I keep going back and forth on playing this. Just never got around to it. I saw mixed feelings, some saying it takes hours to get into. But the new one coming out is pushing me towards playing the first one.I was about to start DS1 in earnest, seems pointless when this is coming out so soon now, I think I'll just jump straight to this
Yeah, that mode is the best one. Played the entire game that way.The "widescreen" (technically letterboxed) mode in the Director's Cut version of the original was fantastic. "Absolute cinema" and fluid 60fps.
As someone who just finished the first game for the 3rd time recently, i think its better saving your energy for 2. With the way the first games story is paced, it just.wastes.time. I'm sure a "previously on" will exist in DS2. Looking at all the gameplay additions, playing 1&2 back-to-back might just bring on fatigue.I keep going back and forth on playing this. I just wrapped the first game (dropped 100 hours in it) -- it's definitely worth it, but you wont be playing DS2 for a while.I keep going back and forth on playing this. Just never got around to it. Kojimbo gonna drop the 10 minute launch trailer soon, but that one im skipping 100%. I watched the launch trailer of the first game after i finished it and ho boy it was full of spoilers

Just don't do what I did and put off the game due to the 'walking simulator' comments. It was one of the biggest lies the gaming community ever said.I keep going back and forth on playing this. I was told its best to get to chapter 3 as soon as possible instead of trying to do side stuff in the beginning.Just don't do what I did and put off the game due to the 'walking simulator' comments. It was one of the biggest lies the gaming community ever said.
They literally give you weapons and increase the enemy types and encounters after Act 1.
There's even someone joking in this thread about Kojima needing to add package thieves when he already added them in the first game.
Yes, because you get the tools to handle the things that were extremely deadly in the beginning of the game and you can go back to that section later on for side content.I was told its best to get to chapter 3 as soon as possible instead of trying to do side stuff in the beginning.

I saw one in the hulu app on my phone like last week. It wasn't like an ad during a video but just the image when resuming the show I was watching.Has anyone seen any marketing on this just out there?

looks as boring and gameplayless as i remember the first one![]()
Doesn't matter. You still don't want to miss the experience of DS1I was about to start DS1 in earnest, seems pointless when this is coming out so soon now, I think I'll just jump straight to this
Nah man, play DS1.I was about to start DS1 in earnest, seems pointless when this is coming out so soon now, I think I'll just jump straight to this
this game has a "previously" option,I was about to start DS1 in earnest, seems pointless when this is coming out so soon now, I think I'll just jump straight to this
this game has a "previously" option,
no need to play it.
Nonsense. Recapping the story doesn't give you the experience of the journeythis game has a "previously" option,
no need to play it.
But playing it is part of the love.
Sure, but I'm speaking from a pragmatic point of view; after 80 hours, I was burnt out on the "videogame".Nonsense. Recapping the story doesn't give you the experience of the journey
Understandable. I won't recommend playing them back to backSure, but I'm speaking from a pragmatic point of view; after 80 hours, I was burnt out on the "videogame".
What's interesting about normal?Seems like the awesome Decima Engine is tied to bland and boring IPs (Horizon) or to IPs ruined by a stupid mechanic (Death Stranding). Can anyone make a normal and interesting game with this engine? So much work and so much talent put to work in the most borings things ever, omg.
Those who are invited for the demo said there is a 60fps mode and it was very good. I do hope for 4k at 60 fps, but if its a stable 30fps in quality mode I will be fine playing quality mode, since I played games like that which did not affect gameplay like SH2 remake, RDR2 and GTA 5. Looks like those with Ps5 pro will benefit allot with higher frame rate and resolution. But the base Ps5 is already well optimize and fantastic. Is there a performance mode option?

You fell and tripped and lost luggae in the first DS. Nothing new here.
Watch a recap and wait for the second one, the risk of burning yourself out is extremely high, the gameplay looks super similar down to the animations, etc.I keep going back and forth on playing this. Just never got around to it. I saw mixed feelings, some saying it takes hours to get into. But the new one coming out is pushing me towards playing the first one.
That could definitely be an option, but I have so much in the backlog, I would probably wait for a good sale on Death Standing 2 anyway.Watch a recap and wait for the second one, the risk of burning yourself out is extremely high, the gameplay looks super similar down to the animations, etc.
Then you can try the game if you find it for cheap, at least you can understand if the gameplay loop is your cup of tea, because believe me, it's not for everyone. That could definitely be an option, but I have so much in the backlog, I would probably wait for a good sale on Death Standing 2 anyway.
