The pain of Sony killing Killzone its way too much..... Damn I even liked shadow fall.

I still remember the first time I played K2....damn I love that game.

Isn't Guerrilla Games big enough to make horizon and Killzone almost at same time??

The thing is Killzone had 4 games and only Killzone 2 was amazing. The first one was below average. 3 was...okayish and the last one was boring af.

I also think the game peaked in sales with Killzone 2.

That Sonic x Shadow Generations is nuts. Next Gen with some slow downs and NS can't hold 30 and still have frame pace issues. And no fucking Anisotropic Filtering in 2024 is madness.
Looks like the game is using trillinear filter.

Rich was acting dumbfounded over 3 years after the consoles’ releases whenever the PS5 held the performance advantage. He kept going on about his 12 TFLOPs. Only took 4 years for him to realize that this was meaningless when that Crytek engineer said so almost 5 years ago but got shat on. Just a few months ago, he still couldn’t comprehend why the PS5 sometimes pulled ahead.

The TFLOPs wars was never a thing except if you were a moron.

Pretty wild Oliver doesn't notice the extreme ghosting in Horizon FW it's probably the downside of not using ML with an upside of having a more stable image. I would assume if Gorilla used PSSR they would've had the best solution they might be waiting for a more mature iteration who knows but it's undeniable they're one of the best in the biz at graphics tech.

I dunno. Not convinced a gorilla could get good results. Are they good game devs?

Thank you, well spoken.

The only reason anyone ever cared about Killzone was because it was a Sony exclusive, especially during the PS3 era when they needed all the help they could get to stay in the race with Microsoft. I'm glad the developers are doing something else now.

It’s as bad as EA killing titanfall!

Odd because they noticed immediatly the very slight blurring in TLOU2 with PSSR and you needed a strong zoom to see that one. But yes no need of a zoom to see Horizon FW stuff is not up to the task vs AI upscaling.

There is an onQ123 thread for that

Good to see Wayfinder get a gong. Flying well under the radar, but its seriously good, especially given the cost of entry. I laughed when Oliver said choice of 3 players, he really really hasn't played much yet.

I wonder if anyone that streams the games only without the console if it would upgrade to use pssr which would lower the ms input without sacrificing image quality?

Sony didn't kill Killzone, Guerrilla just didn't/doesn’t have the interest to work with the series anymore (or at least for the time being). I'm sure some other studio could take over the franchise if there's a market for it.

Are tflop wars Dead as a marketing strategy to grow the console space? Sure.

In practicality? No.

Besides, yall will be arguing about TOPS next gen anyway.

I love Horizon and I'm glad Guerilla moved on from KZ to make it. Horizon is one of the best new IPs I've played in a long time. The setting and story is just fantastic to me.

With that said I really enjoyed Shadowfall. I almost dropped it because it was just kind of "ok" at first and then in like chapter 3 the story really gets going and I was blown away by how good it was. I loved the way they ended it.

If Sony is so desperate for a live service or GASS or MP online game, they should had not wasted there money on twisted woke infested Concord. Instead they should have made Killzone, Resistance or Socom there Multi Player game.

Man i really hope they compare the Pro AW2 modes to a PC with a ~7700XT, based on TechPowerUp release patch benchmarks i feel like the Pro should be doing way better than what they showed thus far. Kinda disappointed here.

That's it for me then... no more Guerrilla Games if they won't even try again with Killzone.
Did you see how they went all out for KillZone on PS4 but the masses didn't care so they had every right to move on to something different & the result was them selling way more than KillZone ever sold.

Gotta disagree here my friend. HFW new proprietary upscaling solution produced better results than any PSSR implementation so far. The closest like for like would be TLOU with a 1440p internal resolution and absent any RT features; image stability is phenomenal and looks to be on par with DLSS (possibly even better, we'll have to wait for more content/comparisons). But this shouldn't be a surprise as it us a custom solution tailor made for the Decima engine. PSSR is still doing amazing things as a general purpose ML upscaler.

Yeah I agree that's what I said there's an upside of a more stable image but the ghosting is distracting it reminded me of Xess. I guess I have a much higher tolerance for some temporal instability vs ghosting trails but it seems these type of solutions will always have their pros and cons

If it's not using ML hardware there is nothing stopping them from using it on regular PS5, other than performance penalty.
