Death Stranding 2: On The Beach | State of Play Trailer

Ah yeah right, a me problem, the game is definitely not known for being confusing af. Everyone I know who played it had the same problem lol Maybe it was easier to understand to some people than others, but don't pretend it's not overly complicated for nothing.
There was stuff with sometimes 2 hours of cutscenes where I didn't understand anything, and these 2 hours could be summed up in 4 lines of text, which means there really is a story telling issue.
It wasn't that complicated, it was just cryptic by design. A good mystery keeps you wanting to unravel the story as you go, getting all the answers at once would ruin it. By the end of the game all or most of your questions are answered, and that's the way it should be. If you didn't understand anything it's because you didn't pay attention.

KOJIMA pushing boundaries yet again.

If certain developers had that many resources + money, I'd wonder what versions of games we would see?

Probably the most beautiful, crazy, awesome trailer I've ever seen. Only Kojima can condense so much insane ridiculous ideas and make them so cool at the same time.
And F* Georges Miller !

Tons of info was in the emails that Sam receives from all the preppers as you go along as well. I understand if a bunch of people who played were too lazy to read them, but I read them all and the world is quite easy to understand really. It just takes time to get all the info.

Look, he's fucking nuts… but in a sea of lazy, trite, repetitive, greed fuelled shit, Kojima is one of the only ones still trying to push boundaries, do something new, and remain creatively exciting.

Day one. Because this shit needs supporting.

That looked AMAZING

Holy fuck @ troy baker's GUITAR RAILGUN

Loved the little puppet, that had to be a reference to Mimir from GOW right?

The one note of sadness in all of this, unless Kojima already had something tied up with them before the lead singers death, we are unlikely to hear any music from low roar in this game.

That was a real tragedy. What a singer he was too. I really hope they put in "Bye Bye" from their last album in the game as an ode to Ryan.

yeah I'm surprised they didn't get any of the story. as a matter of fact I can say game constantly overexplained stuff and I was happy with that. i believe the game has its own universe / rules and you just have to be familiar with them to understand what people are even talking about. maybe they didn't pay attention to that so they lost the thread of the story from the start

some people said it looks like alan wake. i never made the connection.

mimir's voice actor is in the game though

Visuals are absolutely bonkers

... But then I watch the villain using a guitar to fight some ninja that sounds like a baby, a ventriloquist dummy that talks, some girl that is "born" from a cocoon and shoots shit from her skin pores and I go like:

I enjoyed Death Stranding despite Kojima's madness. And I'll try my best here, but man ... people shouldnt be afraid of saying "Kojima, this idea is kinda ass". But he probably has only "yes men/women" on his team, 'cause the man has an ego as big as the moon.

I'm a big MGS fan, but I never felt that he was this much crazy with that series. And thats saying something.

I finished the original DS and liked it, but the idea of spending 50 more hours carrying boxes does not exactly fill me with glee.

But I am sucker for Kojima's brand of storytelling insanity so I will no doubt buy this shit when it hits PC.

Absolutely mental…

Kojima often gets on my nerves but it's hard not to appreciate the sheer quality of his work. I don't know if it needed to be such a long trailer but I'm 1000% in.

The rain effects in the evening shot where he's climbing the cliff are crazy good. Looks like a shot from one of the CG adverts for the first game.

This poster broke us inside. Again.

Me and my wife finished DS1 literally with our 5mo son sleeping in our hands (it was kinda comical if you think about taking turns of playing/holding a baby). Ending just broke us.

And new scenes with Lou did it again, dammit.

I will get my Collector's Edition this time too, damn you, Kojima.

I have a question. Does Troy Baker have to be in every game ever? Just wondering.

Aside from that, the game looks fucking amazing. I need to go back and beat the first one. I got like 5 hours in and really enjoyed it but moved on b/c of all the backlogged story games I still had in my queue. I think I'll get to this after I finish Spiderman 2 and FF16.
Considering Higgs is in the first game this isn't a surprise (and we have known since the first teaser that he's in this one)

Hmm. I really liked death stranding but i let out a long sigh when watching this trailer. I really don't feel like trekking cross country again. I enjoyed it when I did it but i dont wanna do it again.

Then you didn't like it if you you didn't like what the game was about.
