I can confirm that Destiny's loot system is bullshit, but at least it worked in my favour this time:

What kind of stats are considered good for an auto rifle for PVP? Is rate of fire king?
You and I, we are chasing Pocket Infinity together!
Grats on your blue.

And stability
Finally got my first piece of Legendary armor! Pushed me clear up to 23
Sadly, it's hideous and the bonuses aren't so hot, but w/e. I'll be raiding by Friday![]()
It is about gunfights and skill. People complaining about shotguns need to make the same effort to stay away from shotgun range as the people using them make to get into shotgun range.Just gonna put my opinion down on the PvP. Not gonna say it's outright bad because it isn't and some of you may love it the way it is at the moment. But here's my thoughts.
It's too much of a cluster fuck for my liking. Here's a list of the things capable of killing you in one hit:
Shotgun
Fusion Rifle
Sniper Rifle
Supers (which usually each player gets 2-3 a game)
Also grenades do crazy damage.
IMO the multiplayer is amazing when you can actually manage a 1v1 gun fight, it's just these moments are few and far between. Most of my deaths are from just rounding corners and BAM. Dead.
If I could change things the way I wanted...
1. I'd lower the amount of supers per match. The meter would regenerate way slower.
2. Grenades would do less damage
3. Shotguns would be nerfed to the way they were in the beta.
4. Assault Rifles would be nerfed. Atm I feel handicapped when I'm not using one
Basically. Make it more about gunfights/skill. Less other stuff.
At least two raid streamers are stuck in the same location; at that one shiny boss...whatever his name is.

Can someone please explain to me the point of grinding patrols? Other than doing bounties, what do people grind patrols for? The loot? The public events? Thanks.
To be fair, it is easier to close on someone than it is to stay at distance. It is about gunfights and skill. People complaining about shotguns need to make the same effort to stay away from shotgun range as the people using them make to get into shotgun range.
It was a fucking Ascendant Shard (blue item) -_-
I went from not being able to hit anyone to consistently getting top three in matches. The crucible changed for the better for me once I got a good auto rifle.

And the only reason ARs are everywhere is because they're easy to use and reliable. If more people could actually aim, you'd see more complaints about crossmap SR dropping people in 4 hits Pulse Rifles in sometimes 3, and Hand Cannons with 1 shot anywhere and a head shot to follow.
Grenades can't even 1hit kill anyone unless its a sticky. Its right on par with any other halo game and honestly some of them could deserve a buff (skip, swarm grenades in particular)
Like I said earlier, there's no point in ever taking a corner hard when the radar lights up a like Christmas tree anytime someone is even two rooms out - and if you're going to hit the corner anyways? JUMP come around it high and you've already stretched the range of the encounter past the shotguns 1hk range and put the other guy on his heels trying to find you.
Also, anytime someone wastes a super on you out of panic and kills just you and no one else - you WON. You won HARD. That means that they're not creating orbs for the rest of their team and you know they're gonna be out of trump cards for a long, long time. Take the death and move on. Its not like you're getting kill-streaks in this game so keep it moving and be sure to stomp them out when you see them next time.
tl;dr git gud and realize that destiny isn't Halo, Killzone, or CoD. Play it like the game it is.
I think you're right. However, farming Glimmer to boost the Cryptarch's rank is probably very helpful to make sure those higher level engram drops get turned into higher level gear. So some amount of farming would be beneficial for this purpose, at least.
C'mon dude, gotta post a pic of it

Check your inventory. You might be seeing your weekly cap and not the actual currency you have.Just logged in, and my Vanguard and Crucible Marks are gone? What? Am I missing something?

Has ANYONE validated somehow that this actually happens?
Well aside from the fact that leveling the Crypto gives you free engrams in the mail, it stands to reason that a higher level Crypto gives you better odds at getting the relevant rarity or better when decrypting. Otherwise, there's no real point to him having more than one or two levels.
Has anyone snagged shaders from chests or out in the world? I've found ships and engrams up to legendary in a chest, but I really don't know the best way to track down shaders. The vendor in the tower hasn't really been very cooperative about rotating her stock.
A lot of people blame gear when they should be blaming lag. Gear doesn't matter as much as people think it does (especially low level players - their abilities recharge at a faster rate I think. discipline, strength, etc boosting their recharge times on a different scale)While we're on the topic of PvP, allow me to repost some questions I wrote up last night that didn't get answered:
- How much does gear matter? I find myself unloading charged up fusion blasts, multiple rounds from pulse rifles, and two shotgun bursts without being to kill some opponents, yet I find myself being absolutely murdered in literally three bullets from a pulse rifle, for example. What gives? Does the Armor stat matter, too? If it does (along with gear), why would anyone choose to play a non-Titan class?
- What is up with these white shields? Seems incredibly unfair for some people to have them and others to not. I've never got a piece of gear that gives me extra shields so far.
- What does match making take into consideration? I just did a Skirmish where it was me (lv. 20), a lv. 8, and another lv. 20 guy up against a lv. 26 and two lv. 24 players. They absolutely brutally stomped us. Like 4k to 1k score. I stay in the matchmaking, and... it's the exact same teams the next match! Yes, please. I'd love another ass-handing while I waste 10 minutes of my life in exchange for a tiny faction experience boost.
definitely missing something. Be more specific? The cap reset, which means you can continue earning them again. Any you had previously earned are safely tucked away in your inventoryJust logged in, and my Vanguard and Crucible Marks are gone? What? Am I missing something?
I'm going pretty much insane here. Did the temple of crota farming or what the hell it is called for an hour. I had an inventory full of fucking rare engrams and all I got was strange coins, shaders and level 16-20 rares. Fuck you Bungie. I think I'm done with this game.
