Do you think Nintendo will restrict violent games on Rev?

Imagine playing a game with knives or something and the harder you do a stabbing motion with your hand, the harder it attacks them on the game... it sems a bit freaky and I'm concerned if such games do come out there'll be major legal problems and the press will start slagging off videogames once more.

Do you think Nintendo will want to monitor them? Could get worryingly realistic.

If a game is TOO violent, ESBR could give it a AO rating and no one will carry it. Would a dev really want that? I don't think so.

Are you being serious? I mean. The same can be applied to any kind of game where you have to push the button fast...

Slitting someone's throat in the game with a breadknife, whilst you slowly move the controller in a cutting motion is more sinister.

Naw, they should a clip of a 'survival horror' game in their controller reel.

And there were barely any kids in any of those pictures - they were mostly older teenagers and above - so I don't think they intend to market it toward the 'youngest crowd' this time around.

Besides, look at the damn thing, it is so mature, sleek, and sexy looking - it woun't fight right in consumers minds to only see Pokemon-style games for the system.

I expecgt a much more mature portfolio this time from them - especially considering their rampent praise of FPS genre for the system - so I wouldn't imagine too much censorship.

We may even expect some bloody Metroid?!?!

And lets not forget which version of XXX BMX was censored, and which wasnt :)

I don't think jabbing motions are going to be any more "frighteningly realistic" than the light gun games that have existed since Virtua Cop (meaning the ones with location specific reactions, not the FMV-esque stuff like Area 51).

It could be cool if there's an FPS with a regular gamepad for a majority of the maneuvering, but motion detection for melee attacks and moving stuff around in the environment.

:lol, I can TOTALLY see the media blaming Nintendo for teaching little Jonny how to stab someone, etc.

:S

I just hope the devs are responsible with these sorts of issues. It truly is more sinister because the Rev.'s interface is more immersive than pressing a button.

Hmm...this is actually a really good point. Making realistic graphics means nothing because you're still doing the same things - press a button to make something happen.

Once the pyschotic witch-hunt gets underway over what you can do with the Revolution (swing weapons, shoot guns etc) then it's obviously a different matter altogether

I'm not saying it WILL make a difference but you know the ignorant fucks will jump on this and demand censorship

I understand your concerns. But I don't think Nintendo would censor games.....i mean look at RE4 and Killer7. However, they would definately be censored by Ratings boards if they had highly gruesome actions.

Thanks a lot, now I want a Tenchu Revolution :(

Nintendo needs to pay a company to make an uberviolent realistic type of game, then they can get GTA level publicity and it will take off more and more.

I wonder if FPS can be done amazingly well with the controller, how far after launch does metroid come out?

I bet they will because the company is for preschoolers. Lol! I think preschoolers are running it, actually! Lol! Haha.

That's a good idea actually. Imagine something like Manhunt. :-o
