Only thing that worries me is how patches will be handled, has that been stipulated yet? Will the console ver. (PS4) lag behind the PC ver. when more content and fixes are added through patches to the PC ver.?

Ok so several pages back I mentioned that when you go to import your saved character/data a message pops up saying it will erase all your current heroes, items and progress in the game thus far.

Someone replied saying no it doesn't, can anyone shed some light on what exactly happens if you already made a character and try to import from one of the other consoles?

As far as gear goes, just stack up on Intelligence first and then look for Vitality, ignore Strength and Dexterity. Then you'd want gear that does one or more of the following: increase to crit chance, increased crit damage, increased attack speed, cooldown reduction, resource cost reduction, or increased damage to skills you use. Other things to look for in gear, mainly at higher levels: Resistance to all, increased movement speed, magic find, gem slots, and life on hit. If you use skills like Frost Nova or Mirror Image, cooldown reduction will be very handy, otherwise you can skip gear that doesn't have that. If you use skills that have a high Arcane Power cost, try to find gear with reduced resource cost.

Weapon wise, I like using a fast one handed weapon (wands are preferable, but whatever gives you the highest DPS is best) and a Wizard Source for the offhand.

For skills, the first thing you want to do is TURN ELECTIVE MODE ON (you can do this from the options menu). With Elective Mode on, you can assign skills to different buttons, AND you can choose skills from the same grouping. In other words, you can have 2 Force skills or 2 Conjuration Skills. This is much much better as now you can truly customize your character.

As for the skills you're currently using, Magic Missile and Disintegrate are fine. If you want to be more mobile you can switch Disintegrate to Arcane Orb instead. Frost Nova is a nice skill; if you want to use it more, switch the Shatter Rune to Cold Snap. I would replace Energy Twister with Hydra (Arcane Hydra rune); I feel it's more reliable DPS and at Level 45 you can pair it with the Passive Skill: Temporal Flux (enemies that take Arcane damage are slowed for 2 seconds.) And when I used Hydra, I switched out Frost Nova with Blizzard. Blizzard + Hydra are a nice combo; you can slow groups down and let the Hydra pound on them.

I also see you're using Storm Armor. I'd suggest that you replace it with Energy Armor for a nice Defensive buff instead. Mirror Image is nice because the clones cast the same spells as you do (albeit at only 10% of the damage). They'd be good to use with utility skills like Slow Time or Frost Nova; this would be perfect if you want to do Crowd Control). If you want to do more DPS, switch to Familiar or Magic Weapon.

Passives should depend on the skills you are using.Glass Cannon is always nice because of the increase in DPS. If you use cold skills, Cold Blooded is nice to have. Fire skills; Conflagration. If you use skills with cooldowns, Evocation is a must. If you use one or more of the folowing: Mirror Image, Slow Time, or Teleport; then use Illusionist. Keep this things in mind when choosing a Passive.
Thanks brah you and Phat Michael gave some great advice that I'm going to have to try out when I get off of work.

Finally tried out remote play and it was totally fine. It's not how I would choose to play the game, but for what it is, it works almost perfectly. I say almost because of the way L2/R2 are implemented. Still, it isn't as bad as some made it out to be.

How long is the campaign that's added (Act V)? Not all that interested in repeating the campaign / doing harder modes. So I just want to gauge whether it's worth getting now or when it drops in price if I'll end up breezing through the new act.

Only a few hours.

What makes ROS a great game compared to before is that it's easily one of the best balanced versions of the game, sans a monk. Bounties, rifts, greater rifts and uber bosses are something vanilla just didn't have and they make the grinding nature of the game more direct and tolerable.

The new act at best is maybe 15-20 hours, this is considering you started out fresh and not like me at 60 when I did it You will find more content in the rifts as they have interesting take on familiar scenes and allow you to face enemies who normally wouldn't be in the levels or acts that they are.
There is something that makes me grin when I see ponies and bears in a stone fort or dhalgur oasis.

Act V is quite short.

Adventure Mode is endless.

Everything I've read seem to indicate that Monk's are underpowered compared to the other classes (guessing this is the hardest difficulties which I may or may not ever run). Are they just that bad or are they just really gear dependent?

The damage stats for skills is garbage and blizzard has been nerfing them in to the ground since vanilla D3. The same can be said for wizard but you can make a lot of builds more viable for higher torments with a wizard. Not only do you need the right skills which limits build diversity getting the gear is a pain as well.

Even with that said considering your point you can easily use one till about T3 which is where the issue will start to creep in with your enjoyment of the character.

Most classes easily can go to T2 with little trouble even with rare gear and a few legendaries. Paragons are insanely helpful to players so you can grind your way to a certain point and know with just about any class you can do some of the higher difficulties.

So is there no way to talk to your companions in the console version without dismissing them first? In the PC version you could click on the portrait and talk to them. There doesn't seem to be an equivalent in the PS4 version.

Definitely agree with ya. I wish we could swap the trigger buttons on the Vita for L2/R2. I find that pressing L2 with the current configuration won't even lock on to enemies. Overall, remote play was amazing! Diablo on the go.. are you kidding me?

Well this is now officialy on my top 5 best games ever list.

I was expecting a standard point and click rpg. What i got was an amazing action game with incredibly satisfying combat.

The attention to detail and death abimations of the enemies scattering accross the screen is just the best shit i have experienced in a game.

Anyone agree?

Edit. Typing on phone. Excuse the grammar abd misstypes

Definitely. I don't know that I'd put it in my top 5 but it's probably the most addicted I've been to a game in years. The gameplay is just a blast and there is so much variety to keep you playing forever. I'm really loving it so far.

Torchlight...well, that franchise was kinda just mediocre and no one seems to care about it anymore. That subreddit is somewhat dead and just in general, there isn't really anything good to say about TL2. It had a lot of hype due to the anti-D3 bandwagon, but it didn't take long after release for people to recognize its mediocrity and own share of rather huge problems (like online play). Why would anyone play it over PoE or Diablo 3?
SO MUCH THIS

Torchlight II was a good game, but people were so quick to overrate it due to the D3 backlash.

Well for my first time playing a Diablo game its been going good so far. I chose a demon hunter. I'm just trying to figure out the gem and crafting system.

Got any specifics you like to know?

Gems are at covetus shen an basically you upgrade the gem quality and crafting quality by money and certain crafting materials. Crafting is at the blacksmith.

You need to find plans for the blacksmith and once you get them simply go to blacksmith and click on them to integrate them in to all your class builds. You will need to get the materials to craft but you will have the ability to make any gear or gem for any character you have.

Gems are a lot of money and not worth the investment till you get imperials. It's ok to upgrade a few gems here and there but by the time you reach lvl 61 or 62 you can get marquise and imperial which are far better than anything below them.

I started last night and played about half of the first act. I'm a Demon Hunter, I think I got to level 12 just before I shut it off. I am having a blast. I wanted to stay up all night and play. Going to be playing a ton of this on the long weekend next weekend.

I played from 6pm to 3am last night, and the only reason I stopped was because I was falling asleep as I was playing.

Well crap. It is happening all over again. This made me feel like I did with Diablo and Diablo II. I didn't go quite as hard on 3 as I could have but now? Yeah. I have plans. Big plans.

So I'm not super far along as I didn't have the time I wanted to spend on it. Played on Expert for a bit (still Act I) and played with a fellow GAFer PSN of dungunn (sorry for the spelling) which was real good.

Enjoying the hell out of Crusader and even got to send off a gift to one of the friends on my list. (I had like four before now I'm pushing the 40+ mark) Seriously great to have so many new people on my list to possibly play with. I uh.. feel like I'm already really far behind though. heh.

So, yeah, playing with a controller really does change the feel of the game. A lot. In the best way possible. This is the best of all worlds for me when it comes to Diablo. Only thing that would make it better is if we could do (PS3/PS4 cross play same with 360/XB1) but this will work. The couch co-op makes up for it. Got the wife in on it and it was a good time. She already got snapped up by Hearthstone. This might be yet another potential time-sink for her.

Rox598:

This worked

1. Navigate to the Settings option on the PS4 Dynamic Menu

2. Select "PSN"

3. Select "Restore Licenses"

4. Re-launch Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition and you should find...

I had to do the same thing last night.

Nothing there and no gold from my other accounts :(

When I go back to the battle net account it asks me to link again

Wait, which platform are you trying to link from? You can't migrate characters from PC to console, only PS3 or 360 to PS4/Xbox One. When you do link your Bnet account (regardless of migrating) to the game, you should get a free ring, and that will be in your stash.

I had the same problem but it finally dropped into my inventory. I'm assuming the ring is the loot you get from linking your account?

I could never find my pre-order shoulders either.

Died for the first time last night and then died again right away again. Kinda sad and pathetic as I'm only level 13 and playing on hard. First one was to a nemisis and I got swarmed by mini mobs and couldn't move so I panicked and just got smothered. Second time was just another case of being swarmed and not being able to move. I had just switched from an aoe type of build to a single target one and wasn't use to not being able to clear out a couple enemies at a time.

Still playing solo but would like to play multiplayer but everyone I have added as friends from GAF is already level 50 or higher. I feel like I should party up with people more around my level. I know there is the apprentice system but since this is my first Diablo I don't want to jump into high end stuff when I'm still getting the hang of things.

If there's anyone still lower level and wants to join up feel free to add me: PSN = Hoodbury. I'm at the Skeleton King right now still act 1. I play nights around 8 CST for a couple hours.

I have fought a couple of Nemesis' now. Killed the first one and killed by the second one. the second one also had a string of 4 characters below it's name which I take to mean it had killed 4 peeps before me. This system is really cool! I need to make sure I start recording my gameplay because I would love to put a clip together of nothing but nemesis battles!

Antitrop, I received Leoric's Crown from you yesterday and it lasted a good few hours, thanks! The funny thing is I was already rocking the same crown I had received from the skeleton king but the gift I got from you had about double the stats. :)

Patches will come to PS4/XB1 but later than the PC patches (at least in the beginning, they plan to have simultaneous releases in the future).

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/15157764/patch-support-confirmed-for-ps4™-and-xbox-one™-8-11-2014

Worth noting that not all PC features will come to console.

As per patch 2.1, consoles will not get the ladder system, seasons and leaderboards but will get the other stuff.

Can i enjoy this game ?

U have maybe 1h per day max to give. Too many unfinished game. Ans mostly none If my friends are playing it. And then ... Destiny soon

Can i play online with Random ?

I'm sure you would enjoy it but keep in mind it's a real time-sink and your 1 hour could accidentally turn into 2 hours without you realizing it. So just keep that in mind. Other than that, it's a great game.

Aww wut no PC characters? Ah well that's no biggy. It finally started working needed to unlink then link again for it to kick in though.

Fought a Nemesis. He fucked me.Had him at like 1/100 health and he killed me when I was at half health. Fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you.

Anyway, I'm about level 22 now, and I need some decent builds for a witch doctor. Going full pets seems to be a good idea but I don't know what to do if shit gets past them. On the other hand, I was going to run status effects focused WD (you got your poison darts with double darting, poison dogs, turning people into chickens, and possible horrify.haunt) but it's not killing fast enough. Probably a gear problem.

Matchmaking simply does not work for me. I can join other people's games, through friends or quick match, and even when I'm in there game randoms will join. When I'm playing in my own campaign, in public, I've yet to get a single person to join between level 1-28. I'm playing on expert but even sliding it to hard for a little while did nothing.

So, someone mailed me a 2.2k one-handed with alright stats, thanks to him whom name escapes me.

Decided to try rolling a socket on it, that would make it really cool, right?

Rolled "level reduced by 29lvl".

Oh, okay, 41lvl one-handed sword with 2.2k dps and killer stats? Yeah that'll do, that'll do. Gave a quick run with my 50ish wd and yeah. Having a 2.2k weapon while leveling up is silly. I love it though.

Switch l2 and r2 to the front and I'd have almost no complaints

I'm totally new to Diablo games. I've got a couple of questions. I'm still in Act 1, and just
beat the Skeleton King and found the guy in the crater
.

What should I be doing with all the loot I don't want/need? Is it best to sell it or break it into components at the blacksmith or what?

Is it possible to see my D3 profile on battle.net? I've linked my PSN account already, but when I log into battle.net I can only see the profile for the free starter edition of D3 I downloaded last year.

Holy Shit man ! Your twinks will never have a problem again to reach 70. Congratz :D

Mid-40s now and really loving the feel of using the Demon Hunter with a controller. Just hit Act 5 last night, still rocking expert. Found three legendary set plans as well (Born's, Cain's, Captain Crimson's).

Really like how you can just use the legendary plans you find anywhere - you don't necessarily have to bring them to the blacksmith/jeweler/mystic.

And you should use them immediately. If you wait, you might find the same plans again, which would suck. They're only removed from the loot table if your artisan already knows them.
