistakes as the old gen.

Yep but it was used games that were this issue lol. I am sure since it is a launch game it will sell so dead rising 4 will be another COD like game. It just pisses me off every fucking game is turning into COD bullshit. I have a PS4 on pre-order maybe it is time to say fuck it and quit. I hate COD and the clones with a passion. I can't imagine a while generation of COD COD COD.

Oh btw way fuck you Capcom!

i personally home this game flops ONLY because this is the only reason i want a XBONER currently. Hearing this news, turns me off even more. THANK YOU!

The funny thing is, companies chase this "CoD crowd" as if it's just a demographic yearning to throw money away on as many games as fit its apparently narrow (in the publishers' eyes) aesthetic and functional requirements. But if the Bioshock Infinite story was any indication, these same players have little to no awareness of series outside of Call of Duty and are thus unprepared to make a transition from one franchise into another.

People don't follow trails that you don't lay out, Capcom.

What I saw looked fun, I don't care...

I agree.
I liked the 'survival' element of the guy running through the neighborhood, climbing to roofs, breaking into houses via skylight, etc. There seemed to be a good sense of tension.

Too bad I won't be playing it, as I am passing on the X1. :(

Why are people so upset about a game on a system they aren't interesting in buying? I didn't like the change in art direction and tone, but that looked like a Dead Rising game to me.

icant @ this

Chasing the CoD crowd is basically the death knell for any franchise that's not CoD. CoD players buy and play CoD, THEY DON'T WANT YOUR WEAK ASS IMITATION.
Get a clue, developers.

Lol

more serious?
more 'visceral'?
more cod money hungry?

Good luck Capcom, DR had a good run. I think all in all the first game is probably still the best.

Only thing I like gritty is my sandpaper, stop this practice game industry. I'm grittied out.

I hope people vote with their wallets.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

The game looks good but it certainly seems to be missing the charm and silliness of the first two. Very disappointing.

They're gonna alienate their existing fanbase, and the COD fanbase won't jump onboard because the previous games alienated them already.

You know, just like what happened with -insert a million different fucking failed attempts here-

BUT YEAH CAPCOM YOU'RE DEFINITELY GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME.

They player base that's like a tenth of CoD's, if that?

Yep and we are loyal just like the COD crowd. People who play COD are not going to play this when they could play COD. So in the end the loyal followers are out and the COD crowd will ignore it.

So stupid. What's the point of going after the Call of Duty crowd? Are they expecting to sell like 15-20 millions of copies or something?

I'm not surprised though, Dead Rising 2 wasn't really playing in the same league as the first one, but at least they did their best trying to keep the Japanese quirks, but in the end it was easy to tell it was a western developed game.

Look of the game is pretty bland now, but I am all for the lack of time constraint. Hated that about the first game and it kept me away from the second.

You know how games often force you to wiggle the stick when enemies grab you? Well, in Dead Rising 3, you can shake your arms to get them off
Because shaking your analog sticks to get rid of enemies grabbing you wasn't annoying enough.

Thank christ PS4 doesn't come with a camera so I don't have to tolerate gimmicky shit like this.

Because they like (or liked) the series itself and they dislike the direction in which it seems to be going.
