Thanks for pre-ordering Digimon Cyber Sleuth from Best Buy. I trust you and your brother will enjoy it.

Interest in this game was higher than anticipated, and pre-order bonus codes from the manufacturer have been depleted. We are actively working to procure more for all our pre-order customers.

If you haven't yet, please send your request to our Gaming-BBY inbox (clicking the hyperlink will open a new window with a private message addressed to the inbox). Please include your name, order numbers. As soon as we have more codes we will begin replying to all requests in the order they are received.

Best regards,

No. They're just additional Digimon. Not really any more powerful than stuff you can find in the game, it's basically like another species being added.

I guess having three rookie levels right at the very beginning would give you a leg up for maybe 30 minutes until you Digivolve your scanned in-training dudes? Haha.

Alright, so maybe I'll wait until I'm one hour in to redeem the DLC, does that make sense? Haha :p

Not sure. It took me awhile to figure out what I needed to do when I was playing. The main thing you need is 100 potential, which will take a little bit to get. After that you need to farm train the stats and then grind up its level. Probably Chapter 11 would be reasonable.

It's been close to a year, so I'm not sure.

Anything that isn't listed as an evolution requirement for Lucemon should say +0 I'm parentheses.

Just a note, potential is called ability (ABI) in the English version.

I guess I should start hacking at it now

Redeem it right away. It will take you an hour or so until you reach the point where you can access it anyway.

Yeah, grab the DLC when you start. You have to complete the first bit of the game before you can collect the DLC Digimon.

It's just that when you're able to collect them the next area you visit still has mostly wild In-Training level Digimon while the free DLC Digimon are all Rookie level. It's absolutely possible to have a team of Rookies in that area, but you'll be stronger than all the wild Digimon if you start right off with the DLC dudes.
It's not really a big deal, though, haha.

Do we have any idea how much this is going to be digitally in the UK? I know it's full price in the US but have seen posts saying that it's cheaper in other regions.

Really debating on whether to get this physically or not. I suppose I can just wait til Friday and see, though ideally I'd like it for the weekend.

I pre-ordered from Amazon.ca the day before release and it mentioned a bunch of DLC. I didn't get an email from them, so when my copy arrived today, I assumed it was a voucher inside the box. After opening it up, there was nothing...

Did other people get emails from Amazon?

Well, at least there are some good news in the email!

Yup, biggest thing here is great though....I have faith in BB getting my code, their support is infinitely better than gamestop. I remember being on hold for GameStop....for more than a fucking hour before when I wanted to just change a pre-order item around PS4 launch....dear god, worst CS ever.

I'm on chapter 4 and already have seven ultimates. I think I may be grinding just a tad too much. Evolving things is too much fun.

I guess all those quotes above may explain why I also didn't get a code. Also explains why Amazon.ca is sold out of copies now. I'll contact them about it.

Kinda split on Hard mode. I still steamroll most everything but the bosses are brutal.

Early game boss spoiler
Devimon
took me like 30 turns because I didn't have a vaccine type in my party

Good to hear it's doing better than anticipated! At the GS I preordered from, I got the only copy they received. It blew my mind that they wouldn't have gotten a few extra than the preordered...

Got over 6.5 hours of gameplay on a single Vita charge. Really efficient compared to stuff like Trails of Cold Steel.

The voting-with-my-dollars side is telling me to buy this now. I missed the preorder DLC and I still have Yokai Watch to finish. Gahhhh!!!

It sounds like the gameplay systems are great, but what about the story and characters?

If you buy digitally you'll still get the DLC.

The story is alright so far. Nothing amazing, but I don't dislike it.

I only got to playing about 2 hours last night but the game is fun
Any turn based battle system with speed up options is greatly appreciated especially with auto battle for grindaholics such as myself
Kinda reminds me of the ds world games + and a bit of digi data squad except a whole lot better

The story picks up around Chapter 10, if I remember correctly. I liked it, but I also couldn't understand what Kyoko was saying half the time, haha.

So found a great spot to scan some digimon and get XP if your in Chapter 4 atleast. The case "A Life Crisis!?" gives you access to these Digimon which are decently strong for Chapter 4 and give great XP.

Greymon
Dorugamon
Peckmon
Knightmon
BlueMeramon

I really regret not staying in that dungeon longer tbh

Wish I could go back. I cleared it, figuring the game was upping the encounter levels. Nope, back to in-training and rookies for the next dungeon.

Yeah, De-Digivolve basically allows you 1. Raises a stat that is needed for Mega-level Digimon and 2. means the max level for the Digimon will increase. (until it gets to 99)

1. See what I said above

2. Higher level means you can raise your stats more by leveling up past what your original cap was. (there is items that raise some stats as well I believe)

1. Keep them in your active battle frontline party and 2. via friendship meat on the Digifarm.

Just to clarify, every time I de-digivolve the level cap gets raised by one until 99? So I can raise a trainer digimon to level 3, digivolve, de-digivolve, and cap is raised by 1? So I can keep repeating that until cap reaches 99?

Also, 200% capture for digimon just gives a small boost to base stats, right?

Why didn't anybody tell me this was a turn based RPG with digivolving digimon? Just watched some gameplay footage. I love this. Will buy it now.

Yeah, you can make the battle animations shorter/faster. I saw the option but didn't use it yet. It does one of the two, not sure which. :p

Huh.... I need to look at the options again, must've skimmed it. I honestly think the default length for animations are brisk enough for me to not be bothered.

So I didn't even realize this game existed until recently and a lot of my friends and people on Twitter have recommended it to me. I hear a lot of talk about how it's rich on Digimon fan service / it being a worthy game for fans of the series. I'm curious though, how specific of a fan does that entail? I used to be an incredibly huge fan of the original two Digimon Adventure series (the first one in particular hasn't aged one bit imo) but I never got to watch things like Tamers beyond a few episodes and my knowledge outside of the original anime is limited. Is it still a game I could find myself loving in terms of setting?
