Do you like the name "NX" or do you think Nintendo should change it?

IMO Wii-Go would fit their theme. It also works because it's basically a portable Wii.

I like NX, but I can't help to think Nintendo will call it the Trii.

(cause it breaks in 3 parts, assuming the rumours are true.)
 
Nintendo Go is good.

Nintendo NX I'm happy with.

Nintendo GameMan is terrible.

Nintendo Slate would be a nod to BotW. However would probably get Nintendo'sLate negative hater comments.

Nintendo XD looks like a guy laughing and might have some legal issues with Disney XD

Nintendo Pants is just stupid. Sorry.

Nintendo Journey sounds neat however it is a title of a PS3 game.

Nintendo Act is an awesome name. Just came up with it. Kudos to me.
 
We can't go with Nintendo Act. That's the name of the legislation banning and dismantling Nintendo after their disastrous and lethal first attempt at neural implant gaming in 2042.
 
Nintendo Entertainment System.

If the NX can play on the road, at home, and possibly even hook into VR eventually, I think the name would fit.

Seriously though, Wii Go wouldn't be the worst thing. Or Nintendo Go.

It would stop all those Pokemon Go clones, because they'd then sound like Go games.

They sure as hell won't call it NES, for those suggesting that. They've just announced a mini NES and wouldn't want to create brand confusion all over again...
 
Just because people are already starting it - Nintendo Go is a shitty name and not even what the hybrid rumour suggests.

They already confirmed awhile ago that NX is the platform, not the device... So it's either going to be the "Nintendo Something, NX version 1.X" or "Nintendo NX: Portable"

It's not just going to be the Nintendo NX.
 
Considering Nintendo said that the NX means nothing, I wouldn't expect the name to have an X or Cross or whatever.

I think it's going to be called Nintendo Go.
 
Nintendo NeXus. Descriptive and honors NX codename.

Nintendo Go. Simple and packs instant recognition from Pokemon Go. Alt: NintenGo.

NEX. Nintendo Entertainment Experience.

The Nintendo NEware. All new. Anywhere.

NX is a hardcore gamer name, not a blue ocean strategy name. They definitely should drop the Wii name though, as well as DS. Something fresh and new for a new console concept.
 
It needs a new name. NX is too generic and too obtuse (if it is meant to stand for Nintendo "Cross"). It sounds cool in a 90s gamer sort of way but that isn't the market for this console (presumably).

I think it needs to be something energetic like Nintendo "Go", "Trek", "Dash", "Wave", "Flow", "Flux", "Wind", "Echo", "Bounce", or "Sprint".
 
NX == NES-X

They NES Classic is being released this year so all the kids understand what an NES and why the new console shares its name.
 
Whichever name they choose, I just hope it differentiate itself from the Wii and DS brand. Although I like both NX and Nintendo GO, I am expecting something clever and a bit catchy. If the rumors of a hybrid console turn out to be true, a name that easily connects to the idea of portable and home would be perfect.

No it's not. If anything the existence of the NES Classic would mean it's not being called the NES or Nintendo, or something else that sounds stupid and unmarketable.
 
It will probably be a word that currently doesn't exist.

Nintendo Go doesn't really work because it only refers to half the function.
 
It should definitely remain as NX. None of Nintendo now knows what it means, but if they're going for a cross platform between handheld and mobile, and Japan usually uses X as cross rather than 10, I think it should stay that way.
