I think I might've seen her in a commercial years ago. But I knew about her before I started watching Homeland, though I was a couple of years late on that train.

Never watched Firefly, though I want to. Sci-fi usually isn't for me, unless it's done really well, and apparently it's actually great.
You'd probably like Firefly then.

Anyone else feel like the movie wasn't that good?

I mean, it was funny and some of the action was good, but I don't see why everyone's raving about it.

Maybe I'm just burned out on superhero movies.

Good flick, but it had one of the gaffes I absolutely hate.
When Deadpool arrives home, he has his katanas on his back despite losing them on the overpass. The camera shifts away from him, and when it shifts back they're gone.
That kind of shit makes my eye twitch every time.

If it hasn't already been confirmed, I hope there's a sequel. Now that all the origin story stuff is out of the way it would be fun to just watch a foul-mouthed smartass go on a stupid superhero adventure.

Yeah I didn't think it was that good either. My sister didn't think it was good. My date thought it was okay. Over hyped as hell.

Jokes were funny and Deadpool is great but outside of that, everything was average.

So was there any reason why colossus was in his metal form the entire time? By what he sounded like, he was completely dubbed, I cant help but think the CGi wasent used to cut down on budget.

Y'know, I don't think I've read a single Deadpool comic. But I was just searching the internet and this...

... managed to get a chuckle out of me.

I won't be able to see the film for at least a week so maybe an issue or two can keep me entertained.

This is great

I think it's very good for what it is. It isn't 'that' good but everyone's raving about it because it's a vicious little black action comedy marketed well with a decent star as an entry point in a superhero dressing.

We've been starved of this kind of mass marketed film, or at least experience them on a less regular basis than decades of old. I think it would have met much less hyperbolic reactions in the 70's / 80's when violent, black humoured sweary action revenge romps were more common.

Its still very good though for what it sets out to do.

Original actor didn't want to reprise the role. So they made a comic accurate version.

Deadpool is a sign of a sin-sick culture where evil wins over good.

I'm hardly anti-religious (actually religious myself), but some of the reactions from shocked and offended parents and super-religious folk have been hysterical to read.

Spoilers: Deadpool is not a superhero. He's an anti-hero. Poor misguided folks who took their kids to see the film and thought he was just an X-men version of Spider-man are in for a rude awakening.

What exactly was the "good" in this film that Deadpool's "evil" won over?

Actually he turned it down because it was always planned as fully CG with a dub. My guess is they wanted him to be like 8 feet tall and didn't want to bother showing what that looked like in human form or bother with some LotR camera tricks. Even the huge mocap guy had a tennis ball about a foot above his head for eye level reference.

Finally saw it, was too tired to be overexcited by it, thought it was really great, like really really great, but not super awesome like i thought, maybe becuase i was tired or need to see it again, but still a very solid movie.

I don't know what, but i felt like something was missing, but thats fine because of small budget, the fact that is a semi introduction movie etc will give them time to do him a even more awesome sequel.

On first viewing 7.5/8 out of 10 chimmichangas

I feel that when we get the harder bluray version my score will go to a 8/8.5

Some awesome concept art for Deadpool and Negasonic

And just like in Deadpool, Baccarin plays a
hooker.

Enjoyed the movie, it was pretty good but not top tier amazing. Compared to most comic films, though, it's fcking Citizen Kane.

i like the first 3 negasonic concept arts more than the final version (her haircut was fine though). that shit would have been cool. a bit too risque though and i suspect some people would cry about it not looking like an xmen uniform.

i wish singer went the casual friday route instead of the serviceable but bland uniforms. especially with apoc set in the 80s it would have been tight to see nightcrawler fighting in a thriller jacket.

Probably the most true comic book movie I've seen yet. Not only did they nail Deadpool, but they nailed Colossus. I'm super excited for the sequel. Cable & Deadpool? Count me in. Hopefully, they keep color in their movies. I can't stand the black outfits in X-Men movies.

I'm finally going tonight!

My moviebuddies cancelled the past two times.

Going in with zero expectations, the trailers looked like fun and I love some super(or anti-)movies.

Couple of buddies and I just saw this. None of us know hardly anything about Deadpool but typically enjoy Marvel movies. We all laughed and had a great time. It was a refreshing new spin on the typical movie of this genre. Can't believe its it's doing this well but I'm happy we contributed.

This was me.

I was surprised at how much of it was the origin story, I hadn't watched many of the trailers but I assumed it was gonna be pretty quick since focusing on origin plots is a major complaint with superhero films---the way they broke it up was neat, and it was probably the best part of the film.

Otherwise everything else I felt like I already knew from the trailers, and that's not even paying attention to many of them. The movie had a weird vibe to me---like when he was Deadpool it seemed to try and get very manic, but when he was Wade Wilson it was pretty down to earth. Like this made sense in the flashbacks, but then there were parts post-Deadpool where he was relatively sane as Wade but as soon as he put on the mask went crazy. It felt pretty off-kilter and I wasn't sure what tone the film was going for at times as it jumped between dry humor and manic humor rather quickly, sometimes right next to each other.

The scene for example where Wade goes to the Strip Club is rather down-to-earth and somber yet he's already 'Pool by then, and it never really explains why he acts so crazy as Deadpool. I assume in the comics he's basically always crazy, but here it felt like he just acted crazy but was still technically sane. Maybe that's the point in this canon though.

The movie just didn't leave much of an impression on me ultimately and I really don't care much about the sequel though I'll probably see it eventually.

Just watched it on the movies and I came back home totally surprised!

I was never a big fan of Ryan Reynolds and, for that reason, I wasn't expecting too much, however I think he did a great job in this and I hope Marvel keeps him (please not another Spider Man stuff).

Me and my girlfriend laughed the whole movie and we don't agree with the whole criticism about how much violence or bad sexual references there was, we actually expected something way more heavy by some comments I did read.

For me it was one of (if not the) best Marvel super hero movies. I like them in general, but I always thought they were too "black & white" (pretty and super smart hero that wears an uniform and go defeat the evil in a fairy tale - I imagine that's the comics, but my opinion extends to them if thats the case). This, ant-man and Guardians of the Galaxy were great surprises for me! And I'm looking forward to their continuations!

Rewatched this today. Interesting to see it without a crowd, but still enjoyable. Probably liked it a bit less though.

The score’s underrated though.

I watched it yesterday and couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. It's a non stop joke barrage, like the comics... and it actually works. This Deadpool comes pretty close to a perfect comic to screen adaption. My favorite moments were
his Colossus 'beatdown' (I completely lost it) and the 'you're the inspiration' hallucination... with the song transitioning perfectly to the actual action.
It was all-round awesome. Of course when pretty much every line in the movie is a joke, there's bound to be a few misses, but only a few jokes fell flat for me.

Like others I can't believe they went all-in on this, and gave us the most Deadpool Deadpool we could want. Aaand it's a box office hit. What a time to be alive

... and I'm kinda tempted to buy that Joe Kelly omnibus now.

Finally got around to seeing this this today after seeing bvs on Friday. Thought it as good over all. A little too silly at times but overall good and I laughed quite a bit.

Deadpool was pretty great! I liked it. I thought I recognized the girl from Firefly, but I wasn't sure it was her. She was good in this. I'd like to see it again, maybe even buy the dvd.

I've noticed a few people who didn't like the bad guy, but I thought he was good. I liked his lines and felt he was very menacing.

I posted this in the spoiler thread, but
What happened to the business-man who told Deadpool about the cancer treatment? Did DP kill him?
