Suppose the beta/stress test didn't help much.
Has any game that went through stress testing ever launch smoothly?
Suppose the beta/stress test didn't help much.
Uh, yes, it's called massive parallel processing.
I'm stuck at the "Checking for Updates" screen, similar to an error I got during the Beta... fuuuudge. After I played a bit under "playable" conditions with 54% loaded, which was awesome, I went out... came back, STILL 54% loaded, tried to restart client, now I can't get the Launcher to work again. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BLIZZARD.
Game was awesome though.
What? I was soloing and it gives me an error now saying:
"Please ensure that all party members are not in a game, and no party invites are pending"
No friends are online and I was playing alone... WTF...
Uhg I had just looted the Skeleton king. Hopefully all of the items got saved.
understood. thank you, sir.
so dps > total damage in some cases?
Millions of players all around the world trying to log in and play an extremely complex game with tons of multiplayer features. Surely nothing could possibly go wrong!
Blizzard is doing you guys a favor really. The experience sucks solo anyway.
That's why they ain't trying to fix it.
Funny, because a single click and 3 people could join you. That's funny, because I looked around and didn't see anyone playing but me and a NPC Templar.
all I want to do is play my 60+ dollar game alone right now.
this will make me think twice for Diablo 4....
When we got disconnected after killing SK we lost our items AND we weren't eligible for rares after killing him again.
I kind of agree, I can't imagine taking it off my bar. I can work half a dozen ways to swap around all the other skills but I feel like I always need Soul Harvest right there ready to go.I wish Witch Doctor didn't have Soul Harvest. It's too good, and I feel to dependent on it.
It really doesn't. They didn't put in all that lore and all those random NPC conversations and all those other little "single player" details for you to stop and soak up just for the game to only be about charging through with a team as quickly as you can to get shinier loot.
Damn people STILL can't play? I haven't touched it since I left work, been playing Max Payne 3 all night.
I'm sure you're right. But Blizzard only hire the brightest and best and to me it doesn't make sense that they aren't handling it in the best manner they know how to.
I got the EXACT same thing. I really think this launch has been epic fail from them.

WoW wasn't even this bad on the first day and it was an MMO.
Looks like servers went down right about when I decided to take a break.
I have good timing, except I'm ready to dive back in and it's still down![]()
The same could be said for WoW, but well we all know how that goes.
God I just want to finish act 1 and go to sleep.
Honestly, BC, Wrath and Cat all had pretty solid launches with minimum downtime. I played them all at midnight/3am, and all throughout their day 1's, and week 1's. It was some major patches that had catastrophically bad day 1's. And yet, none of them as bad as this. None of them.
I wish Witch Doctor didn't have Soul Harvest. It's too good, and I feel to dependent on it.
It'd be great if you could elaborate on this in the other thread. Try as I might I honestly can't grock this point of view. You asked who cares.
Blizzard cares. And I care. The reason I don't like Torchlight is because it's moddable and hackable, and if you can just hack your way to amazing items, why even play? These games are all about the loot for me. The only reason I'm even remotely into Diablo is because if I got an amazing item, I earned it. Whether it be through money or time.
WTF? Do you have some kind of OCD thing where you have to hack and cheat just because you can?
Diablo III WILL be hacked. It WILL be pirated. There WILL be spambots and all that other irritating crap. I'll still be $60 poorer for being stupid enough to buy this shite, but at least I'll have the pleasure of laughing at all the idiots who keep regurgitating the bullshit from Blizzard's mouthpieces when it becomes clear as the nose on my face that this whole thing has been about corporate gain.
Multiplayer game my ass.
Now their official website is getting slammed down.
Seriously, Blizzard is like the one company with the most experience with massive online launches...and they've failed every single one of them.
I love loot-based ARPGs. But the few hours of Diablo III that I've played haven't been that much better than the hours I've played other ARPGS (Diablo II included) to make this nonsense worth my time. Had this been any other game by any other company, they'd have been burned to the ground. Is the game shite because you have to be online? or is the game shite because you dont like loot-based arpgs. Serious question because yes launch day hasn't been ideal but really is it THAT big of a deal that the servers have been down on and off a few hours on launch day?
If only they had known people want to play this game and could have run a beta test/stress test to make sure their servers were up to snuff. It's just too bad they're barely making by with commercial failures like WoW and SC2 and therefore couldn't afford to make sure shit works.
Funny, because a single click and 3 people could join you.
do you lose game progress if servers go out while you play?
Two questions about Monk:
Do any of you equip swords/daggers/etc and not just h2h and 2 hand staffs? I've been rocking w/e weapons are giving me better stats, but I wasn't sure if it's worse to stray away from h2h and 2 hand staff for monks.
Second question, is the hundred fists ability monk obtains better to be spam clicked or just held down? Seems like the only left click I've seen where just holding down left click is better, or am I doin it wrong?
This is ridiculous. If they can't handle the volume they should have done a staggered launch.
