Silent Hill 2 Remake PS5 Pro Patch Is Still In The Pipeline

Remedy on console it's not a good match. They could at least update the PSSR (the last patch anyway added good stuff) with the last version but they haven't the resources neither the interest I imagine.
Replacing that PSSR.DLL is incredible resource intensive.
We all honestly know it's all there is to it probably lol

At this point, I've given up on the PS5 version. I just want a stuttering fix for PC so I can buy it on GOG and finally just play the thing.

His PC isn't good, he playing MHWild in 1080p DLSS Performance (1080p/2) with a 2060 and 30fps lock.

Just an usual PCMR troll
you are stuck on the 2060 yet ? geez

would you mind to share your ps5 screenshot for us to compare with my "RTX2060 1080p ( 540p DLSS performance 30fps lock" screenshot ??

I see the Deluxe Edition is on sale and would likely have purchased it if the new PS5 Pro patch was already out and proven to be an improvement.

Its not.. Im playing it right now.. in the beginning at the open areas the shimmering is quite annoying.. after it moves to close and dark environments (hospital) the problem kind of goes away..

No perfomance problems at perfomance mode. Locked 60 fps (or feels like it)

Honestly its not that bad. (After the first area)

Kickass game btw.. awsome

If they really can deliver a patch with the PSSR at the same level of AC Shadow it's better wait. The IQ will be almost transformative compared based console.

I don't know what's gotten into me but I'm not buying a Pro until this is out. Sony will fucking hear me roar and cower!!!!

More like I've become a petty weirdo willing to buy a Pro when he can replay a game with slightly better graphics.

im an idiot GIF

I refuse to buy it to, until they fix the PS5 Pro patch.
It's really ugly on pro.
I finished it in quality mode on base console and it looked WAY better than 30fps mode on pro. PSSR broke the graphics.
The 60fps mode is just as useless because it cuts down on lumen or something

I'm gonna do Bloober a solid here. I know they're reading this. Open the config file with Notepad. CTRL+F PSSR. Change the =1 to =0.

You're welcome fellas! Now fix the combat plz.

Hysterically hyperbolic. Apart from very few, very selective screens this game runs perfectly fine in either mode on PS5 pro.

i still can't believe the patch isn't out, like how much time has passed? wild.

8 months give or take...

...and this is why I didn't want Bloober to develop this, they're just technically incompetent, I KNEW that something like this would happen.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game but between the ugly and weirdly animated character models (those facial animations eurghhh), technical problems (shimmer/pixel crawling/framerate dips), buggy camera, melee that bugs out some times ...this game deserved a much better and competent developer.

Just look at Silent hill f, the graphics are way ahead of this one, Bloober is...Bloober with everything that entails.

Maybe some hyperbolic but all reflections and lumens just wobbles all the time. It didn't do that on base ps5.
it's not game breaking. If no patch was planned, I would recommend playing anyway

No. They don't wobble All the time. Only in very few scenes. If people like you only played games that run absolutely flawless u wouldn't have any games to play at all.

I have a feeling Silent Hill f will come out looking great on Pro at 60 fps and Bloober would still be "working with Sony"
this is insane that these patches take months.
We all know they drop a fucking dll in there and enable the ini file... or with UE5 games, they just update it because epic probably have a pssr plugin.
And sony 10000% have guides for developers and is ready to send engineers to help out

Not in my opinion. SH2 on PC looks fucking amazing.

This game was immposible to make, almost HL3 levels of expectations from fans - immposible to meet. Yet, Blooper delivered and exceeded expectations in some aspects.

I fully agree that game is weaker in technical side, it shouldn't have stuttering on PC and Pro version should be MUCH better. They basically abandoned it after few weeks of patches, compare that to CDPR of Techland that deliver patches for years...

The issue may be the base UE version they are using for SH2. If they need to upgrade UE5 to a major release to get better results out of PSSR, it may complicate things as upgrading UE can break so many other dependencies. Don't know if Silent Hill f is using PSSR or they are sticking to just improved base resolution. Their little blurb on pro support didn't say much at all. I can see some very minor shadow flickering in their trailer footage captured on Pro and they are clearly not using HWRT, but would need more trained eyes to comment on the numbers and upscaling used.

They are bad at coding and making their own games. What do you expect? Quality? DLC?

Game is much bigger and complex than SH2 original, it's not 1:1 remake like Demon's Souls. They created a lot of stuff from scratch.

I don't get why Blooper is so hated: Layers of Fear was mediocre but Observer was legit good game. Medium in my opinion is a very solid title.

It's not Bloobers concept. Neither is The Blair Witch. The Medium is walking with no combat or substance. None of their concepts hold merit so they have to use others work to build a name for themselves. Just like their new horror game copying Dead Space. They are a joke and a cheap indie dev for Konami. Just like Silent Hill f being developed by a studio from China, Hong Kong. It's not a Japanese developed game.

They build combat system for SH2 from scratch, it's way better than what original had. Your post looks like irrational hate to me.

SH2re is a completely different fan base. Also, the combat is just a better version of Homecoming. Anything they come up with is not their concept. We now live in a world where people copy and milk existing IP's. There is nothing new and innovative anymore. SH2re could have been much better in the right hands, but the SH title is slapped on it, so who cares? It will sell to brainlets. Konami received its money. Bloober received their fan base. And you won't get your DLC because Bloober is mediocre.

Surprised Fire GIF

It's been almost now maybe just over 6 months since PS5 Pro launch and this game silent hill 2 has still visual issue. I have reached out to both Konami and bloober team and no one has responded back acknowledging these issues or bugs whatever you call it.

Meanwhile if anyone knows any solution for PS5 Pro let me know here.
Thanks and have uploaded the link showing exactly what kind of issue I am talking about below:👇

related to the UE5 update maybe

How many UE5 games even use higher version than 5.2?
I tried googling around for a while and came to the conclusion that 95% of UE5 titles use 5.2 or lower version of UE5 and that upgrading games to a higher version is a monumental task.
Dunno how true it is.

Guess depends how much they have "customized" the UE5 for their purpose. If they haven't touched the native version shouldn't be that tough update it from what I read here an there.

Should be functional out of the gate. The time has passed, many have played it already, the experience has already been sullied.

Folks paid nearly $300 extra for a better console and full price for a game that stated it supported it, being able to experience the fruits of that extra cost day one is reasonable.

Being presented with a noisy, ugly slurry of an image and then either having to hold off on playing the game or replay it at a later date to get a technically competent experience just isn't acceptable, nor is having to revert to the settings of the base version.

Everyone involved needs to do better up front.

The fix it later mentality is ridiculous. IF the game isn't ready they should delay it, and if the Pro functionality isn't good or complete then communicate that to the audience and make it clear it'll come later (in a better form). Reality is they just implemented Pro functionality poorly and though they could get away with releasing it like that, games shouldn't be okay with that.

$300 USD more? It was $200 higher than the base.

Anyway I didn't buy the Pro for this game, but I get what you mean

They said they are working with Sony to update it.

There is still people, who haven't played this because they are waiting on a patch? Wow you guys have great patience. No way I could have waited that long before playing it.

I started, but then thought a patch was imminent, so I quit. Just haven't started back up yet. Not sure if it's patience.
