I have not maxed out either subclass and I just got an Exotic Bounty today. I got to level 25 right before that, but I don't know if there is any causation.

Put it in your vault and level a Warlock or dismantle it.
Either save it for a Warlock toon you make or disassemble. The mats for it can go for upgrades for a legendary piece you can actually use.
I got an Exoctic Bounty before I maxed out any of my sub-classes.. I got that bounty sat night, and maex out Striker yesterday.

What kind of mats do legendaries give you when disenchanted?
It disappears because you technically don't level up with XP anymore. Instead, XP gives you a mote of light every so often. To check your progress to that, open your inventory and move the cursor over the number of your level and it will show you a progress bar to the next mote of light. When you get it, it pops up on the right side of the screen like a loot drop.
I don't know why they don't just leave the XP bar at the bottom. I'd like to see the progress toward the motes of light.
Light stats on gear will raise your level from 20 on, and upgrading the defense on the gear with light stats increases that level even more.
Level 20 is the soft cap. This was relayed to you by the gigantic "Maximum Level" notification when you hit 20. You can level beyond 20 by getting armor with the "Light Attribute". The more light attribute your armor has, the higher your overall level. The attributes themselves don't mean as much at this point with the exception of light. Higher Light levels allow you to access a wider range of content/challenges.

That's awesome, can't wait for the event farming loop. Especially if you can get the daily reward for each of your three characters.
I really enjoyed PvP the first couple of days but now its just frustrating... I'm by no means an amazing good player, but the amount of oneshooting abilities is just out of hand.. Get killed by special -> spawn -> some guy with rocketlauncher -> spawn -> granade spam -> spawn > fusion rifle or shotgun oneshot -> spawn..

So, er, competitive multiplayer in this game is fundamentally broken. It's Halo but everyone has instant access to power weapons. Where's the incentive to use my hand cannon pistol when I can one shot people with a fusion rifle? Just had a game of Rumble and it was basically a case of whoever shoots first, wins. Instagib, basically. Which is fine. I love instagib. As a standalone game mode. Not as a fundamental gameplay mechanic.
The customisation is fantastic, and I appreciate the continuity of carrying over your character's weapons into multiplayer. I'm also aware that the weapons are normalised so stats don't count. But you can still one shot with the fusion rifle. And the shotgun. And the sniper rifle. And ammo is plentiful enough that you don't really have to worry about ever having to use your weaker regular weapon.
Sorry, but I just can't play competitive multiplayer when it's like this. It's dull.

I have strong beliefs in not purchasing weapons from shops when it comes to shops in RPGs. I'll eventually get a legendary in the wild.
You know level up with armor that has "light stat".

For your next level there will be a bar under your emblem that will show how much Light you have/need to level up when you get gear with the Light stat. If you hover over the Level 20 area in the inventory screen and it will show your progress to a Mote of Light which is increased with XP.
You could make a Warlock and give it to that character.
Also just happened again. Joined a Control with minutes to go, lost, legendary.

Running it on Tuesday is gonna be hell. However, it should be easier by the weekend. If you max on your PvE/PvP marks you should have purchased 4-5 legendaries by week's end.
I will be so down in the dumps if doesn't take away form vanguard rep since I have been avoiding getting a faction so far, because I want to max or at least greatly raise rep with them.

The point is to have Bungie have a good laugh at you (us).
I've decripted several purple engrams and was lucky to get 1 of them to be an actul legendary item I could use.
I don't understand the drop rate for purples, they drop rarely but always get a blue with awful stats, if you're making them give blue useless gear make them drop faster, or keep the current drop rate and make them ACTUAL LEGENDARIES.
If you destroy the head it stops teleporting and regenerating.
I *think* it's the light in its face. If you can pop their heads off, they'll charge at you but they wont do that stupid teleport crap that's terrifying.

All rep will go toward the faction.Yeah, the vault is shared by all of your characters. Just throw it in there, then when your Warlock is ready he can grab it.

So I logged in around the time the update went live, played 3 or 4 PvP matches, did a level 28 daily and completed it with my cousin then we both gave up playing and turned the game off.

The text has a lag, and I'm okay with that. However, there is still a lag between melee and death. It was apparent during the beta too.

Especially when two people melee each other. One dies right away and the other can walk around for about half to a full second and then dies :|

Yeah it's been like that all night for me. Seems to be a brief window after you die where a melee hit can kill the other player, meaning that you can score a kill from a punch AFTER you've died. Really throwing me off.

And the opposite is arriving and seeing you have to kill a VIP with an instantly respawning shield and you're the only one who showed up.
Even with a group, those are near impossible.
