As to the original question, the answer is "yes." I am level 26, nearly 27, and that is with blue boots and everything else legendary/exotic.

The temple of crota spot has way too much shit going on for my tastes. I don't need to be in ADD mode dodging shit and having things running at me non-stop for an hour when I'm trying to farm. Also, you get no time in between to make any changes in your inventory. Oryx spot is way better.

I like it because of the mindlessness and quick turnaround. Lets me listen to podcasts

As for the bolded part, if you need to switch up inventory or break things down just hop up the cliff behind where you start and find a nook to duck down into. They won't find you and you'll have plenty of time to make whatever adjustments you need to, then you can jump right back down and continue the slaughter. It's the only time my AR gets any use.

I've gotten two (exotic bounties) and my vanguard rank is still level 2.

I just hit Vanguard rank 2 yesterday and I got an exotic bounty as well. I also have an exotic weapon already but have never actually received a legendary item for my current class(except for the Titan class item and I'm pretty sure I bought that).

So, I may have two exotic weapons (primary shotty and the pulse rifle) and not a single purple item. I'm still level 23. I thought I had reached 24 but I was wrong.

So to get from 27 to 30 you'd need a shitload of Shards. Should be a decently long time for that. I wonder how many Shards are needed to get to 28, which seems to be the maximum needed for every event so far.

And furthermore, if it is better to use the Shards in the Legendary armor pieces first and Exotic last, because the Exotic requires 8 whereas 6 for the Legendary Defense upgrades.

Agreed. I've played 62 matches of the Crucible and still am only like 75% of the way to Crucible Level 2. I win more than I lose and usually do pretty well.

I'm sitting at 98(?) matches for Crucible and I'm just barely outside of level 3 with FWC. I probably could've had that leveled up but I was being stupid about factions and whatnot for a while before I figured out what I needed to do.

The thing is, my K/D took some HUGE hits when I was trying to find a new weapon after the Cydonia while using that barebones blade dancer at the same time lol. You see the game in a different light after you're the only person in the match without the ability to double jump.

I just don't have it in me to do that farming stuff. I tried it for a few last night at the Moon mission and it's just not for me. I've been a little lucky on some drops, so I'll just keep doing bounties/strikes and pvp here and there and hope the luck continues. Once again, good luck to those who haven't got a legendary/exotic item yet, it'll come sooner than later I hope.

Got the heavy machine gun legendary from farming the cave in skywatch. And then the cryptarch gave me the helmet after levelling him (also from a legendary engram).

Has anybody tried this farming spot? I've basically given up on farming but if people say it's better than say the first moon mission farming then I'll consider it.

Doing it right now. It's boring as shit, but the drops seem to occur pretty quickly.

Those are for legendary/exotic weapon upgrades.

I just thought shards were the only ones. Is energy a higher or lower tier? Also, is it worth it to fully invest in my legendary chest? With upgrades I tend to always wait for something better lol. (Barely upgrade my guns)
