They can't afford to pay their bills?

Yeah, but thats only because there isnt any way of actually cheating on assault.Ramirez said:I guess people do this to get their rank up,but what the fuck does that matter when in actuality you suck complete shit at the game?We played the same group of cheaters again last night in Assault/Waterworks and we destroyed them.
Stinkles said:The stupid part is that the rank system is for matching players of even ability - your rank is totally obscure unless you're in the top five, so the cheaters are basically wasting their own time too.
I'm curious - what do the cheaters say in the post game lobby in justification of their cheating?
op_ivy said:i havent played almost at all since before christmas (been super busy), and up till today would have said "stop the bitching, its not rampant". however, i just finished playing 6 or 7 games with dopey, 2 of which had cheaters. that is unacceptable, and may ruin the ranked games for me till its fixed, period.

op_ivy said:yeah, that and training, though training is usually crammed with noobs and/or assholes. its fun trying to up your rank and checking out stats at bungie.net, so its not an easy part of halo 2 to let go.
DJ Brannon said:GOD I'm glad I've had a steady flow of friends in XBC to throw down in Halo 2. Haven't been back on XBL in a while and until Bungie gets with the program I'll likely be staying in XBC land.
Funny, that one of the best ways to play Halo 2 online currently is through a free program. If not for XBC, I'd be pissed.
DJ Brannon said:Yeah there's cheaters there too, but I haven't found anywhere near as many since there's nothing to gain or lose over XBC.
I'm down for that... like, right now!Wario64 said:I guess we could just gather a huge GAF crowd and play custom games instead...at least we'll get to pick our modes and know we aren't gonna cheat
StoOgE said:I havent played Halo 2 online in nearly a month because of it... I have a bad taste in my mouth from Unreal Championship still.
Edit: dont bet on the cheaters getting banned. A) MS wants their money too. B) They arent technically doing anything 'wrong'. They are exploiting bugs that exist within the game, they ARE asshats, but Im not sure MS can ban someone for doing stuff the game lets you do.
That said, its equally enraging when you lose to some cheater and they sit and call you those names. Its like you want to strangle the life out of them. What the fuck motivates people to be such assholes anyway? Trouble getting laid? Nobody loves you? Not enough material possessions? I don't get it. I never will either.

Apparently, cheating requires some coordination. Probably more so than random people doing it....
