How the fuck do you take down the enemies in the Events who have to get through multiple checkpoints and you have to stop them.

Its a Level 18 enemy and nothing takes its health down.

High enough DPS I believe to do damage to their health before their shields return, until you kill them.

I joined one yesterday where someone was (obviously) having trouble since they were alone but when I arrived I just unloaded handcannon shots in the Captain's head over and over and it stunned him and he went down in 15 seconds.

Last night got legendary helm I could actually use from the PCP method. This morning I got a legendary rocket launcher from crypo level up and in a couple hours I'll be crucible rank 2 and have enough tokens for 2 more pieces of armor.

I've been doing some sweet Sparrow tricks in midair and landing them on Old Russia lol. Only wish youtube uploading was a thing I don't need to share this with my youtube fuck that shit. Guess I'll leave my guy sitting for now. IMHO the fastest way at the end of the day to make enough marks is raids if you really don't feel like farming rocket yard.

You have the sparrow that allows shoulder button dashes? If so where can I buy it? I want it.

okay...impulse buy much?

If you decide to keep them make sure you download the headset companion app and upload the Destiny profile to your headphones.

I was able to price match both at BB for like $107 before taxes or so. And I knew I wanted to get a headset (cat chewed up the bundled shit with the PS4) if I were going to get into Destiny...so yeah.

What level are you? I'm almost 26 and I get right up in their face with a blue Heavy Machine Gun. Watch his health bar deplete. Otherwise, you will need a few more players to help.

So I've had a total of 9 legendary engrams today. Not one was one decrypted into a legendary weapon or armor.

Fuck you Bungie!

Now to go play PvP

Yeah I have no idea wtf they were thinking. An important element of war is the element of surprise. There is no surprise when people see you coming from a mile away! Even Halo had a no armor mode along with no shields

Yeah. Every FFA match ends up being turn corner shotgun fests. Everyone sees you coming. There is zero surprise to be had, unless you are shooting your target in the back that is going after someone else. I can't stand this PvP.

they show up when you get vanguard to level 3 iirc

Over the weekend I played a salvage match where both teammates bailed within the first couple of minutes. I toughed it out but got zero goodies for the horrific loss :/

Just want to debunk this now, level 3 won't always give you an exotic bounty.

I fought one, and it never seemed like its health would really drop. It'd go down a bit (let's say 1/8th of the bar, if that), but never more. I ended up giving up and walked away, before I noticed that the checkpoints ticker was going up.

Someone else was fighting it, so I joined in. The thing still didn't lose health, but we ended up getting credit for defeating it.

24 nearly 25. I tried Heavy Machine Gun, RPG and rifles with all having 250+ attack not even my super did a dent.

First legendary and I am stoked because it is a chest piece which is my worst piece of armor, but jokes on me and it is for a damn Hunter. :(

The last few years we have been trained on consoles for either 2 player or 4 player coop. I have built a group of 4 friends that get together and play all coop games. Why for the love of god did they make this 3 player coop? Now when it is Friday night there is always one odd guy out.

derp. meant with my facebook. Freudian slip.

Regular sparrow you get from getting the 5 gold chests on earth. The tricks are made by finding 'ramps' and boosting at the end so he flips around and goes crazy.

Question: If you can only create a fireteam of 3, is it possible to have a party of five or six playing together in PvP? A bunch of work buddies are wanting to try out some multiplayer but I'm not sure if (or how) it lets you play together with over 3 people. If we're all in an Xbox Live party together will it suck us all into the same match or what?

As someone who has never played an MMO or "loot grind" game before, and am just playing Destiny as a shooter, it's getting increasingly bewildering. I don't know what most of my inventory items do, and can barely follow conversation in here at all.

Basically I pick up gear and if it's better than what I have, I use it. I upgrade the gear and my character when they level up. Anything much deeper than that and I'm kind of lost. I can't seem to find much help in-game, either.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of the game, good or bad, I tell you something I've found this and the threads resulting from Destinys launch VERY interesting. Seriously though, has a AAA game resulted in so many different threads at launch in recent years because I honestly don't recall it from my time GAF (lurking and being a member).

Hatred, love, salt, tears, conversations, hype and many many other emotions and opinions. It's almost as entertaining to me as the game has been.

Hmm well my follow-up suggestions would be to make sure your Machine Gun is fully upgraded, and maybe see what color shields the enemy has and use a corresponding element type.

You really shouldn't have a problem with that level discrepancy if you have an upgraded blue heavy, regardless of elemental damage type. Incorporate grenades/supers when your clip is empty (either before reloading or right after), to prevent him from regenerating - keep the pressure on. It really should only take a couple minutes at most.

I've put in almost 2 in game days, can't remember the last time I've done that and took the week off work last week.

It may not be a perfect game, but it definitely is something I enjoy. A lot....

50 minutes of work left!!!

Do we know what weapon Attack values are needed to do 100% damage to enemies at X level?

Basically, I want to know how upgrading my Attack on my weapons actually helps me kill baddies, especially for higher level enemies. Obviously higher is "better" but wondering if there is diminishing returns or if the costs (e.g. Materials) are worth maybe a tiny increase in overall DPS.

Just play the game and have fun, explore, look at cool stuff and play some PvP. Once you get to 20 and finished the story missions, you'll have learned a lot more, then come inhere and ask questions :)

Also make sure to play with other people! Ask people here to join you

Anything you have questions about, just ask here and I'm sure plenty of people will be willing to explain. We've all been new with these types of games before and the system can definitely be confusing at first.

Your character is basically your primary focus. Anything that increases a number or stat is worth looking into. Which is why MMOs have crafting experience. You spend multiple hours doing small tasks just to raise a bar. The biggest differences may come from elements or abilities, so you don't need to stock up on all sorts of gear. Keep the best gear and cycle through.
