Bungies philosophy is so dumb

"We really want people to use these guns and we hope they'll use them a lot and enjoy them"

"These guns are getting too much use so we are going to nerf them and bring them down"

They contradict everything they say.

So this week they basically did nothing about the things that run the show in PVP

Shadestep Glitch? Nah that's a feature

  • Buffed other melee perks
  • Fireborn means less Super duration.
  • Longer super for non radiance
  • Storm caller Landfall doesn't destroy titan bubbles or blind anymore.
  • Stormtrance drains faster when using the lightning

  • Actual hit damage takes place earlier in the melee animation

Looks like that is it.

This is everything.

Notes from Bungie's stream:

  • Lars is the guets speaker. He actually seems comfortable.
  • "Destiny is about to become a more rewarding game" -Deej
  • Revive changes
  • Need to be closer
  • Rez took longer
  • Can't sprint through for revives anymore.
  • Shotgun got 4 bullets from special ammo crate
  • overshield is less powerful from rezzes.
  • Thorn dot now ticks for 7?
  • rez timer increase for multiple detaths.
  • 7 seconds to 14 to 21.
  • Thorn dot just ticked for 2, so I don't know whats going on.
  • They're basically just very slowly going over patch notes. This should not be a stream.
  • They're showing a 3v3 all warlock game in the foreground, but there is too much to really take in.
  • Saw thorn tick for 2 again.

More to come...

Stream Part 2:

  • Sniper got 4 bullets from a special crate
  • Spawn with special again at the beginning of the match. All modes.
  • Special ammo will spawn later into match. 3 min mark. then every 2 minutes.
  • Should be less special in the matches in total.
  • Heavy comes in once a match at 5 minute mark.
  • Mayhem will remain Mayhem. Changes don't apply.
  • Loot
  • Legendary stream was "a little light"
  • More legendaries for end game rewards
  • LOL, literally zero rewards on their screen...
  • Shaxx-fall will drop up to 335.
  • Trials will drop up to 335 (Mercury).

  • Rank 5 package drops up to 335.
  • Iron Bounty bounty for 2500 points changed to 1500 points.
  • Patch notes early?
  • Nope, nevermind. Patch notes on the 12th per normal.
  • Fucking room temp water joke. 3 times already. (where is my bingo card)
  • Lars is leaving
  • John Weznewski (not spelling that right) coming up shortly.

Patch 6.7 just nerfed EVERY champion that has dominated the meta since LCS, but sure.

Which isn't a bad thing. There are still strong picks, those champions are still strong picks. Nerfing something overtly powerful is fine. Nerfing weapons that are already weak is hilarious. Heee-lair-eee-us

You guys are too salty. I like all the changes especially on the primary front where we will see even more variety in weapons. I am glad Hawkmoon, Suros, and slow rate pulses are getting buffs and TLW, Snipers and mida getting small nerfs. I wish they would have changed the Sunsinger Firebolts but still, i think they will make crucible have even more variety now.

This whole idea that popular weapons, overpowered or not, need to be "adjusted" has got to stop.

Removing reserve ammo for better PvP ammo economy at the expense of hurting PvE has got to stop.

I'll have to wait to see how things shake out, but I can't say I'm too thrilled with all the changes.

There better be mentions of melee registration and bladedancer super problems in the patch notes, along with shadestep glitch being fixed.

It will have more variety for the first week or two and until people figure out what is the strongest and it will be back to 2-3 weapons being used just like before.

Full auto KF raid scout with stability buff might be pretty good...

I thought he was referring to the auto rifle, not the scout?

Some terrible decisions with the balance changes.
  • Nerfing TLW further and to make matters worse nerfing the perk that encourages you to use it how it's designed to be used.
  • Not addressing the issue with snipers (ridiculous AA) but instead making changes to the ammo economy that won't amount to much
  • Not changing Firebolts because they couldn't figure out how to. (easy answer have lower base firebolt damage with viking funeral equipped or at least don't show the ticks)

The most disturbing part though was watching their testers play and seeing they were terrible at the game. You can't balance you're game around just usage statistics and you can't balance it around a group that isn't representative of the avg. player.
