Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

this rankles.

Had a super long work day, only stopped at 11pm, all I thought about today was maybe spending an hour in diablo before bed.

I will never ever buy another game that requires online connectivity for single player. From Blizzard or anyone. I have learned my lesson. Diablo 3 is a cautionary tale.

As far as I'm concerned, the suits who dreamt up this purposeful bug can gobble a mile of cock apiece.

I'm stuck at the "Checking for Updates" screen, similar to an error I got during the Beta... fuuuudge. After I played a bit under "playable" conditions with 54% loaded, which was awesome, I went out... came back, STILL 54% loaded, tried to restart client, now I can't get the Launcher to work again. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BLIZZARD.

Game was awesome though.

I finally got past that and now it just says connection cannot be made... I guess I'm done then. :/

Well now seems like a good time to check out PixelJunk 4am's visualizer.

I'm done with D3 for today. Will try again tomorrow afternoon...

well I took the time to install darkd3. I waited because I wanted to get accustomed to the original look, and wow even the loading screen looks infinitely times better. I used the Stronger setting, I think that looks the best.

Millions of players all around the world trying to log in and play an extremely complex game with tons of multiplayer features. Surely nothing could possibly go wrong!

If only they had known people want to play this game and could have run a beta test/stress test to make sure their servers were up to snuff. It's just too bad they're barely making by with commercial failures like WoW and SC2 and therefore couldn't afford to make sure shit works.

I wish Witch Doctor didn't have Soul Harvest. It's too good, and I feel to dependent on it.
I kind of agree, I can't imagine taking it off my bar. I can work half a dozen ways to swap around all the other skills but I feel like I always need Soul Harvest right there ready to go.

It really doesn't. They didn't put in all that lore and all those random NPC conversations and all those other little "single player" details for you to stop and soak up just for the game to only be about charging through with a team as quickly as you can to get shinier loot.

The same could be said for WoW, but well we all know how that goes.

God I just want to finish act 1 and go to sleep.

Damn people STILL can't play? I haven't touched it since I left work, been playing Max Payne 3 all night.

Is it out on pc yet ? I thought it was next week ? If it's out I'll just go buy it steam and **** diablo 3. Spent most of the day navigating errors instead of navigating the game -.-

WoW wasn't even this bad on the first day and it was an MMO.

Thats a lie and you know it, or either you werent there, or you remember it wrong. WoW's launch was the most ridiculously colossally hilariously frustratingly "why have I been stuck in the loot position for the last 30 laggy minute" disaster a game launch has ever seen. This doesn't even scratch the whiskers on the buttcheek of WoW's launch.

Two questions about Monk:

Do any of you equip swords/daggers/etc and not just h2h and 2 hand staffs? I've been rocking w/e weapons are giving me better stats, but I wasn't sure if it's worse to stray away from h2h and 2 hand staff for monks.

Second question, is the hundred fists ability monk obtains better to be spam clicked or just held down? Seems like the only left click I've seen where just holding down left click is better, or am I doin it wrong?

Looks like servers went down right about when I decided to take a break.

I have good timing, except I'm ready to dive back in and it's still down :(

LOL did the same... tried to log in again becasue Im scared my character got wiped. I stopped at a checkpoint in the main town, and left the game. Level 16 monk so for.

Before the servers go back up:

Give me some Wizard tips! I've been using that purple arrow spell and the tornado thing but my guy is still very weak. I should have chosen Witch Doctor >__>

Honestly, BC, Wrath and Cat all had pretty solid launches with minimum downtime. I played them all at midnight/3am, and all throughout their day 1's, and week 1's. It was some major patches that had catastrophically bad day 1's. And yet, none of them as bad as this. None of them.

There have been worse patch days in WoW than this launch has been. You are wrong. I know one WoW patch put the servers down period until at least 9 p.m. EST. None of this up and down stuff.

This thread is ridiculous, it's moves too quick with people moaning like babies about the servers. I wish we had one thread for people to cry in and one thread for people who just want to talk about their experiences, trade strategies and builds...

I'd be surprised if anyone even was able to read this post though before it was on the last page :-/

You asked who cares.

Blizzard cares. And I care. The reason I don't like Torchlight is because it's moddable and hackable, and if you can just hack your way to amazing items, why even play? These games are all about the loot for me. The only reason I'm even remotely into Diablo is because if I got an amazing item, I earned it. Whether it be through money or time.
It'd be great if you could elaborate on this in the other thread. Try as I might I honestly can't grock this point of view.

WTF? Do you have some kind of OCD thing where you have to hack and cheat just because you can? o.O

Diablo III WILL be hacked. It WILL be pirated. There WILL be spambots and all that other irritating crap. I'll still be $60 poorer for being stupid enough to buy this shite, but at least I'll have the pleasure of laughing at all the idiots who keep regurgitating the bullshit from Blizzard's mouthpieces when it becomes clear as the nose on my face that this whole thing has been about corporate gain.

Multiplayer game my ass.

:lol.

I mean, wow. Heat of the moment much? Wait, nevermind. Five out of the six posts you've made in this thread are about this.

Clearly you've made up your mind. There is no point in discussing this with you.

Is the game shite because you have to be online? or is the game shite because you dont like loot-based arpgs. Serious question because yes launch day hasn't been ideal but really is it THAT big of a deal that the servers have been down on and off a few hours on launch day?
I love loot-based ARPGs. But the few hours of Diablo III that I've played haven't been that much better than the hours I've played other ARPGS (Diablo II included) to make this nonsense worth my time. Had this been any other game by any other company, they'd have been burned to the ground.

If only they had known people want to play this game and could have run a beta test/stress test to make sure their servers were up to snuff. It's just too bad they're barely making by with commercial failures like WoW and SC2 and therefore couldn't afford to make sure shit works.

No manner of preparation is going to ensure they won't run into problems given the sheer number of players and technicalities in the game.

I'm wondering this too, also should I use a shield if I'm using dagger, knuckles and other one handed weapons?
