Why is that better than just creating a new game and selecting act V ?
One thing is for sure. I need to remember to re-enable cutscenes so I don't inadvertently skip all of Act V dialogue
I'm having a real hard time deciding if I want to jump right in with the Crusader or plow to 70 on my monk.
Well I only got to Paragon level 20, and most of my guys aren't capable of doing much more than T3 or so, but I did manage to hit 60 on every class before tonight. As someone earlier in the thread mentioned my first characters all have 60+ hours on them and the wizard I started from scratch and solo leveled last week hit 60 in 12 hours. It's kind of depressing.
I don't entirely know who I want to take up to 70 first. I played a lot of Monk in the old game, I just don't know if I love the 2.0 monk changes. Mine was built to be indestructible for the old school inferno grind (tons of LOH and defensive skills) and I didn't really play him enough to know how they play with the loot 2.0 changes. So he can live through anything but his kill times are terrible at the moment.
Decisions, decisions.
I'll probably just level my WD or the Wizard first. I feel like Range is probably better before I get some good melee drops. One thing is for sure. I need to remember to re-enable cutscenes so I don't inadvertently skip all of Act V dialogue
Trying to decide if I should get the collector's edition because I love collector's editions, especially Blizzards, or not. I have the original Diablo 3 still sealed and that is what I would do with the expansion as well but I am wondering how limited it will be.
That's an easy decision.
Hammers > fists
Anyone have opinions on the current state of the witch doctor?
I find him frustrating, as you pretty much have nothing except AOE. And Firebats seems to be the best skill for just doing damage by a good amount.
Poison darts are usually on my left click, but there is little point to using them the majority of the time.
WD has a lot of fun looking skills. But most of them seem almost useless when i can just spam firebats all day...

Firebats w/ the Vamp Bats rune + the Fetish Sycophants passive is the backbone for a pretty great summon build. Been running it for a few weeks and enjoy it.

Don't buy them based on how limited they might or might not be, only buy it if you actually want the contents of it IMO.
I have never played around with the sycophants. I may do that.

Considering you can have a small army of them, they take plenty of damage, they even DISH OUT plenty of damage. Only started playing WD last week and I love this build.
I don't even use a signature ability except spider queen since that's just free 15 seconds of damage that also functions as a hound dog towards more enemies. Fire bats with the rune to eliminate channeling cost makes it basically usable all the time. It also has a chance to proc a fetish every second with that passive ability even if you don't hit any enemies. You can basically gear up for a boss fight with 4-7 fetishes then drop a totem to watch them beat ass.
Also you can get free dogs by using the "chance to summon zombie dogs" passive then switching it out when you get 3 of them. That frees up another skill slot for something else. Like locusts. I usually start with the locusts then firebats after throwing a spider queen. The class is good and very damaging, and the pets are actually worthwhile now and don't die very often. I'll usually die before my pets do and that's quite a drastic change from how it used to be for the class.
They made piggies super-viable again, which is great since I main WD. Fetish Army is amazing at bodyblocking, tanking, and critting for super-high numbers, while a summoning giant zombie that hits for 2 million while the Elite is trying to wiggle past all the piggies is hilarious.

That body blocking potential has me thinking twice about things. The incoming damage was the biggest barrier to running higher torment in RoS, and a sea of little critters blocking pathing is a lot more reliable than 1.5 second stuns and freezes.
I haven't tried anything on WD except for this (Fetishes Build) build. That sounds tempting.

That -was- awesome. I giggled.Carbot RoS trailer HYPE.

Priceless.
EDIT: Well, opening cinematic, not trailer. Still, is awesome.

Just got my key through from Simplycdkeys.
Dunno whether to jump onto EU tonight to try crusader early or wait until tomorrow morning so I can play on my US characters and not start crusader twice.
I don't know why but I am intent on buying the physical copy just to have the box.
WTF is wrong with me.
Mildly amusing until the very end which was fantastic.
You smelly non-europeans better not ruin our launch servers!
Pretty sure I'm european I just made the decision to play on the US servers since launch.

So adventure mode is basically designed to be like magic find runs in D2? Short 15-20 min runs with guaranteed loot? Sounds Great.
If you just want to test the crusader, you can jump to Asia in one hour
It's going to be the shit.
Hmmm, I wonder if we can use a VPN and play on Americas early? Doubtful.
That is what sold me as well. Need those extra slots.I wouldn't be quite that quick to write it off. There's, somewhat unfortunately, one precise difference which made me go for the Digital Deluxe - you gain another 3 character slots. With the normal edition of RoS, you get two more, up to 12 slots total from vanilla D3. With the CE / Deluxe, you'd end up with 15.
May not be of value to some, but to me, that shit's important. Means I can have all my softcore and a better selection of HC chars on top. Might even have space for a mule or two.
It's up to you. The transmogrification plans, spectral hound pet and the other stuff for Blizzard franchises, well... most of that is just cosmetics. Up to you. But 3 more char slots is tangible.
Granted runs in D2 lasted about 3 minutes each but this is a good middle ground from D3 at launch. Do the caches have any guaranteed loot contents?
