Re: Thorn in sweats: never been annoyed by it. Anything is better than that gross Pulse meta we had a few months back where everyone used the same bland ass Hawksaw/PDX.

People flocking to TLW is fine by me though. As long as there's a Hand Cannon at or near the top of the pyramid this game is fun to play and fun to watch. Pushing is viable, encounters take place a little closer to home, there's more movement - Destiny shines when people take advantage of its best-in-class (GOAT) movement and transversal options.

With Pulses and Scouts engagements take place at awkward distances where you shoot and duck and try your best to not fall asleep in the process.

Oh no doctor what is it? Can you cure it? Say you can

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord the speaker! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of guardians from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade -- kept in the last city for you, who through faith are shielded by the speaker's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials of osiris. These have come so that your faith -- of greater worth than glimmer, which perishes even though refined by rahool -- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when the traveler's secrets are revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your silver.

I bought Taken King a few weeks ago, and despite largely enjoying most of the underlying changes, man is the game not as fun as it was back when I played it during the Dark Below. It has all of these things that should hook me in and keep bringing me back but I don't even touch the game except to raid, and even that, I don't particularly care for because of Bungie's insistence on stupid jumping segments that simply aren't fun to partake in. The end game just isn't very rewarding at all and the end-game progression was just awful.

Hopefully Destiny 2 improves up on much of the base Bungie has built so far.

They've definitely been doing a run on the rarer ones over the last month or so - finished mine up earlier in the week with Crest of the Gravesinger.

Yeah I've noticed there has been a run recently of the rarer ones. I will have to start the ship / sparrow collection next

Good God, randoms are fucking morons. There's really no reason to pound your head against a wall trying to PTO Zone Control with them. It's just too much stupid to deal with. Not worth the measly Legendary Marks you get for it.

EDIT: Every game I jumped in to had the team I got put on losing terribly. Okay, not every game. ONE game was a fresh Combined Match.

Goodnight, everybody!

The game put me into 3 just about to lose matches in a row lastnight

WYL, the hero Destiny deserves

Wish speaks the most sense out of all the streamers when it comes to Crucible/balancing. Hopefully it won't accelerate the demise of TLW, again

Woah.

For the three people around here who care about this: Thorn has been banned from sweats/future tourneys. All hail our new sweaty overlord, TLW.

Great news, if ever a gun epitomised 'first (body) shot wins' it is Thorn. Hopefully they change the 'no Max armor Titan' rule that made sure Titans died from 3 bodyshots.

At least our new sweaty overlord requires hitting heads to squadwipe with a single clip!!

It doesn't matter what rules or guns they enforce, because without The Thorn

Garbage is still Garbage!

Gunsmith brought a Zarinea-D with:
Relentless Tracker
Counter Balance
Rifled Barrel/Fitted Stock

Seems about as good as you could hope for.

Guys, where can I learn more about the so called "Sword logic" that people talk about when speaking of the game's lore?

http://db.destinytracker.com/grimoire/enemies/books-of-sorrow

There are 50 Calcified Fragments hidden in the Dreadnaught. Each of these tells a little part of Oryx's story. The 50 put together make up the Books of Sorrow, a wonderful read if you're into this kind of thing.

I linked a site where you have all 50 in sequence so you can read it all comfortably in one place. It's full of names you won't know at first so it can be a little confusing but halfway through everything starts making sense.

Had to happen. It's an absurdly dumb weapon. The idea of a damage over time primary is fine, but it should be paired with a very low impact class to compensate.

For the longest time, this has been my favorite Grim card. It's Toland going mad upon understanding Hive philosophy. He agrees with it. The strong live, by virtue of being strong and there's nothing more to it. And your rule is only absolute once you've destroyed everything which could contest it, so the way forward is the destruction of everything. This is what Oryx slowly explains over the 50 Books of Sorrow, but Toland cuts to the chase here.

---

"I drive myself to the edge of madness trying to explain the truth.

It's so simple. Elegant like a knife point. It explains - this is not hyperbole, this is the farthest thing from exaggeration - EVERYTHING.

But you lay it out and they stare at you like you've just been exhaling dust. Maybe they're missing some underlying scaffold of truth. Maybe they are all propped on a bed of lies that must be burned away.

Why does anything exist?

No no no no no don't reach for that word. There's no 'reason'. That's teleology and teleology will stitch your eyelids shut.

Why do we have atoms? Because atomic matter is more stable than the primordial broth. Atoms defeated the broth. That was the first war. There were two ways to be and one of them won. And everything that came next was made of atoms.

Atoms made stars. Stars made galaxies. Worlds simmered down to rock and acid and in those smoking primal seas the first living molecule learned to copy itself. All of this happened by the one law, the blind law, which exists without mind or meaning. It's the simplest law but it has no worshippers here (out there, though, out there - !)

HOW DO I EXPLAIN IT it's so simple WHY DON'T YOU SEE

Imagine three great nations under three great queens. The first queen writes a great book of law and her rule is just. The second queen builds a high tower and her people climb it to see the stars. The third queen raises an army and conquers everything.

The future belongs to one of these queens. Her rule is harshest and her people are unhappy. But she rules.

This explains everything, understand? This is why the universe is the way it is, and not some other way. Existence is a game that everything plays, and some strategies are winners: the ability to exist, to shape existence, to remake it so that your descendants - molecules or stars or people or ideas - will flourish, and others will find no ground to grow.

And as the universe ticks on towards the close, the great players will face each other. In the next round there will be three queens and all of them will have armies, and now it will be a battle of swords - until one discovers the cannon, or the plague, or the killing word.

Everything is becoming more ruthless and in the end only the most ruthless will remain (LOOK UP AT THE SKY) and they will hunt the territories of the night and extinguish the first glint of competition before it can even understand what it faces or why it has transgressed. This is the shape of victory: to rule the universe so absolutely that nothing will ever exist except by your consent. This is the queen at the end of time, whose sovereignty is eternal because no other sovereign can defeat it. And there is no reason for it, no more than there was reason for the victory of the atom. It is simply the winning play.

Of course, it might be that there was another country, with other queens, and in this country they sat down together and made one law and one tower and one army to guard their borders. This is the dream of small minds: a gentle place ringed in spears.

But I do not think those spears will hold against the queen of the country of armies. And that is all that will matter in the end." - See more at: http://destiny-grimoire.info/#Collection-Darkness
