Hmm, I thought Nightfall was 25. Anyway, there is a big difference between 1 or 2 pieces of Legendary armor since I've spent 10 hours without any Legendary armor. I can only imagine another 10 hours for that second piece. Then farming for the stuff to level them...ugh.

I did get an Exotic, but it's a weapon and doesn't get my light up.

Thats just how these games are. Time investments.

Get your vanguard / crucible or other faction rank to 2 and you can then get their Legendary armor pieces with Marks.

I think the marks have reset, or soon will, so can get another 100. The armor pieces are 65 each, the helm is 120. So would take a few weeks time to get a full suit of Faction armor.

Then a long time gathering materials for upgrading.

Marks are pretty easy though. Do the daily mission on 24, which isn't horrible. Do patrols for rep and during patrols, especially on Mars, you'll run into Public events which when you get a Gold, will give you marks and mats. Each day, when you finish a public, you get a legendary mat item from the postmaster also.

Shit like that.

Me and a friend got to him with a random on the vanguard playlist, then the random decides he didn't want to play anymore and just stood there. Took us ages to kill him.

Then at the end the random got 2 pieces of the playstation exclusive gear, while me and my friend got jack shit.

I was seething.

Make sure to give people a poor grade who don't contribute. Go to roster from the menu and there are options ranging from helpful to idle. I'm hoping afk-ers only get matched with similar chumps.

I can't think of a way to get Vanguard marks constantly and guaranteed. Strikes take too long and the Vanguard Playlist is the only thing that gives them regularly. What I tend to do is do my bounties, my daily, my heroic weekly, and call it a wrap with Vanguard Marks.

Honestly, I think everyone is better off doing PvP at this moment. But this sucks because the guns I want are in Vanguard.

People have pegged down the ranges of times the public events trigger. I did four last night in a little over an hour. I capped my vanguard marks after the second, just kept going hoping for Ascendants.

It gives no rep, sadly, though sitting and camping the Devil Walker while farming spinsilver and doing bounties is still probably best overall in that frame.

The Strike playlist rep rewards need to be boosted by 400% in my opinion.

Yeah, the math is just bizarre. It really feels like two different teams were involved in the design and didn't talk to each other.

How long has this Gothalion stream been going??

They think they just figured out how to beat the Final Boss, lets see if they can do it.

lol they said they were 6 more bosses after that..

-___- fuck this shit watching streams this morning I honestly have no desire at all to put myself through this lol makes me not even want to play anymore :(

I got my first legendary item.. and It's a shotgun :(

My worst choice of weapons

I got my first legendary weapon as well (from a blue engram no less) and it's my worst choice: the Cryptic Dragon Scout Rifle.

Is this legendary?

Guaranteed? I don't know about that.

Go check out this Public Event (PE) schedule. They are not random.
http://www.destinypedia.com/Public_Event

Last night I started this little routine in Old Russia:

X:00 At Moth Yards doing PE
X:15 At the Divide doing PE
X:30 Back at Moth Yards doing PE
X:45 Back at the Divide doing PE
(continue on...)

In about 2 hours, I did 6 public events. Doing a bunch of random patrol quests in between. I ended with around 300 Vanguard Reps, 2 purple drops (of course both turned into blues), several Ascendant Shards/Energy, and of course the motes and coins for my first event. This way at least I know I'm slowly progressing towards being able to buy legendary from the Vanguards and accumulating the materials to upgrade them later. Much better than getting the random shits from strikes/crucibles...

It's apparently a way to have something interesting on your Destiny nameplate and nothing more. :p

This is literally the whole concept. I was in a clan prior to the raid release. I was the most well-geared at 27 Light and a half (to 28). I'm getting buddy buddy with many of the clan members who are a group of IRL friends. 7PM hits (2AM PST), the raid opens. They randomly kick me from the fireteam before the we even begin the raid...don't bother to message me or explain.

I then had to pug it by messaging people on my friends list for any open spots.

First world problems, GAF. He's finally good to me, and then laughs in my face.
To be fair, that Legendary that dropped is the same item level as the one you have equipped. It's just that you've upgraded your current helm with experience. This happened to me, too, though I was much happier to see ascendant shards pop out of the spare when I dismantled it.

I dont think it matter what level you do it at.

that sucks, I think.... I did lvl9 for a long time last night maybe an hour it seemed like an eternity. and got maybe 30greens and 12blues (maybe more, a shit ton of glimmer(with wax)), no purple stuff!!!

I'm LV 24 and the Weekly Heroic Strike on the Moon (at LV 22) is fucking bullshit. No place to hide, minions (with infinite respawn) and boss shooting everywhere. That's just unfair.

I can't imagine this once the wizards start spawning. Going to be fun lol.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
I would rather inject my dick with cancer rather than playing another round of rumble. Holy shit.

This is handy! PE = PvE, yes?

That is a sad story and I'm sorry to hear that. I am fairly confident Bungie will own up to their mistakes and rectify the clan system, but it will certainly take more time than we'd like.

Wait public events happen every 15 minutes? Are the areas random or were you driving around?

I would rather inject my dick with cancer rather than playing another round of rumble. Holy shit.

My favorite playlist when it's not shotties all around.

Sweet, so the week has reset and Raids are out? Bungie has a funny idea on when a week starts, and when a weekend ends.

How is raiding going for people? Anyone on Xbox One want to try it soon?

Still haven't figured out a way to kill the more grindy bosses fast. Maybe my team just sucks and aren't doing enough weak spot damage.

Damn chained moon dude, mars machine gun dude, and rotating shield turret dude just take fucking forever
That's really what it is. At the most basic level, people fail at doing damage efficiently - or take away from everyone else's chances of doing so by needing to be revived constantly.

You'd like to see everyone able to handle adds appropriately - allowing the 'free' person to continue doing damage (which is difficult in the moon strike because the area is just not designed to allow much room to breath with the constant attacks).

But when you can do awesome stuff like pivot the Vex Shield Gundam away from it's barrier, draw MarsBro's fire for extended periods, get the absolute most out of orb of light production to feed supers for each other, etc shit is beautiful.

So I'm pretty much done with the game for a while.. It's been frustrating for the many reasons that others have already pointed out, and they've done a better job than I would at detailing why.

This is just no fun when by yourself. I got a couple people from GAF on my friends list and added a couple dudes while playing but it's just not the same. Plus we can't even communicate in a meaningful way.. Bums me the hell out.

I might come back around Christmas time when I have nothing to do but farm, but after just playing for a week, I'm not feelin it as much as I hoped I would. Sad face.

What's the point of upgrading your ship and bike? Does it affect gameplay in any way?

Well upgraded sparrows have more durability, which I guess means they're tougher to kill in PvE and the one PvP map where you can actually use them. Upgrading your ship does nothing but change the loading screen.

It's funny because Rumble is my favourite playlist, alongside Salvage when I have a team. I prefer the close quarters maps and I like how there aren't 6 supers all directed at me personally.

Are you implying there's more to strikes than gunning an enemy down by shooting at their weak spot? I must be missing the thought-out mechanics of the Archon Priest fight. Of course, everyone on the strike team could increase their damage output, but that seriously cannot be what Bungie is aiming for when they considered doing Strikes to be fun.

I know some dude piped up about someone on Bungie being a Scarab Lord from WoW. I know a little about that and I'm impressed, but I wonder what he influenced in the design of these encounters, because I see jack shit.

I just played a few strikes last night with two people who kicked ass as partners, we revived each other super fast and one guy showed us a sweet chest and we danced when we did something awesome. kinda wish we had mics.

Does upgrading your armor increase light?

I remember upgrading a piece of blue armor I had and the light level rose 2 points. Lets say from 10 to 12 light. Then I got another armor piece for 12 light before upgrades, I was thinking I might as well switch them out since after I upgrade this one it will be a higher light. But when I fully upgraded it the light level didn't change.

What makes the light level go up in armor upgrades?

Yep. Just the middle upgrade though (the one that uses plasteel plates). The glimmer upgrades don't.
