I played Warlock in the alpha and Titan in the beta, and now I don't know which to choose. Maybe I'll just go with Hunter so it's something completely different.

Any advice GAF?

Go Deprived. Always go Deprived...

...but since Destiny doesn't have a Deprived class, go with your favorite of the two you've played since you'll be spending much more time with your character than you did in the alpha/beta. If you didn't have any strong feelings one way or the other, give Hunter a shot.

all I ask for is custom games. So I can screw around with DGAF.

Not happening, that was confirmed a while ago.

Is there any possible way they squeezed in beards for launch?

Given the time period they had between end of beta and gold? In my professional opinion? Nope. Doubt it'd happen in a day one patch either, given the testing they'd have to do etc, also they laughed it off pretty hard at the PAX panel.

I am going to have two copies of Destiny for two different consoles. My wife will play on one and I'm playing on the other. I have the Ghost edition preordered for myself, so I have the expansion pack, but the other copy that comes with the white PS4 doesn't come with the expansion pack. I'll download the expansion material that comes with the Ghost edition to both consoles.

While playing co-op with me, will my wife be able to access the expansion material or is there some DRM thing going on that will prevent her from using it while I am playing?

Edit: Nice pic by the way!

That's a very good question. I wont be much help I'm afraid, but wouldn't the expansion pack be locked to your PSN account? I could be wrong, fell free to correct me anyone, but I think the expansions will be tied to which ever account unlocks them.

I know, right? I missed my calling as a graphic designer.

That makes sense about locking to accounts. That's a bummer.

Wait am I missing something, was it the hula hoop gif that got the withdrawal thread locked?

Cause I get it can be a little risque, but it wasn't NSFW territory, also appreciate not being called an idiot for posting the .gif in which the thread was going to get locked anyway

So yeah, relax

It wasn't you entirely, somebody else in reply to you posted a gif of a girl just shaking her ass in a bikini in front of the camera. And NSFW doesn't just mean pornographic material, usually it means anything that is lewd/sexual. No need to call you an idiot, agreed on that, but it reminds me of the guy in the TGS thread that needed to post the NSFW anime make out thread for no reason other than shock value.

anyone get that email from GameStop about no ghost editions for ps4? a buddy of mine is getting a free reg copy for ps4 and the digital ps3 extras I have no idea why- in lieu of his ghost ps4 preorder-

crazyness.

I will pissed if I get that email. My Gamestop only had one PS4 Ghost Edition and I was lucky enough to get it.

Not really, they differ in acceleration etc as well. Point being, they've said they're against weaponized personal vehicles. But things can change, and it'd be cool if it were something you could earn. As it stands, you can already earn legit superior sparrows via the crucible and vanguard with better durability, speed and even the ability to evade roll, so why not go another step and make an even better one with a weak gun or something. Not as powerful as a pike, but something for the hell of it.

Being able to fire a one-handed weapon from your sparrow (non-boosting of course) would be pretty awesome, in a gta kinda way.

If Sparrow racing doesn't become an official thing, I am cry.

Unfortunately it can't. With no parties bigger than 6, and no custom games, the only way you'd be able to do it is if you have a group of 3 in explore mode and find more people willing to race you. With no voice communication.

Dgaf will make it happen, I know it in my heart!

It seems so strange that Bungie of all people would confirm something like custom matchmaking to not be a thing in their game. They're practically the kings of custom matchmaking!
If Destiny doesn't ever get it, I sure hope Destiny 2 does.

Just graduated to 40's GAF. Which....barely exists, I'm sure. :(

As you know, the Forum has never been able to take a census of the 40sGAF. Everyone thinks that there are but few -- wandering here and there in the discussions.... I suspect an incredible secret has been kept on this website... that the 40sGAF exist in vast numbers... vast numbers... and it is they that control NeoGAF.

Representing 40sGAF with pride!

Just watched the IGN Gamescom video. Some comments from the video:

-Interviewer asked about more game modes such as oddball, and the Bungie guy made it seem like for sure they'd love to add more game types, but that it was their priority to bring the game out with a foundation of solid matchmaking games at first and that they'd be adding more throughout the game's life. My take? Custom matchmaking is not impossible but unlikely, but at least we might get more game types. Funny enough if we had custom matchmaking we could give Bungie ideas for game types, similar to how Zombies and Griffball were created, with the community coming up with these ideas and Bungie later implementing them as official game types.

- Warlocks confirmed to be the right way to play.

You can now activate / redeem those 17 codes + "Emblem: Sign of the Finite" -code [from that planet viewing thing] in your Bungie.net profile.

Codes unlock Grimoire cards, but you can't view them yet.

PS3 only guy here, so I'm very happy to hear the game plays identical for the most part. But I haven't really found much else on the PS3 version at all. Anyone know if there's anything to be wary of? I do not care about the shadows/textures and whatever else graphically the PS3 cannot handle, just wondering if I'm truly good to go with the PS3 version from what we know so far?

If you get a ps4 later, your characters transfer from the ps3

bungie seems to have stressed that destiny can be updated in much more meaningful ways then other bungie console games have been in the past (halo) and that the game will be expanded upon considerably based on how people play the game and what people want from the game. i dont think a custom game mode is out of the question, in fact i too expect it down the road (maybe within a year?).
along with beards

also, oddball equivalent is always fun. or just steal halo 4's ricochet!
