It's hard to nitpick this game when you are treating to truly stunning scenery around every bend. The moment to moment gameplay and visuals really are top notch.

Did the Devil's Lair strike so I could get to level 11 and hit Venus on hard mode (leveled to 14). That was...not fun? The strike was enjoyable as long as we had forward momentum, going from encounter to encounter, but the 'survive lots of waves' section and two bosses were a total grind. You guys were not kidding about the health overload on the two bosses.

My deaths were nearly all due to dudes spawning on top of me.

I actually find the Devil's Lair bosses to be the least offensive in the bullet sponge territory compared to other strikes.

Yup. The orb (Sepik Prime?) was more interesting than the tank, but I kept finding spots where guys would suddenly spawn all around me. Nothing like turning around and finding a Captain standing in your face.

That's a bummer. I hope they are taken down by say, 75%.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to bring them down to one rocket kill.

My rocket anyway.

Hell no.

You can breeze through most strikes with the proper gear.

Kind of stuck at level 24 unless I get lucky and find some legendaries. Could use a few better weapons but they don't have light. Using a 19 rare helm, 20 rare gloves, 19 rare chest, and legendary legs. Don't think a 20 rare helm and chest would get me to 26 or probably not even 25.

lol didn't get any legendaries from the second moon mission 1 farm. Fucking A' at least I got enough blues to level up my cryptarch, which the package he sends has the chance to give me up to 3 legendaries.

OH WAIT. It didn't even give me any. Lol. I guess that's officially the last farming I do on this game, it simply isn't worth it. Guess I'll go play some PvP and hope for some loot.

Well, by not spoiling much, I'm happy to say that atleast a couple bosses you'll face in the future are much more interactive than 'Shoot in the face until they die'. So don't be too down on the strikes! There alotta fun if you just want to blast baddies!

Sooo I hope everybody is getting some of that purple stuff but please remember this is NOT a guarantee. I also just finished another run about an hour ago and it still works, got 2 legendary engrams and a BUNCH of blue/green ones. I guess some people were worried it'd be patched out.

Also here's some more detail on the whole thing:

First off make sure you've smoked the right amount of PCP.
Just kidding please don't smoke PCP.

The last run I mentioned I did it until I died about 150 times..about 2 hours worth of doing it.
The best advice I can give is DON'T kill the Knights...it seems the game registeres them as the biggest threat there so if they're dead the mission will most likely progress and you'll have to start over again (which is not THAT bad but please watch the end part of the video for more detail) Also you can restart the mission ANY TIME. You can go do whatever else you wanna do, even turn off the console and come back...you'll still be able to just restart and be one cutscene away from LOOT.

Activate your Black Wax Idols for maximum glimmer. This way every round you get an average of 80-100 glimmer so basically every 20 seconds.

USE that glimmer to buy green engrams from the cryptarch!!!

After I did the run I leveled up the cryptarch TWICE so that's 2 more chances for legendary engrams etc.

Please don't tase me if you don't get any purples while doing the run like I said it's NOT a guarantee!

And for anybody asking for the link here it is again:

Because I've played 75 effiecent hours of Destiny, half of that being spent on PURE repetetive farming, and I've gotten 2 legendaries. One of them being a shitty pulse rifle.

It's unfair - but I played vanilla WoW so I shouldn't complain - unfairness can be part of a loot game...

Sounds lik vanilla Diablo 3 all over again.

Every decent drop I've had came from PVP.

I'm really stuck at level 24. I can't seem to find any better gear. I do Strikes, harder missions and a lot of PvP. Is my only chance the PvP vendor?

I hate Devil Walker more than any other strike boss except for the last boss of the Moon strike. Only reason that boss is more annoying is having 3 sword Knights or Wizards spawn on top of you.

I don't know how the leveling works, but we spent what felt like 10 minutes plugging fire into both bosses. It's the kind of thing that really turns me off from playing them again.

Heh..., Im at around 40-50 hours of gameplay. Im trying to grind up an exotic bounty unlock, i have enough Motes of Light for an Exotic chest engram, as well as enough strange coins for gauntlets come friday.

Yup I'm in this same boat too. Since I wasn't able to find a last piece of Legendary gear to put me at 26 after two days, I guess I'll just casually play PvP and do bounties until this weekend when I know I can buy an exotic and hopefully get a second one.

Oichi

I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce!
I'm at level 19 right now but I totally forgot I unlocked the other subclass for Hunter at level 15. If I switch now is it going to be relatively easy to unlock all the bonuses again?

Every decent drop I've had came from PVP.

I've gotten 2 legendary secondary and 1 legendary rocket launcher from PvE legendary engrams that I've gotten either from cryptarch leveling up or random engram. I guess that's the best I can hope for. Going to PvP now.

edit: I don't even really care about my KDR anymore either. I'm just gonna go crazy and do bounties.

Raids arnt Exotic Class items required..., Unfortunately my luck isnt for the Exotics :'( Actually got another Legendary today kicking my total to 7.

My luck isn't even for the legendarys... Stuck at 20 for 3 days (around 6 hrs each day), not a single legendary. Not from strikes, not from PvP... i don't do special farm runs, i'm just trying to have fun. But it's really dragging.

The thing is, it's important it stays that way because that's how they make character progression and loot feel rewarding. Something that took you 10 minutes in the past, now only takes less than 5 minutes because you have made advancements to your character. It makes you feel powerful and is critical to loot based games.

If everything is just easy from the get go, what is the incentive to improve yourself?

But all your stats get squashed down for the appropriate level of whatever you're fighting...it still takes more than 1 hit to kill things at level 25 with a gun. Melee, sure, one hit, but..

edit: hey my first legendary in ages

it's 3 ascendant energy

thank you

So anyone that has been saying the Nexus run has had it's drop rate lowered is wrong.

I did it for about an hour last night had 3 legendary drops and 4 blues.

I got a new legendary AR from it and a pair of legendary boots....

The only issue I have is I already have legendary boots and need gauntlets, helmet and chest.

Looks like I will not be raiding today :\ kind of annoyed at that.

Oh well will be grinding more this evening, hopefully will be ready for tomorrow!

I now have 17 strange coins and 18 motes of light though,,,,

I am now up to 5 legendary items, one exotic although that's for a warlock... Two primary, One secondary Two pairs of boots and an exotic chest warlock.

Dear god this has to be some of the most annoying leveling up I have ever seen post 20....

If someone wants PS4 Limited keep an eye on Amazon. At least one new copy should show up whenever they get the one I mailed back.

Put about 35 hours into this game and zero legendary drops so far. I just acquired my first legendary by leveling up the FWC faction and buying myself some boots. Having purple engrams turn into blue items is getting really old.

So, I've played the Dust Palace strike multiple times now and not once did I receive any of the PS exclusive items. :(

This along with that vanguard armory bullshit really pisses me off. Those useless weapons don't even give weapons parts upon dismantling.

Well, I'd rather the combat be more interesting than just plugging away for ten minutes. It was neither hard nor fun, and just doing that faster isn't something that appeals to me in any way. I've leveled up to 11 now, and feel more powerful as a result, due to my expanding ability set and gear. So I don't think it's accurate to say you have to have grindy bosses to make you feel more powerful.

At any rate, if that's indicative of the bosses in strikes I'm going to add them to PvP on my list of things to avoid. Which just leaves me with the story missions.

I like the Spider tank because there's actual visual feedback that you're doing damage to it, in the form of the armor being destroyed on the legs. As for Sepik's I feel like he just doesn't have that much base health but I could be misremembering.

All of my PS exclusive armor has just come from random strikes on vanguard tiger(level 24 strikes). They're just blues =/ As for the weapons, those can come from PVP and engrams. Also I haven't even seen or heard of a legendary/exotic drop in the strike rewards besides Nightfall, so I don't even think it's possible x.x If it is, then it's stupidly rare.

A few questions:

- What is the fan for on top of the postmaster building? Why can I switch it on and off?
- What's in the closed-off area of the Tower with the door you can partially see through?
- When does the raid go live?

If you're going to farm and are looking at the Temple of Crota and Shrine of Oryx spots, I would recommend the Oryx spot. It's way less stressful and you get a lot more silken codex there which are 200 apiece. Sometimes you'll get 2 per run.

Temple of Crota has shit running at you non-stop and you have to dodge the knight's rocket things the entire time. If you're a warlock and you have your sunsinger abilities, you can get through every other round in Crota super fucking fast by rushing the doors as soon as you spawn and throwing your grenade in.

Then activate your super and keep throwing grenades. There are two large groupings of thrall inside, one group to the left of the door and one to the right. You can wipe everyone out this way in less than a minute. Then you have to play the next round out to get your super back. I still start by rushing the door on the next round and throwing a grenade if I have it.

You don't have to worry too much about killing the knight this way because he starts out at the bottom and has to climb the stairs to get to you. He'll come from your left so just pay attention when you're throwing your last grenades, but it will take him a while to get to you.

Just looked at my playtime...

I am upto 45 hours and 33 minutes.....

I am now off to work :( I will miss playing destiny so so much...

Time to buy a Vita so I can farm/grind at work!

When does the Crucible reset? I hit the max

Later on today it should reset.

Have someone stand on the fan, then turn it on.

Iron Banner (Crucible mode where all weapon/armor stats count) guy hangs out there. Bungie will announce when it will open.

In a few hours.

Closed off area is the special events area. It's where the Iron Banner dude is that you go to to enter that event.

1) Hitting the button up the stairs will make it blow once, lifting anyone standing on top of the post building.

2) That's the Events area. It opens up when certain events are active, like the Iron Banner.

3) In about 2 hours.

It has the lowest health of any strike boss and one of the larger weak points. The Moon strike boss is the most annoying for me because of the absurd amount of health he has and the tiny as hell weak point. Easy if no adds are up but annoying as hell if there are any.

I uhm... I guess it's better than nothing? =/
Same exact thing as me! I damn near died laughing. You just have to laugh now. Like the joker laughing and going insane and wanting to choke someone to fucking death.
