Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

lol exotics and deserve. Save that for the quest related exotics such as Chaperone.

The RNG exotics are just that, RNG. There isn't much challenge in grinding level 36 strikes with 3 of coins, or do the odd Gatelord kill inbetween other stuff. Its way worse than before, in year 1 exotics usually dropped from end of raid bosses which was more difficult than a Strike or story major every 10 minutes. You could swap gorgon checkpoints for 3 shots but that was about it.

Then you have the guys who had enough coins to rinse Draksis before patch, who had everything already anyway. But only at 290. In the end its been sort of moot, most are looking for 310's. I've already managed to replace Telesto, Graviton, Nighthawk, CoAL, TLW and Monte Carlo.

Why would you buy 2 when after the first one it becomes available for purchase from the exotic blueprints for glimmer, weapon parts, and an exotic shard.
After this last patch, I've been extremely low on weapon parts. I didn't have enough for upgrading gear, let alone to purchase anything at the exotic kiosk. I have been swimming in strange coins, though. So buying two wasn't an issue at all.

its pretty but useless unless you play sunsinger firebro and heart of praxis fire is always the way to go imho
Yep, Friday morning to Sunday morning. Always thought it was kinda dumb he leaves early on Sunday, I wish they'd extend Xur to Sunday night or Monday morning.

Hopefully Heart of Praxis Fire turns up at some point, and yeah, it's odd that the store is not open for the whole weekend.

Praxis fire was sold about a month ago. So it might be a while till it comes again.

Got my first exoctic drop in the wild the other day. :-) For a class I don't play :-(

There really should be an ingame economy. I don't have the time to play 2 other alts. Ended up just sharding it and used the shard to infuse my zhalo.

Also feel like the quests are drying up but I'm certain I haven't done anywhere near all of them. What can I do to trigger some of them?

How does Infusion work? Can I infuse my 273 scout rifle with a 280 auto rifle?

You can infuse a Legendary or Exotic weapon with another weapon of of the same class with a higher attack value. So infuse a primary with another primary, heavy with another heavy etc.

To infuse, select the weapon you want to upgrade (Weapon A), select infuse, then select the weapon you want to infuse with (Weapon B). The infusing process will delete Weapon B, and costs glimmer, weapon parts and motes.

For your example, If you want to increase the attack of your 273 scout, and it's a Legendary, then yes, you could use your 280 auto to do this.

Wait Xur leaves at 5 fucking am on sundays? Djdugaydifkkslkh whose great idea is that

I'm pissed

Time zones, dude. America gets Xur all day on Friday, but in AU, he rocks up to the tower half way through Friday evening. But then he stick around until Sunday evening.

I finally tried the KF raid. Wow, what bullshit. Stupid jumping, nonsensical boss fights and lots of standing around. Never again, the opposite reason of why I play games. What stupid shit we do in loot whore games, we should be ashamed of ourselves and demand better.

What was Bungie thinking? "Hey, lets make them fall to their deaths over and over, then make them move orbs around and jump on platforms and make them shoot and stand in the exact spot for the exact time - anything goes wrong start over!"

What you call stupid, I call fun. Coordinated fun. It's a blast.

I like the mechanics personally. Requires everyone to have a job and execute it.

It's a shooter, not cirque soleil! I'm not sure that "stand here, run here, jump up here, not too long!" is fun. If the rewards were missing, would anyone do it for fun?

What did you want the raids to be? 6 people shooting a boss with 0 mechanics?

Stick to your day job.

The platforming is my favorite part of the KF raid. I love being the relic runner on the Sisters.

Golgoroth was my favorite battle in the raid, but it got lame once everyone figured it out was much easier to jump out of the pit after the first puddle, instead of running from puddle to puddle.

I appreciate the variety it brings. There's plenty of time for shooting things in this game....

Yes. The raid is the best piece of content that Destiny has to offer. Plus, they are fun.

Go play strikes and hope for a bullet sponge boss. That'll solve all your problems.

smh.

What on earth did you expect? Stand there and shoot stuff and nothing else? This is a raid that has more complex mechanics. That's the point.

The raids are the best thing about Destiny.

I just started playing the game again after almost a year's break, and Zhalo is the first weapon Xur offered. I didn't even have to grind Strange Coins, as I had enough of them from before. Feels good, man.

Was the first exotic I got in the taken king. From my first nightfall. Got it to 309 atm. Love it.

HOLY COW, I just figure I could use Mote of Lights to boost xp on Weapons. Got black spindle, 30 seocnds later, fully upgraded bwahahaha now all my vault of exo weapons is done upgraded ^^

What was Nintendo thinking? "Hey, let's make them fall to their deaths over and over, then make them hit blocks with their heads and jump around on platforms and shoot fireballs and stand in certain spots for a certain amount of time-- anything goes wrong, start over!"

Eh I can see his point. I don't play Destiny to do platforming jumping challenges or choreographed dance moves, I play to shoot aliens in the face. Those "complex mechanics" don't interest me in the slightest.

Raids are complex because they are called raids. Otherwise they wouldn't be a raid. They'd be a Strike.

That stuff has been in destiny since nearly day one, my friend. Where have you all been? Well, I guess it's to each his own. A straight up shooter has been done to death, in my opinion. It's nice to see some variety in gameplay.

I'm glad folks enjoy them but I've never done a raid in this game and have no plans to. Strikes are more what I want out of the game, I just wish there were more of them.

How did you feel about the Skolas fight in PoE? That's less platform-y and more "shoot the aliens face" with only some choreography.

Yeah and I can respect that. Too much for me tho. Love the simplicity of Strikes.

Maybe its because I didn't grow up with MMOs nor have they ever really appealed to me either really, so the whole concept is... its just sort of there for me

I've never done PoE, I quit vanilla before the xpacs and these days I just assumed it was old irrelevant content. Do people still queue up for PoE?

Then don't play the raids. Calling them stupid because it's too complex or different is ridiculous.

No, not really. Some people will grind the lvl 28 PoE for strange coins and motes, but there's not much reason to do them outside of that and maybe collecting old Year 1 guns.

Hardly anyone ever did even when it was "relevant" content. The rewards for PoE have never been considered worthwhile by many players.

There are still people who play it though, to get strange coins or level up or just to get more variety from the gameplay. I haven't had a problem being matched in it.

EDIT: PoE was a cool idea, I just wish that they would refresh it so you can get more current gear. That way it would still be relevant in year two.

Sounds like you just want to shoot shit mindlessly, in which case there's plenty of strikes you can do that in.

The raids (outside of maybe Crota's End, which is still pretty solid) have gotten tons of praise and are easily the best pieces of content in the game IMO.

More like "a handful" - my main complaint right now is the small amount of Strikes available in the current rotation.

There are a lot more strikes available in the game than are in the playlist rotation. The reason for this remains a(nother) Bungie mystery to me. I'd love to run a strike playlist that actually put you into all of the strikes- crazy idea, I know.

On days when you just want to kick back and mindlessly kill stuff to relieve stress, there's nothing better than patrolling a destination for an hour or so with no major objectives to worry about. Just take in the scenery, kill a bunch of low level mobs, race around on the sparrow, ect.

I'm glad folks enjoy them but I've never done a raid in this game and have no plans to. Strikes are more what I want out of the game, I just wish there were more of them.

This is why Destiny has such a wide variety in activities. Both PvE and PvP have mainline activities, mid-end game and what I call the hardcore endgame. For PvE the regular content is missions, quests, patrols, Vanguard strikes, the mid endgame the later stages of the Taken War, daily heroic missions and heroic/Nightfall strikes. The raids are very much the peak of the endgame and don't appeal to everyone, but are very important for a subset of the population. I don't think anyone (including Bungie) expects every activity to appeal to everyone. (On the PvP end of things it's regular Crucible -> Iron Banner -> Trials of Osiris.)

I like the raids but strikes are more my cup of tea, especially the direction the new strikes took (which incorporate some raid-lite mechanics). But that presents a challenge for Bungie to span such a wide array of activities, and so players who are only interested in a subset of activities are always wanting more. As a fan of story missions and strikes I think TTK was pretty robust, while the raiding community got a pretty enormous raid (relative to the year 1 raids); TTK straddled things pretty well. But we'll always want more of what we like.

There are a lot more strikes available in the game than are in the playlist rotation. The reason for this remains a(nother) Bungie mystery to me. I'd love to run a strike playlist that actually put you into all of the strikes- crazy idea, I know.

We ran the old strikes for a year, and when the old expansions came out, people wanted to play the new strikes more than the older ones for the variety. The current Vanguard playlist only has the new strikes or the ones that got new variations so people can play the new stuff; I'm guessing the older strikes will be folded into the mix before too much longer.

And Bo-YA-KAAAA!! Life is worth it!

Really, I was equally excited to discover this. :)
