Yea. He sent in a Giantbomb top 10 GOTY list one yearYo I never knew he played games.
If the main thing you want is good singleplayer, I'd suggest you're the wrong person to review Destiny tbh
It's an intrinsically multiplayer game. Even the combat arenas are clearly designed to be tackled from multiple angles, with multiple players
(not a comment on any complaints about the story and general campaign, which are completely valid imo)

That Gamespot review is harsh
John Carpenter is like the ultimate cool grandpa now. Plus he directed Escape From LA. Come on.
Considering his later output it's probably for the best that he spends his times playing games and not making more sequels to Escape from NY.
The real disappointment for me is the PvP. How could Bungie fail at that? It's like they mailed it in with everything.
Escape from LA is the shit one.
Damn, I agree but it hurts.
Ghosts of Mars..heh
Better story then Destiny though

C'mon people, Big Trouble in Little China, the man is legit
Short term, they wanted a 10 year brand but not only is the Destiny brand in tatters after a few days but the trust and reputation towards Bungie is smashed as well. The consumer won't be so trusting of their next ambitious project, I would say this has done huge damage to them long term.
Dude has made some fucking great films, don't get me wrong. The Thing is one of my all time faves, Big Trouble is a load of fun and Halloween is a classic. But he lost his touch by the time the 90's rolled around. It's for the best that he moved on to other things.
This reviews are...well, strange to me. Seems like they're being shat out as soon as possible and the game was played with a focus on finishing the "story." It's like the antithesis of what Destiny is.
PVP is great once you a) get a good weapon, and b) learn how to play. Hated PVP when I first started playing the beta, now I love it.
Find it funny people are hoping for sub 70 scores... like they care. They sold like 10 million copies in a day
They all play the same and there's a terrible sense of character progression, what's the point? But be my guest to do whatever you want to get your money's worth out of this game, though. Leveling up 3 classes that aren't any different is the definition of tedium to me.Reviews seem overly harsh. Only played like 5 hours and I'm having a blast as I did in the alpha and beta.
And what's this 20 hours nonsense? Unlocking everything and leveling up all 3 classes will take a lot longer than 20 fucking hours.
It's actually kind of broken. Using any primary weapon except the auto rifle puts you at a huge disadvantage. Also, the game still has horrible balance due to some weapons having less recoil, more bullets, or a higher fire rate. They need to give everyone the exact same guns stats wise in pvp.PVP is great once you a) get a good weapon, and b) learn how to play. Hated PVP when I first started playing the beta, now I love it.
More people in a bf match.
Bf is an mmo
Good man, can't wait for D2.
It's funny cause people pointed out because MAG was segmented it wasn't an mmo but apparently destiny with less players is.What did that make MAG besides way ahead of its time#sverforlife
I am glad some reviewers are calling it like they really see it.
Game is really sterile but I'm enjoying it for the most part. The scores are pretty accurate I'd say. The presentation at times is atrocious and they made some baffling design decisions like not being able to access Grimmoire cards in-game which is apparently where the only good storytelling is found.

Despite all of the negative impressions, I still find myself having a pretty damn good time whenever I log in.
Maybe I'm just weird.
I want Bungie to know their game has a shitload of flaws and them to fix it.
Whatever people think about Destiny, the reviews and such...I guarantee Destiny 2 is gonna be f'n awesome. Bungie will redeem themselves.
And they do know, clearly evident by the review scores. Hoping for the reviews to go lower is silly.

Can't argue with either of these.Ghost of Mars has IceCube so its awesome by default
Less people falling for the PR hype for Destiny 2 will hurt big time.
