Devil May Cry 4 SE: Vergil, Trish & Lady Playable, Release Date 18th of June

Would like them to buff Dante overall tbh, sounds like he might end up lagging behind Vergil by quite a bit.

Story of his life. :p

Vergil will never have the sheer number of options that Dante has. Because of this, Dante is able to be played however you want and with whatever tools you want. That's his core strength.

I'm very much down for plenty of other Dante stuff getting buffed, but DRI needs to be toned way down because it is genuinely broken.

Like I said, RG could use a buff back up to DMC3 levels; I'd also be down for giving Dante the Table Hopper moves (don't see why not) in addition to his Trickster stuff. I also honestly think base Rebellion and Shotgun damage could use a minor boost.

How do you guys think this well run on PC? I have a GTX460 I'd rather get it on PC than PS4. How did DMC4 run?

That's pretty much why I don't enjoy playing as Vergil as much as Dante.

I'm absolutely loving all these updates. June can't come soon enough.

This is my rig for DMC4

It maxes the game at 4k120FPS with 8x SSAA, I think you'll be fine

DMC4 ran incredibly well on even low-end systems. You should be able to run it fine.

DMC4 was an incredible port that scaled extremely well. It could run on a toaster.

Sweet. I don't know why I was thinking it wouldn't run well for me, I guess I forgot it came out in 2008 (and I build my pC in 2011).

I think Beowulf JCing is easier than Gilgamesh JCing, but Killer Bee is the easiest JC in DMC3 so it's not a representative example.

I mean in general it feels harder in DMC3 with Killer Bee as the only exception. I always gain height far too quickly in DMC3, whereas in DMC4 I have some luck staying in the same place during Aerial Rave jump canceling.

So can I complain that they didnt fix literally the only major issue which was lack of unique levels? seriously why make 3 more playable characters and no new levels.

Yeah it sucks but what can you do? The point about repeated levels has been made many times and I am sure Capcom/Itsuno know about this by now.

Probably not enough money in the budget and/or time to do both. (Says a lot that two of the new characters already had character models in the game to work from.)

Personally, I'd take three new fleshed out characters over new stages any day.

Well at least Vergil gets to play in more levels than if he would if he was only in some pre-DMC4 campaign levels (probably only 5-7 missions with limited bosses). I know people wanted Sam in MGR to be able to play Raiden's campaign.. But I think they maybe could have tried to add some kind of alternate traversal for Vergil scrapped together from existing areas of the levels.

They are not going to rework a 7 year old game, this is more to prepare for a sequel and give fans something to look forward to, although a few new enemies or a boss would be appreciated.

Yup, in DMC a new stage will give me 1-2 hours worth of new content. A new character will easily give me 10+.

I'm glad they decided to go the route of more characters instead of more stages.

I don't think this is a valid excuse anymore now that we are getting 3 new playable characters.

I really wish you guys wouldn't assume DMC5 is a done deal. I get the impression you all think that DMC4SE will have a teaser for DMC5 or something.

Otherwise it would mean that Itsuno's team was working on a whole lot of nothing since 2012.

He is definitely not involved with Dragon's Dogma and unless Capcom finally let him work on a fighting game, DMC5 is probably where he's at.

He and Kobayashi also said that they have more projects to announce for release in 2015.

Doubt DMC5 would be released in 2015 without a prior announcement already...

DMC5 ain't coming out in 2015... no way son.

But it being announced in 2015 is likely.

DMC4SE releasing during E3.... come on now!

I assumed Itsuno took a long break after DD, which was the longest developed title in Capcom's history. DMC4SE is still in development, and they likely got something to follow up afterward, definitely.

Speaking of Dragon's Dogma, the original title deserved way better. It was Capcom's best title of the last gen, and it barely reached a million sold. I'm sure they knew it had to be an investment (which allowed DDO to exist), rather than an instant success, but should've been bigger and it showed that Capcom are some of the most brilliant designers in the industry. Itsuno is a genius, and with all due respect guys, he should working on something much larger in scope than DMC.

The remasters they are doing seem like the perfect set up.

That's right. We had three remasters from Capcom this year. REHD, DmC DE, and DMC4SE. And both of those franchises had two titles released this year. So I would definitely assume that they've got something coming up for both after 2015.

But, DMC is already one of Capcom's most popular franchises, and he seems to enjoy working on it, why would you say such a thing?

As much as I love his work on DMC, if there is a DMC 5, it should be his last DMC title. He shouldn't be shackled to one franchise and I think DMC 5 would bring all his gameplay ideas to their logical conclusion. DMC 6 would need to go off in a different direction.

If Capcom is around by that time period or not regulated to mobile only. I think if DMC5 sells mediocre it probably will be the last entry in the series..

I'm sure he does like working on it, but Dragon's Dogma was actually his dream game. His original design doc was INCREDIBLY ambitious, featuring parallel timelimes/dimensions, larger world, and even exploration on the moon. And the game we got, even with a comparatively smaller scope, was pretty damn epic.

Again, I'm not knocking DMC, nor am I saying it's small potatoes (because it's not), but the scope of the game, compared to DD is much smaller. He should be doing something bigger, and grander. That's all I meant by it.

Right now Capcom needs safe hits rather than ambitious new IPs. That's why DD is being into an Online game... it's a safe bet for them.

Capcom also desperately needs to get the fanbase back for DMC. DMC4SE is a step in the right direction (as was DmC DE) but they need to put out a proper DMC5 to really get the series rolling again. Only person at Capcom who can make an amazing DMC5 is Itsuno.

And Capcom is already making a new IP.. it's called Deep Down.

Well, , after working not working on DMC since 4, he must have a lot of fresh ideas for the series too, while its too soon to say anything about a DMC 6, im glad he is back for now.
It would just not be the same without Itsuno.

As long as Itsuno has the ambition to do so, I think it's perfectly fine for Itsuno to continue working on DMC. I don't want to see him get burnt out, but he clearly still has ideas and I don't think he's seeing himself shackled to it.

He also said he wanted to have a crack at a Rival Schools and a few other IPs in a recent interview. A larger world doesn't make for a larger project. Dragon's Dogma may have been larger in scope, but it just featured a different type of depth entirely from Capcom's other games.

And if nothing else, the sooner that Itsuno showcases that DMC is "back on track" on his watch, perhaps the more amiable the suits will be to granting some of his other wishes, and only doing more to foster much needed growth at Capcom.

I'd still like to see what his "re-inventing the fighting game" idea could stand to be like, fully realized. And with Neo_G on hand to help him, it'd likely be awesome.

They best teaser they could possibly put in is to just change the ending so slightly. Just add 2 words of dialog to Dante as he walks away.

"Dante, will we meet again?"

...

...

"Sure, kid."

and Dante does his 2 finger wave thing and the ending continues like normal.
