DF: Final Fantasy Rebirth on PS5 Pro "In Person the End Result was More Impressive Than Expected, the Leap was Larger than Anticipated"

it's that because PS5 version was total shit, difference here is much bigger than in Ratchet or The last of us (that had competent image quality on normal console).

final fantasy xvi on pc is like that, it had shit image quality on ps5 so even Dlss performance (4k from 1080p base) looks amazing compared to that.

There is only one version currently, so nothing else to compare it against. Still, the quality mode looked great to me on PS5, but obviously ran at 30fps. Performance mode did look too blurry for me to use.

Soon we'll have the best of both worlds.

30fps mode was unplayable to me so I had to complete it in that shit performance mode...

square enix had options available to deliver better image quality in this game (taau or even fsr2 would look better than this) but they simply didn't care enough. At least they are active with pro launch.

Isn't that good news though? Pro owners can guarantee impressive improvements even in radical cases like ff7R

Another thread on this? Just add it to the other one lol.

Ffvii rebirth clearly looks bobbins in performance mode on ps5 so this jump looks really nice. It's good for those who want to revisit it though. Or play it for the first time.

I discovered something bizarre with both Remake and Rebirth on PS5

This may vary for others, but for me, I found that the 30fps modes are broken when playing on an M.2 SSD expansion. When I moved them to the PS5 built in storage, the 30fps mode in both games were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy less choppy, and felt really smooth. Night and day difference.

For anyone who can't stand the choppy feeling of quality modes in these games, try moving them to internal PS5 storage.

Rebirth to me still doesn't look great in quality mode, but it doesn't look choppy playing this way at least.

What are you talking about?

You literally can't even visually tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps without a framecounter.

let's wait and see frame rate in this game when it releases, not on 3gp quality video.

Of course it's good. but final fantasy had 1080p resolution at worst, that's still much higher than some of the worst offenders this gen (that drop to 720p even), it just had total dog shit upscaling. I wonder how pssr will work with games that have native res below 1080p.

So someone who hasn't played it says it's a huge difference. lol

I expect it to be because the base ps5 was very blurry but it just hit me as funny.
