Find a chest close to an exit to another zone, open it and immediately run to the next zone (you'll know you've transitioned when the name of the zone pops up). Then simply run back and the chest should be where it was previously only it is unopened (rinse and repeat).
This only works if you're:
- Alone in the zone
- with a fireteam who are all running in and out of the zone together (tends to be trickier)
Also, I've noticed the dreadnaught has actual glitching chests (which do not provide any materials when opened) way more than any other zone so keep an an eye on whether or not you actually get any flakes from the chest otherwise go to orbit and return.

Next time, state exactly what you want to do.

Doing the 1-6 list makes it far easier for anyone looking to do a raid to spot your post if they're just scrolling through the thread. I always get a raid 90% of the time using this method.

I've had good luck there. Even just asking for help with the daily quest. Someone usually joins or sends a friend request within 10 minutes.

Not to be a snoop, but looking through some of your posts in the community thread, you're not really asking for anything specific to do. It's just like (and i'm paraphrasing) "someone join me i'm bored"
Probably not gonna get many results with that, instead you need to find something specific like "Need 2 for NF" or "Starting up a fresh KF NM, looking for players." or something like that.

The people buying it (including me) have worked to get those strange coins to pay from it instead of getting lucky with the shitty RNG, so there's that.

I'll probably have no access to my own PS4 for a while (until mid November), but I still have my friend's PS4 nearby.
If I were to buy Destiny right now, would I be able to setup everything on my friend's PS4 in order to buy some of the Halloween DLC, without compromising my experience with my very own system? If so, which steps should I follow in order to do it?
I have little experience with always-online games so I had to ask before pulling the trigger (buying the game asap).

Pretty sure everything saved in the game is server side, so just log in into your PSN account and then destiny and you should be good to go.

Sure, just play with your account on his system. Saves are kept server-side.
Keep in mind though that you will have to play almost an hour before you are at the hub where you can buy these things.

I've been playing for weeks and I never saw saw a single drop. I don't understand why you think it's weird for people who haven't been lucky enough to get it on their own -- and that's what it is, luck -- to purchase it with their strange coins. You really can't trust the RNG.

I just started playing the game again after almost a year's break, and Zhalo is the first weapon Xur offered. I didn't even have to grind Strange Coins, as I had enough of them from before. Feels good, man.

Its a great gun though. Absolutely chews through shields.
Heh, well I did my share of grind for the coins last year, and it took ages back then to get the Suros auto rifle.
Seems like the game gives more coins than before. I've only played through the story missions with my new character, no weekly strikes, and I already got a decent amount of them.
What's a recommended exotic armor for Warlock and Hunter these days, btw?
Taken King story is a lot better, and there's a lot more to do. Once you get to light 300 there is still a hard grind, like the end game of vanilla destiny. But getting there, there is so much to do in terms of story and gear collection. Multiplayer is more varied now as well. It's worth trying, especially because you haven't played the other two expansions.

Random drops aren't hard to get. They're random. Maybe you spent a year grinding for it. Maybe you got it in a 5 minute level 5 Ultra kill.
Exotics in this game aren't and never have been rare. That's not part of their appeal. Everybody has everything sooner or later.
The only truly rare things are particularly good rolls on an attractive Legendary. I'd give somebody my iPhone and television set of they could trade me an Ambush/Snapshot/Hidden Hand 1,000 Yard Stare. *That's* rare.
Year 1, Xur sold every Exotic weapon (excluding those tied to bounties and PlayStation exclusives) 2 or more times. Also, every armor piece (except The RAM) twice or more. Expect him to follow suit this time around.

If you don't have DLC1 and DLC2 you won't be shown the option to buy the $40 version.

Most people got their first Exotic on week 2. Curiously, week 2 was Gjallarhorn. And most launch day players had enough coins for it. But nobody knew it was the strongest weapon in the game.
I, and many others, went for an armor piece instead. Xur would sell Gjallarhorn again in over 50 weeks

I just wondered what would be a good current exotic armor for warlock/hunter. Young Ahamkara's Spine was what I used with my hunter last year, and I recall it had some useful perks.

For my Nighstalker, I really like running Monte Carlo and Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. Sealed Ahamkara gives two melee charges and Monte Carlo recharges melee with damage with a small chance of full recharge on each kill. Combine this with the Nightstalker's grenede melee, and you have incredibly strong territory control.
For Warlock, I've heard Tlaloc and Alchemist Raiment, along with a helmet that regens health on orb pickup is strong.

My warlock uses the 'light beyond nemesis' helmet but I also swap out for alchemist chest piece.
The warlock scout Tlaloc is worth grabbing especially when your super is ready.

Thanks for the info. So, Alchemist Railment is worth a purchase? If so, I can get it now as I have enough strange coins. I read somewhere though, that it's best suited for Sunsinger, and I wouldn't want to restrict myself to one subclass. Tlaloc was recommended with it there as well.
