Lol. I spent more time getting from 22 to 25 than getting from 1 to 20. Have been lv24 since saturday now. Got an exotic helm yesterday that should kick me into 25 and maybe 26 when I start upgrading it though. The RNGod can stop your progress big time.

We've successfully reduced Destiny farming down to standing in one spot and firing in one direction for hours.
I need more Legendaries, I'm going to try it.
Can I even get Engrams from Enemies someone else kills? Because I looks like the spot is well populated with Guardians. And when I can't get Engrams from Enemies I did not kill myself it seams pretty pointless to farm at such a overpopulated spot.

Another day of bounties and a little patrol grinding and I'll hit rank 2 with Vanguard. Hoping another legendary piece will get me to 26.
They have discipline+Int too, though.

I've seen this happen. My friend supered all the goblins in nexus but I still got a couple of greens and a blue from that.
two blues, two legendaries + some upgrades is a fine way to get to 26.

so buy a cape from the fraction you want items for costs about 2500 glimmer
Complete quests and PVP matches and rank it up
Once it's ranked up you can buy their legendary gear.
Ah, well that makes sense. Is Faction-gear better compared to vanguard of crucible gear? Or mostly different stat-boosts?

Same here, just did 25 patrols and a Strike which netted me 340 rep and 6 Marks, now with 5 bounties I'll hit level 2 Vanguard and should be able to buy 2 pieces of Legendary gear.
I wish I did this from the start instead of farming and hoping to get a Legendary piece.
So in the Bungie weekly news they state that public events happen twice as often now.

Same for me, I'm almost rank 2 now, with over 70 marks so I will finally be able to buy a legendary (I have zero legendaries or exotics). Been at Level 24 since pretty much Sunday. Exciting times ahead.
Edit: I think this thread is finally showing some signs of slowing down.
Wow! seems like a lot of people are in exactly the same position as I am. The grind to rank 3 is gonna be a bit frustrating but it seems like the only way I'll ever get a legendary weapon.
I got like 4 tonight. That was many I had a week.
My right ear went deaf and now ringing.. Ugh
Got another legendary engram, heavy.. Blue.
At least that all black legendary bond actually glows, purple.

It's a progression. You need the upgrade before (horizontally).

Now that you say it. I remember that some Engrams dropped from the Goblins for me as well, even the other members of my Fireteam killed them.
But do I get them when the one who kills it is not in my Fireteam?
Yeah, just farmed for 2 hours on moon and nothing. I think I'm going to level up the vanguard and just buy the gear I need. It seems it is pointless to try to get gear from enemies.
Turn in 2 Legendary Engrams and 6 Rare Engrams; 1 Legendary Helmet for Titan ( I play Warlock ), 1 Rare Scout Rifle ( crap compared to the one I already have ), 2 Strange Coins and 4 Uncommon pieces of gear.
In 25+ hours, I have only found a single piece of Legendary gear I can actually use. I have not seen a single Exotic bounty despite doing a ton of regular bounties. I never get anything good from Strikes or Crucible despite performing very well and I still have a very long grind ahead of me if I ever want to buy anything Legendary from any vendor. Even if I just want to level up my only Legendary piece, I'll need to grind the Heroic Daily strikes for a few weeks to even be able to get enough Ascendant Materials.
This is so broken. ;-(
I'm considering to just stop playing and wait for a Loot 2.0 patch.

Oh man only 4 Vanguard bounties today. I'll need to still get 164 Reputation after completing them so at least another 20 Patrol missions.
BTW does Vanguard armor stock refresh or is it just the standard armor? I really want the Armada Type 3 Gauntlets and I'll be gutted it they go in the next few hours.

Happened to me yesterday. Extremely frustrating.
My current Titan and two exotic weapons I got from the legendary engrams (Cryptarch likes me). Now I'm waiting for Xur to appear so I can buy exotic gear with my strange coins

Ah, yeah, backstab works too. I'm mostly a blink/blink-strike player with stalker for invisibility thrown in. Lack of double jump takes some getting used to but blinking is so crazy good.

I've only had 1 strike run fail during the 30 or so strikes I've run so far, 95% of which with randoms. But maybe it's a bigger problem if someine is under level 22-23, where the more casual and bad players might be at this point in the progression curve.
I'm going to split my time between vanguard rep and strange coin farming for when Xur comes bach this weekend then at least I'll have 1 exotic as well.
I think I'm just going to do the bounties and a couple of strikes per day and not think to much about getting the rank to 3. By doing a few bounties and strikes per day it should get you there in a few days. At least you can buy armor in the meantime.

The legendary stuff from vendors never get refreshed. The 'early access' stuff only refreshes once at level 10 I think. Even then it's only to upgrade damage to 100. You'll be fine.
Patrols give you 10 or 20 rep don't they? So I don't think you have to do 20.
So I was trying out the Skywatch farming location, there were two other guys there, we had been there for about 20 minutes just as we came back from getting ammo & loot from the cave everything went crazy! All the fallen rushed our location, hive started spawning behind us from a door (including wizards and knights). They just kept spawning... it was so much fun and just carnage!

I didn't do anything special - 12 from the weekly strikes (2x6), engrams, cruicible/strikes rewards etc.

Xur (vendor available on friday/saturday) had exotic engram for sale - 23 Motes of Light.
