I'll end up going, end up finding a some new friends to share my who discussions with. Pretty much only time I ever talk about Who is on here.

So
he has 13 new ones or is there just no limit?
This was asked at the event yesterday to Capaldi, how many lives does the Doctor have. He tried to look at Moff for an answer who liked away like he wasn't going to help and left him dangling for a while before saying
26, but in an off hand questioning way. Basically there's no real answer until a writer cares or has a plot round it.

Funny though.

I assume it's another 13, but I suppose it's also an opportunity for Moffat or a future writer to remove the limit, now that it's been addressed.

I generally think it's one of those things that just doesn't actually matter. It's not a real jeopardy and probably shouldn't be for the same of the show, so dangling much off it seems odd

The problem is that "the Doctor is dead... FOR GOOD... NO BACKSIES" was already done not just in season 6, but also sort of in season 7's finale and even "Time of the Doctor". To Moffat's credit, I think he realized how dry that well is getting and did the full reset for regenerations and the cameo in "Day of the Doctor" precisely to prevent that sort of thing from coming up again. Now, if he had actually planned out that "11th Doctor is actually the 13th form", he could have done the last regeneration angst in season 6, but alas.

To Moffat's credit, he actually seems to like addressing major holes, even if he too finds hilariously convenient ways to deal with them. I had a feeling during the RTD era that most of the rules of the series were out of the window as a general rule, which frankly I didn't care about too much since this series thrives on making shit up as it goes along, but it was nice that Moffat didn't just pretend the 12 rule didn't matter if Gallifrey wasn't in the same universe or some nonsense. Seeing as how the Time Lords gave the Master a new set during I think the Trial of the Time Lord, it seemed to make some sense that they'd give the Doctor another dozen seeing as how he saved their bacon.

Maybe because I'm a redhead, but I've never been one for redheads. She's an attractive woman for sure, though.

Truth. Zoe. Peri. Clara. Brunettes all.

You have great taste

I'd throw in Sarah Jane, and Leela, and Martha, and technically Bernard Cribbins

A bit off topic, but have you guys seen the Doctor Who Nerdist All Star Celebrity Bowling? It's Smith/Gillan, but the Moffat haters will be happy to know he's a completely rubbish bowler.

I kind of liked it though. It was looming in the distance. I'm kind of sad it was so casually removed.

I'm going to enjoy not thinking about the regeneration limit for the next 20-30 years.

RTD mainly used the "out" of the Time War to explain away inconsistencies.

Also I thought it was The Five Doctors where the Master gets the offer of the new regeneration cycle as an incentive to do the Time Lords dirty work for them.

You're right. It's been a while :p

Man, I dunno if it's my phone or the OP, but I can't get the first page of this thread to load on mobile without turning images off.

The only spoiler I want to know (but I don't want to look around and eat more spoilers):

Are there going to be any new companions with the Doctor besides Clara?

Just a yes or no please.

I feed on the lamentations of Moffat-haters.

Also:

LEAK ALERT

There's a blurry cam leak of the opening sequence on youtube. WHICH IS AMAZING. I dunno if I should post the link, but it's on reddit's /r/doctorwho right now.

like the clockwork, but it looks like it's going to be jarring CGI.

Thanks. Just seen it, looks great. I really like it.

Thanks for the link.

yeah, that's the best one in a while. Not sure about the music- the lyrics
of random "Oh My God!"
don't work that well. ;)

I just got back from watching Guardians of the Galaxy and there was a promo for the new season at the beginning.
It was amazing.
I'm so pumped.

That's them!
Can't believe I forgot the face. Oddly the 2005 titles still stick on my mind as what the titles are really, but very good.

Neonvisual am cry. Har har.

I'm terrible at Reddit. Can someone just post the link.

With reddit, because there are a lot of subreddits, just type in google something like Doctor Who reddit/subreddit and it will be the first link. Then just sort by new at the top and you should be able to find it next time.

Still can't find it.

I feel like an old man.

The cycle would be for 12 regenerations. There were 13 Doctors on the first go around because the First Doctor would have been born, not regenerated from.
