It's tradition - DMC1 started off with the Oedipal subtext between Dante and Trish, and a sizeable portion of 3's fan following was built on the tenuous prospect of fraternal incest; which 4 continued with the immensely popular uncle/nephew relationship between Dante and Nero. It could be argued that DMC2 and DmC's true failing was the lack of any new relatives to pair with Dante - for 5 to have any hope of succeeding, these grave flaws have to be amended.

It could very well be a mistake. The guy in the video says it'll be released this summer and September 30th is in fall.
 
The triangle + circle inputs would have bothered me a bit before Shadow of Mordor, but now I've destroyed so many uruks I don't even care anymore.

DmC totally failed with Uncle Mundus and Dante relationship.
Well, the SE already has a better love story than Dante X Kat.
 
Playing DMC3 on PC is still a bust for the most part for me so I re-acquired the HD collection.
I need to get my Vergil goodness in now to compare later!

When the DMC4 final trailer was announced, it tried to mislead people by showing Nero consumed by darkness then suddenly showing his first DT scene ("I NEED MOAR POWAH"). Everyone thought Nero was some kind of Vergil reincarnate, or had Vergil's arm, etc. etc.

Well beserk Nero was kinda cool and I wish there was a bit more of that.

There is no need for a special edition though, there are only two cutscenes. this clearly implies she is Nero` s mother. could be that the ending expands on this, but i doubt it, probably going to focus on something else

Besides trailers always do that, the story of DMC 4 was clear from the first chapters, this is a cutscene, not a trailer.

Most likely. In the trailer we hear him saying, "The Order of the Sword..huh?" and "They worship a demon as a god?" He's more than likely referring to the Order with skepticism when he mutters
about their intentions.

That's a good point. The original DMC4 trailer also had Dante sounding super evil throughout, with Reuben doing his best badguy voice possible.

The only reason why I'm reluctant to apply that logic here is that the cutscene looks to be from the intro in tact and without framing/cutting or being part of a trailer. We also know there's only two cutscenes, so it'd be odd to just waste the little time they have for exposition. It's also questionable if this guy was supposed to show this part of the cutscene since no one else has so far.
 
Still so hyped about being able to play as Lady. This was honestly the deciding factor for me wanting to get this (likely won't get it day 1 though).

Her cutscenes in DMC3 were the best

Cutscene looks awesome, Vergil's model still looks really bad when seen up close in it though. He really doesn't fit in with the rest of the game's assets.

Glad I imported now but I really hope that September 30th date is incorrect. There's no reason this ought to come out any more than a week or two after the Japanese version.
 
I don't believe that September release date. Maybe EU date but even that seems suspect.

If it's really coming at that time for NA then I am pre-ordering + importing which I haven't done since RE Outbreak for the DMC3 demo.

I'd just import it anyway. Even if the gap isn't that huge, there will almost certainly be a delay between the Asian and western releases.

Depends on the shipping method. Sometimes it just takes a week or so. It should give you a rough estimate when you order.

Main reason I'm in for the SE.

If that Sept. 30 date is true then I'm going to import I think it is a mistake though
 
Yah you'd think capcom would want to get out the game during summer while people will be starving for something to play. Not during the fall when the next big wave of releases will be coming..

It'd also be critical to getting people on board if, say, DMC5 is at all teased at E3 and you want to have something available and palpable for people to play while they wait on the hype train to TGS and beyond.

I only got into the DMC series with 3, so I never got to know Trish. I'm sure she's cool, but Lady deserved to be playable a long time ago. I probably would've tried MvC3 if she had been in it too ...

uh, it was not good, fun for awhile but gets tedious and boring with large maps filled with enemies, kind of an srpg.

but here is Lady
supposedly the sequel is fixing many issues so it could be decent.

It makes perfect sense, Vergil is still half human and a teenager, maybe he just noticed and didn` t care, never knew about Nero,, i think the novel said she was a prostitute, likely they changed that, but still.

this doesn`t necessarily betray his character, but explores it a bit more.

lol, what type of "cutesy"? Vergil could show affection without being exaggerated like Nero or Dante, but he being a bad father (or dead) is more likely at this point, to prepare for an antagonist role.

Trish gameplay footage. The source is the same off-cam that we've seen before, however this one has the Trish gameplay without any cuts or breaks. And it showed me a lot of new things that I hadn't seen before in the other Trish videos. I've edited out the Vergil and Lady bits we've seen before.

I think it's so p.i.m.p that the concentration gauge goes up when you allow Vergil to sheath his Yamato as opposed to canceling out of the animation.

Also it seems phantom blades imbued in enemies explode if you let the Yamato sheath animation play out fully.

edit: yes, cutscenes are canon. gameplay is not. vergil wouldn't have force edge or beowulf if that weren't the case.
