DZ Level 50 grind is the realest grind ever, mainly because when you die you lose a chunk of XP and can DOWN LEVEL. When you die as a rogue you lose even more XP. It's rough especially when you match with people that aren't really good and shoot everything they see (non-hostiles included, which then turns you rogue).
I have been becoming a huge fan of optional matchmaking, BUT.... i still don't see matchmaking for Destiny Raids as an option, still. Nightfalls/strikes/story missions/Random Patrolling stuff should all have optional matchmaking, IMO. I've heard way too many stories of trying to help out a random group of Tower blueberries in King's Fall that literally can't go passed the Totems. I don't see MOST experiences going well for something of that nature with matchmaking.
Division, there aren't any mechanics that involves that much team work with puzzles to solve that takes precise communication and timing. Every solo matchmake I've tried for Challenge missions, has been terrible. If I have a friend or 2, meaning we only get 1 or 2 randoms, then it goes ok/fine, so that is the nice part. And Challenge Mode Division is just literally bullet sponges who have infiinite grenades. What more if it had raid-like mechanics.
I guess we'll see in the future content releases/expansions how it goes.
Maybe for their next raid, they can try it out for like a month, optional matchmaking with a disclaimer that going in solo can dramatically decrease the experience and to review your experience afterwards to see how it went. I'd be very curious to know the percent of solo raid matchmakers that end up having a good experience. My guess would be about 10%.
