Digital Foundry: Bloodborne PC Emulation - 60FPS/Mods Tested - The Remaster We've Always Wanted?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Following a breakthrough in PS4 emulation via ShadPS4, Bloodborne is now fully playable start to finish with 60 frames per second in view. Fan mods also allow the PC version to go the extra mile with new features: improved shadows, lighting, and even anti aliasing - in theory showing us what an official remaster could end up looking like.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Funny how some scenes were familiar to me like, I've been there sort of, even though I never played the game, just this fan demake, lol. Anyway after Elden Ring I've had more than just enough Souls-like gameplay for the next decade, I'm good.

Question Mark What GIF by MOODMAN

You want them to deliberately post content that we all know will be taken down and end up resulting in their channel getting monetization strikes and possibly removed from YT ?
They can literally show they own the game and fight back. They even have a reason to call it academic but hey that's what I'm laughing at, not because I'm upset that peeps are playing a PS4 game on newer hardware.

I finished the game with shadps4 at 60fps, but many crashes in cutscenes due to the 60fps patch.
Deactivate the patch to avoid crashes and then activate it again to continue playing. without graphic errors.
very good for the primary state of the emulator

And you think this would stop Nintendo from going after them? Nintendo doesn’t care even if it’s legal. Why would the DF crew run the risk of a court battle with Nintendo? Even if they were in the right and won, they would spend tend of thousands in lawyer fees.

Lemme guess, you bought these games and are using the disc drive on your pc right?

You need to dump it anyway.

Yep, Nintendo lawyers have been on record as saying that they consider emulation as piracy, in a blanket way.

Perhaps not but they have IGN backing now so they can afford it now. Still the fact that they started to cover emulation was funny while never doing possible Switch 2 remasters. I guess they didn’t fear Sony going after them. They've never covered emulation of xbox on PC either when discussing BC so maybe they fear xbox going after them too.

Even with IGN, why risk a legal battle just for some videos? Nintendo could also blacklist them. It simply isn’t worth it.

No one really cares about Xbox emulation. 90% of their games are playable natively on PC. The only exceptions are games like Conker or Crimson Skies.

Man what is this weird tangent you're going on here, lol.

Why the fuck would IGN want to incur Nintendo's wrath and the possibility of getting blacklisted from coverage?

They've covered emulation in the past a lot as well. If Sony and MS start DMCA take downs on these videos, they're gonna stop doing these videos for non-Nintendo games as well.

If nobody cared they wouldn't have so heavily covered MS BC program which was basically emulation on their machine. They could have very easily covered playing BC vs emulating on a PC.

Needs a lot of work to reach the stability and polish of a commercial product, but the progress so far is super impressive. They are doing a great job.

They have? Where have they covered emulation of xbox or PS on PC before? I've missed it. Show me.

We’re talking about Xbox emulation on PC, not BC on Xbox. The emulation projects on Xbox have been moving at a snail’s pace despite predating PS4 by years. RPCS3 is in a far better state than Xenia in large part because the community is much bigger.

You can practically count the number of Xbox games worth emulating on PC on two hands.
