So is that a no? PC version already had those features.

Pretty lame if so. I love remasters and hate the prevalent remasters suck mentality on Gaf, but even im sick of lazy remasters with no effort put in to modernize the graphics engine.

The fans are more interested in the new content and gameplay tweaks.

In that regard this is one of the best remasters out there.

They're adding three new characters. With how deep DMC4 was, that's pretty huge.

Don't see how it's lazy when they adding way more content then we previously thought. I mean who knew there would be other new playable characters besides Vergil.

The game already looks better than 75% of games today. The additions to this are gameplay related, and when you consider them, they're absolutely huge. There's no way this is a lazy remaster. Lazy remaster would be to upres textures, up the resolution, up the framerate, include all existing DLC, and call it a day. That's what most remasters are nowadays.

Somehow I see this as them shying away from making an actual DMC5.

STAP IT. If this sells well enough then they have all the numbers they need as proof for doing DMC 5.

LETS ALL SHOW OUR SUPPORT!

My only frustration is that it's coming out in June and the Canadian Dollar value sucks with no end in sight. I pray for some good gaming deals around that time.

Take my money!

MT framework putting in work still? This game still looks better visually than 99% of games out there, its insane considering how good it runs on all HW.

1080p should be nothing for the new gen consoles, 1440p downsampled would be something to see on PS4

Yup, such a gorgeous game!

The fuck? They're adding three new playable characters and you're bitching that the particle effects aren't cutting edge or some shit?

THIS is exactly what a remaster should be. Calling it lazy just...breaks my brain.

Well, the PR mentions "visual improvments"
But yeah, look at other remasters out there, they are adding less for $40, just yesterday a remaster of God of War 3 was announced, DMC 4 is great for fans of the game and series, major problem is digital only :/

Gameplay is the focus here. Most people play these games to explore the game mechanics not. The graphics are more than sufficient in this case.

So, on Steam, will this work like Ultra Street Fighter IV where I can buy a "digital upgrade DLC" if I already have the base game or will I have to repurchase the entire game? I tried checking the Steam page but it just tells me I'm not allowed to view it.

(Not that I'd mind double dipping for such a great game that much but it'd still be nice to save some dosh.)

Even at its release. Itsuno and pals must have been the masters of optimization. They made a good action game that looks visually amazing even to this day, and on top of that is probably the most flexible in terms of power requirements i've seen yet from a 7th gen game, only PS2 games have that kind of power leeway.

I heard that some guy on here was able to get 8K at locked 60fps with a single 980(or was it 970?) with an i5. That's INSANE.

And it was already locked 60 at full 720p with 2xMSAA on 360 from what i remember playing of it.

With that kind of flexibility, 1440p on PS4 should be doable if they use post process AA. They may want to go for 4xMSAA though and just keep it at 1080p. We'll see.

im willing to bet it will be considered an entirely new game release

Wonder if they'll fix the shithouse enemy/stage design. Adding a few more enemy behaviours/some other enemies that don't blow ass would do this game wonders.

I'd rather remasters with new content and a resolution upgrade than the ones we've gotten so far.

Never got around to buying/playing 4, so I think I'm gonna end up picking this one up. Seems like there's enough content to be worth it!

Original PC port was fantastic - on old HD4850 itran 1920x1080p@60fps@ultra

I was fcking waiting for 10 year to play as Lady - its gonna be 10th anniversary

but whydo I need to finish missions as nero/dante to unlock Lady/Trish?
I already beat the game twice (ps3 then pc).

Please stop this "unlock after u finish game" bullstuff.

I guess requesting a co-op bloody palace would be too much to ask for at that price, but oh well.

For all you guys wanting a DMC 5 ask Capcom what will happen if sales surpass 2 million+.

Maybe it'll be like DMC3:SE where there are codes for the unlockables. I sure hope so.
