Do GAF girls act like men in threads ?

I have exactly one skirt. :D I like it, though I rarely wear it. It's plaid, and you have to be real careful when you are trying to match plaid with... any colors, really.

I do watch "girly" television shows (mostly CW and old WB shows, sadly), but I also watch [what GAF would consider to be] "manly" shows. Whatever that means. I stopped watching Gossip Girl after the first season, and stopped watching Grey's about, oh, IDK, 80 seasons ago. Even though I know it's popular, I'm always surprised to hear it's still on because I stopped caring about it so long ago. Now you guys (gals) have got me thinking about how I'm stereotypically girly, though... that's going to be tough. :lol I'm such a tomboy.

There's an... interesting movie called Rules of Attraction which I mainly remember for having a scene with Ian Somerhalder dancing around in his undies. Yeah.

And he was dancing to George Michael's 'Faith'. Don't leave that part out.

I'm the kind of person who can't tell when a show has gone bad or not. So to me, Grey's Anatomy is still really good (and the season finale for this season seems pretty excellent). I stuck with Nip/Tuck till the end, through all the fan's saying the show was complete shit, everything. I was utterly let down by the finale episode though. Ugh.

I'm pretty 50/50 between tomboy/girly. Maybe more 75/25. I do read women's magazines (I got tired of Cosmo but I do enjoy Glamour from time to time). I'm still trying to replace it them though with a suitable magazine that covers computers/video games and comics.

I'll have to explain this all later. I'm moving my stuff to my dad's external hard drive because Geek Squad put a non-genuine Windows 7 on to my laptop. SO now I have to re-install it. AGAIN. I gotta find the CD too...ugggh..

Meh, don't really care about fashion and style, also don't copy latest "fashion trends", like those HUGE shoulder bags, and tops that make you look like you're 4 months pregnant, or those hideous gigantic sunglasses. I just wear what I *think* looks good on me, and what I feel comfortable in.

Not a shopaholic but I like buying stuff for myself occasionally, especially love shopping for jeans and shirts (female dress shirts with collars are so awesome or high-neck stylish shirts for winter). I don't wear skirts, shorts or dresses. It gets pretty cold here so I don't get to wear them very often. Shoes and bags? Well, as long as they're comfortable and look somewhat stylish, I'm not really bothered about them. My sister's got tons of cute bags and shoes so sometimes I use hers when I'm in the mood. One of the many perks of living with your older sister. :p

I don't wear tons of make-up. Just lipstick (not nude though, it's another one of those new trends that I don't follow. They make you look sick and washed out!) and eye liner (mostly brown and only on top lashline and a bit smudged so it doesn't look over the top) and that's it. Too much make-up looks tacky, imo.

Heh, never liked any of those shows. My guilty pleasure would be The Vampire Diaries, it's weird because I don't like vampire stuff, especially Twilight. The show sucks but I can't stop watching it. I only watch it for Ian Somerhalder, hottest vampire since Brad pit from The interview with the Vampire. :lol

Chalk me up as another person who watches Vampire Diaries as a guilty pleasure.Boon (Ian Somerhailder) does a great Damon.

I'd say 75/25 is about right. If anything would push me towards 50/50, it would be my obsession with hair and clothing. Mostly hair, mostly on other people. I make a point of discussing the hair of TV show characters with friends even if they couldn't give a lick, which I'm sure is annoying to them, and it REALLY bothers me when someone has bad hair. :lol

Apologies! The second most important part of the scene after Somerhalder being (almost) naked.

That reminds me, tho, one of my guilty pleasures is The Tudors, the premise of which is that all of the members of the court of Henry VIII were perpetually young and really, really hot, including the king himself. It's a bit trashy, but the production values are nice (the costumes, oh, the costumes!) and Henry Cavill, who plays Henry VIII's BFF, is just about the most attractive man alive. And occasionally appears naked on the show, well, almost naked. I'm shallow about these things, you see...

I'm way hotter than ALL those dudes. Just sayin'.

Wow this thread is a real eye opener. I've always had problems talking with the opposite sex, and this thread has taught me a lot. Discussing genetalia as an ice-breaker, who knew?

I don't post pics of myself online as a rule. Only pic of me on this forum is in the tattoo thread. I've been known to swap pics person to person though...

Honestly how much fun are we talkin here? swapping pics of tits and genitalia? maybe even stepping up to some web cam action?

But do you really need Gaf to get that kinda "fun" from girls online?

If there's more to the "fun"...please do share.

This thread seems to have gone all over the place. Has this become the Girl-Gaf official thread incognito? I suspect if there were an official girl-gaf thread it would draw too much of the wrong kind of attention. Anyway, carry on...

I have obviously not rebooted my comp yet D: Still trying to find my Win 7 CD ;_;

Off to pick up my stuffed crust pizza before I get rained on.

I think I'm 75% girly and 25% tomboyish. I don't read women's mags though, sometimes I just look at the clothes and get a few make-up inspirations, my sister loves Avon's catalogue mag, their products are quite cheap and do the job. She also likes MAC but I don't really care for them, too bloody expensive!! I don't really buy my own make-up most of the time though, my sister does. :lol

I haven't worn much in terms of makeup lately. I'm a Vaseline fiend though, but I wear mascara, sometimes eyeliner (haven't worn it since high school), and I LOVE my red lipstick. I want to wear it every day with nothing else on my face. I just love the way it looks. But normally I just wash my face and go~.

Clothes, I like the bubble dresses ;_; and you no love the giant sunglasses? ;_; I love 'em just because they look so cute sometimes on people.

I've never seen Vampire Diaries, but I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm currently in the middle of season 7. Sex and the City was something as a teenager I couldn't watch, so my (former) friend's mom had it from China, and he, my other former friend mentioned earlier and I would go to his house and watch it together because it was just taboo for us. Then he got pissed one day and threw out the entire series. Because he felt we weren't spending enough time with him without the show which wasn't the case. He was SUCH a dick.

Gossip Girl I tried to resist, but then I saw the chemistry between Blair/Chuck and I got sucked in.

I do watch Daily Show, Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, Chopped (Food Network FTW!), 30 Rock, Community and sometimes Modern Family. Those shows are excellent.

Oh, the UK depressed the hell out of me when I went this past Christmas. I think it was because I went during winter time, but being stuck in Canterbury without internet and then going into London being lost in GIANT crowds, my parents' bank being weird, the car rental being difficult and spiders infiltrating my bathroom..England itself (not the enitre UK, we wanted to travel around but the car rental place said we couldn't take it out of England) was just..BLEH. But I love your transportation.
Vaseline? Can you even consider it make-up? I do have a very dry skin so I have to use tons of moisturisers and stuff but I don't consider that make-up. I can't stand mascara, makes my eyes water like crazy. I don't think I've ever worn true red shades, I like rose reds, or pinkish reds, never too dark though. But Britta from community changed my mind about them, she looked phenomenal in red lipstick in Valentines episode.

http://i41.tinypic.com/sku7ox.jpg !!!

Well, if you like Buffy then you'd like Vampire Diaries. It's kinda similar, Daman is like Spike, Stephan is like Angel (down to his struggle with his evil side), and then there is a friend who's a witch. :p Ever watched Angel (the show)? I preferred that show over Buffy.

UK isn't that bad, yeah the weather sucks but other than that, I love it here. You can't really judge the entire UK based on one or two cities though. Leeds (where I live) is so different than London, or even Birmingham.

Oh yeah, I've heard really bad things about that movie so I decided not to watch it. I might do for (almost) naked Ian Somerhalder!

PS: I love Bender! Futurama kicks ass, I know I might get a ton of hate for saying this, but Futurama is (was) way better than Simpsons.

Yeah, this is definitely NOT a girl-age topic. Girl-age = guys having girl problems , mostly relationship related problems.

This is an OFFICIAL Girl-GAF topic.

growing up i was always a huge tomboy, especially when i was a kid. i didn't want anything to do with anything girly. this pretty much lasted up until middle school when it started to slowly but surely recede over the course of a few years.

i still have a lot of typical "guy" interests but now i'm just better at meshing them with the female side. i love to look fashionable. i love doing my makeup. i love painting my nails. i love jewelry and accessories. i love high heels. etc. but at the same time i cuss way more than i should, love tech, computers, videogames, etc. as a result of all this i'd usually much rather hang out with guys than girls, and i work at a place where the ratio of girls to guys is like 1:15.

and yeah, the girls of gaf need an official thread to talk about our girl stuff. someone make one!

Oooh, we should just make up silly thread titles now...This is fun...

Official Girl-GAF: Samus Could Beat Master Chief
Official Girl-GAF: No, We Won't Give You Advice On Girls.

Girl-Age: Official thread of "Something about this doesn't feel right"

I guess this is as good of a place as any to ask, I need some female advice I guess.

At work I am in charge of organizing our events and fun activities, and our main goal is always to get as many attendants as possible. The last event I held last week had a turn up of about 30%, which is really high compared to what we usually have - unfortunately that 30% included 1 girl. They really want me to figure out a way to bring females into events and outings and what have you, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. I'll talk to girls at work and they'll all just say "try to do something that girls will like!" and when I ask for specifics, I get nothing - or for example I'll get something like "bowling" - make a bowling event, and no girls will show still.

I am tired of girls just say "have something girly", frankly, I am this close to having a dish washing contest or something, the hell do they mean girly!? Any advice females? Or even males? What could I do to pull more girls in?

Ya know, I don't know to be honest. I'd say paintball. If someone told me "Hey, we're having paintball, men versus the women" I think I'd be on that. Other than that....open bar? Not implying women are constant drinkers, but I'd think an open bar would bring ANYONE to the event.

Set something up so its like teams or something.

Lost is still pretty damn awesome and hands-down the best show on TV in my opinion. But yes, Boon was pretty damn awesome.

On that note, any Smallville fans here. Started watching when it first aired and wala ten years later and I'm still watching it.

My father, sister and I watch Smallville together. We have all the episodes from this season recorded onto our DVR, then we watch them in a marathon. I'm actually liking the seasons now rather than the ones in the beginning just because these later seasons feel more comic-y rather than teenage drama-esque.

Even though it isn't on currently, I still heart Battlestar Galactica. I'm watching the entire series for the fourth time trying to get my buddy into it.

I can't get into LOST.

I used to love Lost but current episodes have been a bit lacklustre, too many filler episodes for my liking. I wish they had gone with regular 25 episodes for this last season, I wouldn't have minded the filler episodes then. Also not feeling the light (good) versus dark (evil) storyline. I like shows that deal with shades of grey, but after watching MIB's latest episode, that just might be the case.

We've only got series finale left, right? I'm not even excited for that, and I used to be such a huge Lost fangirl! Got my bf hooked on it.

I dislike Superman, one of the reasons why I never gave Smallville show a chance. :p

I used to love Prison Break. Only watched first two seasons, though, need to watch last two seasons. Oh and Boston Legal used to be one of my favourite shows back in the day.

Heroes during it's first season used to be my guilty pleasure but then it got too ridiculous so I stopped watching it. :\

Nice. Its amazing how much it has changed over the years. Although the early seasons hold a special place in my heart. However the constant teenage-drama did eventually get a bit much (loved the dynamic between Lex and Clark though) but I stuck with it and I'm happy I did. The seasons finale for season 9 was absolutely brilliant.

You need check out Smallville, maybe not all 9 seasons but definitely the first five and the last 2 seasons.

And Lost does not have any filler episodes (you must be talking about Supernatural). Unless you're referring to the older seasons. Although last weeks episode was not as good as the week before or the episode about Ricardo's past.

I've watched Prison Break to the end, unfortunately it did not manage to retain the quality of the first season in the last two. But still ended pretty decently.

Heroes completely jumped the shark and I'm glad its cancelled.

One Tree Hill is another show that completely lost the plot after the initial 4 seasons (which were great).

Boston Legal got too....repetitive for me. Eli Stone is a much better show.

In terms of shows I don't watch any more, Greys Anatomy would be one of them. I know munchy watches that and I wonder if it got any better during season 5. I gave up after season 4.

Gossip Girl is another guilty pleasure of mine but I only watched it because it was from the creator of The OC. Although Chuck is the better show out of the two. That said, I tend to leave the fact that I watch chick shows out of conversations with friends. They'd have a field day if they knew I watched a show called "Gossip Girl". :lol

Might be able to get away with watching Desperate Housewives though. :lol

Oh I dunno, it's got NINE seasons. As for Lost, well, compare these episode to episodes from season 4 and 5 to some extent, they certainly do feel slow paced in comparison.

I stopped watching Prison Break mid second season. Same with Boston Legal, early seasons of both shows were awesome. Not really surprised that Heroes got cancelled, I'm surprised it went on for almost 3 seasons (I think?).

I have a few friends who watch Gossip Girl, not my cup of tea. I do like the chemistry between Chuck and Blair.

Oh, I completely forgot to mention Dexter. But I think that most villains in that show don't compare to Ice truck Killer. Miguel was awesome though.

I used to watch Angel and Buffy back in the day. Prefer Angel over buffy though, it's a bit darker and has no high school drama, one of the few reasons why I prefer it.

I'm on board with this one!

Also, re: my son: I feel like a father with a beautiful daughter. Ima have to get a shotgun. He's just so freakin cute.

I keep trying to come up with my girliest qualities. I'm a squealer. I love fuzzy things. I do like skirts, when I wear them, but windy days have burned me often. I make necklaces and bracelets! That's pretty girly.

But I also like fighting, beer, swearing, and wearing big, heavy boots, unless it's warm, and then it's all about the Birks. I'd make such an excellent boy.

I think maybe part of my less-than-girliness is that I'm a little older than most of y'all (I'd guess) at 31. OLD GAF REPRESENT

Hell yeah I will. Or maybe next year when he starts t-ball. You know, for those bad calls, or the times when the ball falls down and hits your foot or something (since there's no pitching).
