Is that supposed to be "lol console version"? cuz there are still mouse controls on the bottom.

MrDenny said:What class do you think will be most/least popular?
TURNCLOAK said:Wow, those skeletons aren't kidding with their gold coins...
Trickster said:Most popular - Wizard
People will want to have one simply because they consider it the sorceress of D3, which means it will be associated with being the class you want to use for item farming. Also, it looks pretty awesome so far tbh, cool spells that will undoubtedly be even more awesome with runestones.
Least popular - Witch Doctor
They don't really have the cool factor, the male WD looks like an old guy with parkinsons disease. Their gear outside of their helmets hardly looks like armor, but more like tribal clothes.
They're also the pet class, they get small grey zombie dogs, small spiders, frogs etc, they're not really impressive to look at, and you're not even the one controlling the pets to go kill monsters. Their non pet spells seem quite effective looking at beta streams, but the wizard spells are much appealing to the mass audience imo.
This is just my guess for the release of the game.
Seems a lot like it was in Diablo 2 to me.
Durante said:Holy shit, this looks even worse than the press shots. (Sorry, I just saw some beta screenshots for the first time)
It's a bit like the "revolution" when LCD displays where first introduced: much worse than what we had for years.
MrDenny said:btw, how many people can join a game?
Is it 4 max for party and a game?
nacire said:Edit - Also found my first legendary - A lower level sword. It was laying on an anvil in the cemetery where I had been many times before. It was just randomly sitting there.
nacire said:Hit the lvl 13 cap on my DH and my Blacksmith has been fully upgraded 3 times now. I can craft some awesome shit, but cant use any of it due to the level cap unfortunately.
So far I have lvl 13 DH, lvl 12 Monk, lvl 9 Barb, and lvl 5 Wiz. I'll likely get the wizard and a WD to 10 before going back and maxing them all out. I'm really liking all of the classes so far, though they all definitely feel different from one another.
It does seem as of now there are some throw away skills for every class, but maybe there is some synergy between them and other abilities down the road. Either way with such a limited set of active skills, there really are some must haves in my opinion. Hopefully runestones will open this up a bit more.

CarbonatedFalcon said:That legendary is quite common in the beta. If they don't fix it for release (I assume it's so easy to find right now so that people can have a taste of what a legendary is like), people would end up farming it with sub-1 minute runs for the enchanting/crafting material you can get out of it, if nothing else.
As for skills - some runes completely change what a skill does. The DH later on is supposed to get a Smoke Screen ability that gives you invisibility for a few seconds, but one rune turns it into a poison cloud you can drop.
What I'm wondering is if there would be some skills that you just wouldn't want to rune, if they all change the effect drastically. I guess you could stick with Crimson runes which seem to be more straight power/damage focused, but again, this is the kind of detail we won't know until release unless Blizzard says something beforehand either at Blizzcon or via blog post or on the forums.
Even then, there will still be some things that Blizzard is almost guaranteed not to comment on until release, like the "secret" level that most of us know at least a little bit about now.
lordy88 said:Wait seriously? Griswold's Edge? Chilling on an Anvil? HA! God dammit, I love you Blizzard.
nacire said:Well all of the runestone effects have been datamined. Here is a nice thread with them listed.
I have the invisibility skill for the DH, it's pretty cool and I'm curious to see how it's usefulness plays out.

lordy88 said:Right (Notice how I knew the name without you mentioning it), but the attention to detail that Blizzard has to place on it on an anvil given its quest in Diablo 1 (i.e. Anvil of Fury) makes it pretty awesome.
Too much light in the scene there I think, makes it feel more like the "God of War" style of gore, rather than something that feels creepy. Some the other shots of the game I've seen do a much better job of conveying the latter I think.SamuraiX- said:Ehhhh.... looks so damn cheesy. Looks like cartoon gore compared to most of the dungeons in DII.
Instro said:Whats with everyone taking zoomed in screenshots anyway, looks weird for a Diablo game.
MrKnives said:I don't know why but Demonhunter is most appealing to me and I absolutely hated Assassin and Amazon in DII. Don't know what has happened. Maybe it's just a temporary thing and I go back to WD/Wizard.
Cipherr said:I love archers in games, but the DH looks so boring to play to me. I mean really boring. The skill tree and stuff too, but I refuse to play melee ever again so Ill probably go Wizard now.
alphaNoid said:I've beat the beta now with the Witch Doctor and the Monk. They are my 2 favorite classes. Worst was Barb followed by Wizard with Demon Hunter being "ok".
Yes..D2 favorites were Amazon and Barb.MrKnives said:You played DII? If yes what hero you liked the most. I'm just interested how that translates
Teleport has a cooldown and bossruns aren't nearly as viable anymore as they were in D2.Gaylord Sweetwood said:I know it's way too early to say for sure, but which class do you think will be the dominant MF'er? I assume Wizard?
I'm not sure if MF'ing will work the same way in D3, I know loot drops specifically for you in a party.
Whatever the case, I assume I will make 2 characters to start. 1 to play with friends and whichever class has the tools to be the best MF'er.
red731 said:I was going to wait for the open beta to know how may it run on my laptop, but I can't wait and will ask, if these specs will let me play the game.
I am asking even though I know it can.

Would have to search through the old interviews but from what I remeber/understand the mobs of an area won't be as limitied in their potential drops compared to Bosses as they were in D2. Basically your probably just as or more likely to get something good by clearing an area as you are skipping past most of the mobs in order to rush to the boss.MrKnives said:Interested. Why is that?
