I just completed that yesterday. I used a combination of Fusion Rifle and Rocket Launcher.I did it in 2 nights and I'm a scrub. Probably about 6 hours total. The next bounty is the last one to obtain the weapon - Moon strike on Heroic. When you get to the boss you have to kill minions for like 10 minutes while leaving the boss alive to spawn some other baddie and kill him before the actual boss. Fun.

I've got this same bounty. If you wanna team up for it let me know. Same PSN as gaf handle. I'm almost level 25 though and it's a level 26 mission but I think it's doable.

Not sure about the shards, but the helium there is a youtube video about the helium farming route, starts right where you spawn and takes about 5 minutes for a complete run. You just keep going in circles and can probably get at least 100 an hour.

yeah right after posting that I saw the route lol. Gonna give it a try. I probably won't even bother getting too much right now since I can't go too far in leveling the boots up because the rest requires ascendant shards.

While free roaming on the moon there's a large elevated structure almost like a train line near the start, how do you get on top of it? I keep seeing crates but van't work out how to get them, I think I'm probably missing something really simple.

I'm in for sure. I'm at work for a few more hours then completely free for the rest of the night (Central USA). My PSN is also same as GAF handle. I watched a coupls vids and there are some tough choke points.

Follow it to the right (facing it from where you spawn), it has a broken point that is low enough to double jump on...might be other spots as well, but that is where I know you can jump on it.

Anybody know if Update 2.0 is still supposed to come out next week?

I tried asking in the PSN thread a couple times but it's just a bunch of people with anime avatars posting anime gifs...

I am nervous about being able to control that one. The rate of fire is insane!

I have a rifle with a max fire rate that does 200+ damage. At medium to close distance it's great, but it's totally worthless at long range. I suspect Dr. Nope will be the same. It sounds great when you're going full auto though.

Agreed. I'll probably get another 100 Vanguard marks and still not have a level 2 rep. I hate doing the patrol missions. Too boring.
I only do patrols if I can stack some other bounties with it. Like 30 melee kills, 9000 damage w/o dying, etc. Add a consumable for extra glimmer and then they finally seem almost worth it to do. I also only really look for helium and stuff on patrols.

right after the beginning area go right and keep the track on your left. over a hill or two and you will see a silo you can jump on. from there it's a simple double jump.

Maybe it's better to level up a bit first then to 26. I won't be on until evening pacific time, but Iet's give it a shot. If we fail hard, we can just put it off until later. A high level third will help. :)

If you guys need one more person, I'm in because I have the same bounty. My psn is the same as my GAF name and I am level 24, close to 25.

i know this isn't a response to me but i'd like to weigh in with my thoughts. Pretty much every map in Destiny is shotgun range, especially when you factor in sprint, overshields and blink. The long lines of sight you have to stop players before they get close are often cluttered as well. Here's how the maps play in Rumble:

Exodus Blue - largely focused around the buildings where there's little height variation. too many corners and angles; shotguns everywhere.
Asylum - only 3 major lanes on the map. otherwise overwhelmingly CQB. you have to be really good to kill shotgun players before they get to you
Burning Shrine - you win if you can snipe. Otherwise, shotguns galore.
Anomaly - best place to be if you want to avoid shotguns is the heavy ammo cave. Every other chokepoint is shotgun territory
Twilight Gap - absolutely terrible, cluttered sightlines and swiss-chees building design. Most engagements are in CQB
Blind Watch - shotguns. behind automatic doors no less.
Rusted Lands - all the major chokepoints and heavy ammo spawns are in CQB
Firebase Delphi - shotguns galore in the central rings, which hold the best sightlines on the map
Shores of Time - the only map not dominated by shotgun fights

Supers on CQB maps bred necessity for shotguns. shotguns bred necessity for ARs. the game backed itself into this corner.

Everyone uses ARs because they have the fastest kill time. You can kill 3 people with one mag of the Shingen-E in just under a few seconds. If scout rifles had the fastest kill time, people would use that.

Warlock and Titan have OHK grenades. Bladedancer also has OHK grenade

Am pretty good at the game, which is why it's frustrating how easy it is to blink + camo shotgun, or throw down a shield and create even more shotgun chokepoints. "playing the game as it is" at this point means abusing the shotguns. destiny's meta game has peaked at that. there isn't even a point in melee combat right now because shotguns have rendered it obsolete.

my win percentage speaks for itself - i consistently average ~24 kills and ~4 deaths a game sniping on every map and usually end up with nothing to show for it - not even an in-game rank. Meanwhile, the players shotgunning everywhere are earning legendaries and exotics when they lose.

everything is backwards

blink + fusion rifles is the real OP imo but cool, i'd much rather talk pvp than see another 30 pages of farming talk

I don't think the ARs have the fastest kill time. I think ARs have the fastest 'messy' kill time. You can spray and pray to an extent with them. You can be off center and still keep your damage up a bit. They're nice and they give a lot of people that sense of security. That's really about it.

When it comes to kill time, hand cannons easily win the debate. They are without question the hand of God in this game. The only reason I'd even give ARs a notch over SR is because they can be used a bit better while mid-air, but even then people neglect the Pulse Rifles where they hit harder and maintain similar spread in the situation.

So basically.... I just think ARs are 'popular' more than anything else. If more people could actually aim, they'd use the weapons with the scud missile crits. They can't though. ARs are an entry level weapon that everyone who's ever played and FPS is familiar with. They're comfortable and effective. If you want to reduce the efficiency of that then you're getting into a messy area imo.

I won't say that shotguns have rendered anything obsolete either. If you're getting shotgunned then obviously someone is looking straight at you and extremely close to you - don't put yourself in that situation. You wouldn't sit on top of hill standing still while snipers are out, why would you round corners tightly and on the ground? Why would you ever sit in front of an automatic door? A simple jump laughs at the shotguns range and makes it largely ineffective - and because their rate of fire isn't all that great you've usually got your free kill before you hit the ground. The rooms aren't anywhere near as bad as Ghost either so its extremely obvious where people are coming from. Even moreso in Control and Salvage games.

I'm thinking a lot of people simply put themselves in bad positions because they can't get out of the mindset of other games.

I'm setting up a team for this now, last spot and ready if you want to join.

What is the minimum armor needed to get to Level 27?

Can you hit 27 with all Legendaries plus an Exotic, WITHOUT any of the Defense upgrades that require Ascendant Shards?

Been watching this stream for a while now. That looks really, REALLY fun. Wait, no it looks terrible. They've been doing the same thing for hours now.

The puzzle aspects look cool it's just that they're stuck, either through just plain fatigue, missing some bit of strategy or what, and the endless repitition makes it look horrific. I think they need to step back, take a break, and refresh. Stay down, StreamerHouse! Stay down!

whats wrong with ascendand shards, you only have to salvage exotics to get them

2.5 more hours until work is done and Destiny!

My life has turned into a loop just like the game.

Wake Up, Check Bounties before work, go to work, play destiny, sleep.

Repeat.

You've convinced me to give hand cannons a whirl in PVP. Are you running with a squad when you play or are you solo, just curious. Seems like PVP teams have fallen off at the wayside with all this farming/raiding going on now, but I'd like some dudes to run and gun with.

I played 6 or 7 PvP matches with the Stranger's Rifle just to get a feel for it. I don't like it at all, because I feel it has way too much recoil. Also, and this may sound weird but the electricity effect it has when you shoot distracting as fuck to me.

And I agree that whatever weapon you like is the best to use in PvP. I can't use AR's in PvP or PvE -- I just don't like the way they feel and while their range is stupid long for what they are, it isn't enough for me and that's why I use Scout Rifles. 8 times out of 10 I'll lose a fight medium to close range with someone using an AR, but I really don't care. Hell, the Shotgun I use in PvP is a green (I like the fire rate) and most of my kills come from the Shotgun, because closing the gap on people and filling them with Shotgun lead is satisfying.

I truly believe Shotguns are going to get one hell of a nerf in PvP soon though, the whole "shotgun-quick-melee" combo is too powerful right now, especially if your a Warlock.
I want to scrap The Strangers Rifle but I feel like I shouldn't. The thing is a mess imo...

and I've migrated away from the Shotgun back to the Fusion Rifle because its just too predictable. Fusion Rifles still have that ridiculous range and combined with the movement abilities its probably the hardest fight anyone expects to deal with at the moment.

I can see the Shotgun getting nerfed but I don't really think it deserves it quite yet. Maybe an increased and loosened spread with lower firing rate (and no more agility perks).
