We didn't finish the Raid but i think we did really well, and it was a LOT of fun. More fun than anything else i've done in Destiny i think! Thanks to Shawn and whoever else was in the fireteam :)

Yeah it was a pretty awesome time figuring all that stuff out. Best parts of Destiny by far and so different from anything else. We had a good and easy going group. We got all the way up to the final boss, but I think coordinating those last parts with the relic 3-4 hours in is what got us. I might try to see if I can finish it tomorrow night if anyone is up for it haha.
 
Yeah, I'm not going back to the normal raid. From now on, it will be hard mode. At least then I'll have better chances of getting Raid armor and then there's Vex Mythocast.

I can't remember if the team I beat hard mode with agreed to team up again this Tuesday.
 
I've got a couple of achievements that haven't popped. Vanguard score at max and equipping all legendaries and exotics.

If my vanguard score achievement doesn't pop before Tuesday, will I need to grind that out again to get the achievement?

Try hitting start -> settings -> switch profile -> and reselect your gamertag. they should pop

Has anyone had their alt accounts have successful raid runs? I am trying to get my main Titan to 29-30 so hoping this will help out.

First run I got shards/energy and the shader.

I'd do it twice if I could but only my main is level 29. My first alt is level 26 and the second alt is level 14, so...

That goes for anyone needing someone for a hard mode run next week, I'm free any day outside of Tuesdays as I raid in a top wow guild.

Looking for a regular clear group for hard mode
 
I'm down for a regular Hard Mode VoG run. 6PM EST seemed to work perfectly.

We could dedicate two days for it considering we know what to do now.

My partner was telling me at the end that, apparently the jump between 27 and 28 is pretty huge. Apparently to those final enemies that are 28 the level 27s are doing half the damage that the 28s are doing. Which is why those Harpys were hard to kill.

So I think it's a matter of levelling a little bit still.

Still, it was so amazing. Truly the best part of Destiny.
 
The Raid is a frustrating exercise with people that don't listen. Some guy shouldn't be in the back row because he was inexperienced, but he did. Worse, he picked up the relic too. We were fucked.

At other times the portal wasn't even open in time, while I clearly said they should just remain on the pillars of each portal. I don't get it, when I wasn't among the warp dudes my first time through I never died against those Harpies and never had a closed portal too. I just stayed.

So we didn't finish it today.

Got two Praedith's Revenge though, lol. And a Raid Chest piece... but I already have an exotic chest.
 
A little update from my frustrations a few days ago.

I managed to get in a few games of the Queens wrath missions with some people on my friends list today and scored myself the legendary helmet and chest piece. Then I did the weekly strike and scored legendary leg armor.

The destiny God's must have been shining on me today and it felt pretty good. I now have to get into the mindset of farming for materials now to upgrade everything.

I feel like I'm actually getting somewhere now, which is awesome. So slowly but surely, I'm getting my smile back with the game.

At level 27 the Supplicants are really hard to kill. You basically can't cap a gate without being raped but if you use the middle platform you can support. At 28 it's a completely different situation, you can actually kill them fast enough.
 
Got my first exotic bounty today. Selected A Dubious Task and now I'm the proud owner of invective. Wasn't as difficulty as I thought it would be. Only took a couple hours solo.
 
Got an exotic bounty ticket to pick one of three I already completed. All three have Crucible requirements. I promptly deleted the ticket while telling the bot to fuck off. I ain't doing them again. Nope.
 
How does the game handle range? I use bad seed and always stuck to main sight as you get more stability but just started using the sight with more range and bam, double the crits, all headshots!

Is there a specific level I need to kill Xyor for the (exotic Thorn Bounty)? It's the last part of the exotic bounty. I read that it has to be a lvl26 Strike? So do i have to wait for it to be a weekly? any help is appreciated!

There's a special version of the strike on the Moon map from orbit.
