Do GAF girls act like men in threads ?

I wear small mens shirts. I don't wear mens jeans I wear female jeans. I wear mens shorts. I wear mens jumpers. I wear mens underwear. Mens singlets. Mens shoes. Female bras. Unisex socks. Mens boxer shorts (bed). I think I have covered everything. I'm very boyish though in my appearance and my attitude. But my body has a lot of shape to it in a feminine way so when I wear small mens shirts I generally still look like a female.

Also I don't know if I already posted this but today at work I made a chikorita out of blu tac. I was very proud of myself :lol

I like the straight-lines look of boys' clothes, personally. I don't usually give a shit if my waist or hips are emphasized. In fact, I like to de-emphasize as much as possible, honestly, because otherwise I get people talking to the DDs and not to me.

Plus I am very not on the prowl. Sometimes I like to dress nice and cute, and I do wear a lot of dresses and skirts, too, but usually that means I have to have a long conversation with at least one person per day about how I "clean up well."

I dress feminine, not overtly girly though. But still feminine. I'm not into sexy clothes, or thongs or stuff like that. Too bloody uncomfortable! Normal panties are just so much more comfortable! I do like dressing up, though, but very modestly. I've never had a problem with people not taking me seriously, because I like to look feminine. Or viewing me as a sexual object, besides, men who do that would look at you in that manner anyway, doesn't matter if you are wearing sexy clothes or men's clothes.

So where/how do you get your fashion sense/style? I don't mind being uncreative in my wardrobe choices but sometimes you see those hipster girls and their outfit looks so great... how do I hipsterr?

Probably true (and women, too). Maybe I just feel better being lost in mens' clothing. I dunno. I do notice that I started to incorporate more womens' things into my wardrobe after my son was born. Maybe I felt more girly after I pushed baby through vag. :lol

:lol :lol

I dunno about beautiful. They kept asking me if I wanted a mirror and I said hell no.

My son is beautiful. The stretching, tearing, pain? Well, it was only eleven hours.

Eleven hours of stretching, tearing pain might seem pretty bad, but at least you don't have to shave every morning. Now THAT's annoying.

I have legs, bro. Legs that get bristly hairy if I don't shave. Maybe more like every other day, though, so I guess you have me beaten there.

EXACTLY. Apology accepted.

And by the way, your son is adorable. Nice job on the vag push.

I did it fast. Didn't want no damn pointy heads coming out of my business. :lol

I wonder how he is going to feel growing up with a mother who is crass and rude and apparently acts like a man in GAF threads. Will he be proud? Horrified? Republican?

p.s. have you not considered beard? I think we established that beards rock.

I agree with, Whoompthereitis, your son is adorable!

Beards are lame, in my opinion. My jawline is too rugged and chiseled to cover with a beard. I understand why other less 'sculpted' dudes would opt for the shaggy look, but I prefer to be clean-shaven.

Oh, well. I guess if you got it, you gotta work it. But I do like a hairy chin. It may just be raging jealousy, though.

My kid is absolutely aware that he is a cutie, and he flirts his little butt off. If he could read, he'd be over in the "boobs of summer" thread.

Really interesting to see that there are a variety of other women who are into the whole men's clothing, no makeup, etc look. Occasionally I wish that my g/f would drop the Yankees tees and dress more feminine.. but every time I'm even subtle about this, I get told how much she hates wearing dresses, how she hates shopping for clothes, etc. Any advice on how I should approach the subject with her? What would our masculine-dressing GAF girl contingent do if their significant other mentioned they wished they would dress more 'girly'?

I'd probably tell my SO if he wanted a barbie doll, he should have picked one of those up instead of me. If I didn't just punch him.

I do wear makeup most days, at least mascara and lip gloss, but that's really it. In the south, too often it will melt off your face. If the man told me he'd prefer it if I wore foundation all the time or whatever, I'd put some on, go jog around the block, and come back and rub the melting mess on all his favorite shirts.

IN OTHER WORDS, NOTHING GOOD COMES FROM ASKING YOUR LOVED ONE TO CONFORM TO SOME SILLY BULLSHIT STANDARDS! :lol

p.s. also hate shopping. haaaate. Have you ever offered to go shopping with her? Or have you been all like, "baby, I had this dream where you were wearing a garter belt and a little skirt and fuck was it hot?" Maybe you're couching it the wrong way. Or maybe she just is what she is, and you should accept it or jog on.

My one concession is that the SO asked me not to cut my hair too short, but in all fairness, he said it's 'cause he likes touching it and he was all blushy, so since it was cute, I agreed. BE CUTER.

but that's just my pesos. I dunno your lady.

If she was into the Yankees tees and shit when you first met her, you might not have a leg to stand on. If she started the whole men's clothing thing after you two started fucking, you may have some leverage here. Withhold cock from her- that ALWAYS works.

Whoa, seriously? I didn't know there were so many women who liked wearing guy's clothes. I'm TRULY shocked. Don't most women dislike wearing shapeless clothing? Cause that's basically what men's clothes are.. shapeless. It looks very unattractive on a girl, imo. Unless you have a figure similar to a guy, I can't see it being more attractive than something that accentuates your shape.
I think you're missing the point. What is or isn't attractive is not their concern.

The other main forum that I post at gets a lot of their visitors for their beauty/health threads so I get inspiration for certain looks from them. I read a lot of beauty related stuff too because makeup and fashion is also relevant to my interests! xD

If you know what type of body you have, then you know what types of clothing you should get to emphasize and hide certain features (this rule also applies to facial features and makeup). My favorite features to show off is my clavicle bones and lower arms so I have a lot of v-necks and 1/2 sleeved shirts. My disliked feature are my stomach and thighs so I wear long tunics with ruched sides.

I think the way you carry yourself is a big factor on whether an outfit looks good on you. My confidence level correlates to what I'm wearing sometimes. I feel really good and confident when I wear a cute dress or an outfit that shows off my figure and I'm just blah when I wear a super baggy hoodie :P

I agree with hey_monkey and Whoompthereitis. If she's the type that's always worn that type of clothing, then it'll be hard to change that, especially if she's a strong type like hey_monkey :P I used to dress boyish too, but when I started to get good feedback from wearing girly-er things from my SO I started to change my wardrobe little by little. I'm still in the transition stage though, I have a ton of guy-shirts :P Comfort>>>>Looks!! Because of this, I still can't wear high-heels >_<

Wowza! You're not kidding. And I don't mean that in the all-babies-are-cute-even-when-they're-not way - your son is really adorable.

I'd like a child someday, but I don't look forward to the actual act of birth and all of the associated pain, maybe because I'm a bit of a coward inside. For that (and other reasons) I think I'd prefer adoption. I dunno.

I know it. I love meeting people who make the "meh" face when I mention I have a kid, because I start to show off a picture, and I can see them not-rolling their eyes and thinking, yeah, whatever, rugrats, and then the reaction is always the same:

"OH MY GOD WOW YOUR KID!"
me: "Yeah. I know."

I like to think I'm changing the child-haters one photo at a time. :lol

I was really apprehensive, and I also wasn't one of those chicks who was all YAY I'M MAKING LIFE! Pregnancy was pretty miserable. Labor sucked. Stitches in the nethers sucked worse. But it's over and I have this little guy who is funny and sweet and smart. But there are plenty of babies who need homes, too. If I give Jackie a sibling, I'd prefer to adopt, I think. I did the life-creation.

Also, I don't think I can top him. I'm sure my second child would be ugly and depressed, haha.

I'm sorry, I'm late to this part of adoring your son but HOLY CRAP YOUR KID IS REALLY, REALLY ADORABLE. He is going to be very charming in the future.

Mind telling us what forum it is? Please no cosmo forum haha.

I don't wear high heels either and besides some of them are bad for your bones, girl.

I suggest makeup alley. It's like GAF for girly girls.

It's originally a K-Pop forum, haha. Just a note, a majority of the products and tutorials that are discussed is directed towards the Asian audience

For makeup stuff, Specktra is awesome!

I only bookmarked Makeupalley for their reviews and never checked out their boards. Because of the format, it seems so disorganized and cluttered D:

Format can be a little weird, but they have really, really good content on the boards. I'd say the best.

I love shopping for clothes even if I mostly wear mens clothing. Never wear dresses now. I'm a twin so when I was little mum would dress me and My sister the same. I wore a dress because I wanted to at my graduation but that's it.

Did I mention the names my mum gave to my sister and I... Zoe and Chloe... Cruel woman.

Edit: yeah and seriously REALLY CUTE KID ^_^

Are you the girl with the badass tattoos on your forearms? Think I remember you from the tattoo thread...

I like browsing Chictopia for outfit ideas. The styles on the site are mostly girly or hipster.

I am pretty casual but I like dressing up if I can lol.

Aaaaand we're talking about kids now! Yay!

Fun fact. I was a kid once. That was a long time ago. Also purely for informations, I was also very adorable.

Oh...it's supposed to be LIE, not like. SHIT. Oh well, I'm leaving it. I'm sick of the edit button erasing people's follies (well, sometimes I feel this way).

Really just kid, singular. BECAUSE HE IS THE BEST (and will probably eat other children or something; he is a beast).

I went pawing through my closet last night and noticed that I have more girly clothes than I thought, but still not anything particularly femme. I don't really get style or outfit ideas anywhere except from my own brain. And maybe from my friend who is an awesome dresser. I kind of want to be her when I grow up.

You know, thinking about the distinction between what is and isn't girly, I think I'm the most "girly" with my television shows. Shit, Gossip Girl (which I stopped watching recently), Grey's Anatomy, Sex and the City (totally seeing the movie).

They're my guilty pleasures.

I do have like, 5 dresses and 4 skirts. But if I'm wearing one of them, I always wear something super un-girly to go with them (military jacket, combat boots, etc).

Meh, don't really care about fashion and style, also don't copy latest "fashion trends", like those HUGE shoulder bags, and tops that make you look like you're 4 months pregnant, or those hideous gigantic sunglasses. I just wear what I *think* looks good on me, and what I feel comfortable in.

Not a shopaholic but I like buying stuff for myself occasionally, especially love shopping for jeans and shirts (female dress shirts with collars are so awesome or high-neck stylish shirts for winter). I don't wear skirts, shorts or dresses. It gets pretty cold here so I don't get to wear them very often. Shoes and bags? Well, as long as they're comfortable and look somewhat stylish, I'm not really bothered about them. My sister's got tons of cute bags and shoes so sometimes I use hers when I'm in the mood. One of the many perks of living with your older sister. :p

I don't wear tons of make-up. Just lipstick (not nude though, it's another one of those new trends that I don't follow. They make you look sick and washed out!) and eye liner (mostly brown and only on top lashline and a bit smudged so it doesn't look over the top) and that's it. Too much make-up looks tacky, imo.

Heh, never liked any of those shows. My guilty pleasure would be The Vampire Diaries, it's weird because I don't like vampire stuff, especially Twilight. The show sucks but I can't stop watching it. I only watch it for Ian Somerhalder, hottest vampire since Brad pit from The interview with the Vampire. :lol

I haven't worn much in terms of makeup lately. I'm a Vaseline fiend though, but I wear mascara, sometimes eyeliner (haven't worn it since high school), and I LOVE my red lipstick. I want to wear it every day with nothing else on my face. I just love the way it looks. But normally I just wash my face and go~.

Clothes, I like the bubble dresses ;_; and you no love the giant sunglasses? ;_; I love 'em just because they look so cute sometimes on people.

I've never seen Vampire Diaries, but I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm currently in the middle of season 7. Sex and the City was something as a teenager I couldn't watch, so my (former) friend's mom had it from China, and he, my other former friend mentioned earlier and I would go to his house and watch it together because it was just taboo for us. Then he got pissed one day and threw out the entire series. Because he felt we weren't spending enough time with him without the show which wasn't the case. He was SUCH a dick.

Gossip Girl I tried to resist, but then I saw the chemistry between Blair/Chuck and I got sucked in.

I do watch Daily Show, Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, Chopped (Food Network FTW!), 30 Rock, Community and sometimes Modern Family. Those shows are excellent.

Oh, the UK depressed the hell out of me when I went this past Christmas. I think it was because I went during winter time, but being stuck in Canterbury without internet and then going into London being lost in GIANT crowds, my parents' bank being weird, the car rental being difficult and spiders infiltrating my bathroom..England itself (not the enitre UK, we wanted to travel around but the car rental place said we couldn't take it out of England) was just..BLEH. But I love your transportation.
