Maybe Clara's reincarnations are simply coincidences and the twist is that the three Claras have no relation or ultimate mystery at all, and the Doctor realizes his whole life he's chased things that have no real meaning, offs himself, and then regenerates into Martin Freeman the depressed sarcastic 12th Doctor.

Maybe the Claras are actually part of the Flesh and are all copied by one woman that was created by the Silence and Steven Moffat actually shows he gives a shit about the last season's finales?

So, it's early yet, but I'm gonna lay down a bet now that Oswin is actually somehow River being reincarnated out of the computer.

I would like some Oswin/River meet-ups (if only for the possibility of animosity) but the idea of them being connected in any way is gross.

Crap I'm in love with her already! lol

I'm in love.

Get in line =p

This is the most I've been excited for a season since the last "season" with Ten. Dunno why, but I'm really getting a S1 Rose/Nine vibe from this season? Maybe it's because everything has changed SO MUCH, including Eleven, and it feels like a fresh start just like Nine was =D

Wish we had animated avatars. :(

Is this Smith? It's really too quick to see much.

Or finally, maybe Stephen Moffat just thought this would be a clever idea and has no intention of ever giving this mystery some type of closure or resolution by the end of the series, leaving us with more questions than answers. Like always.

Maaaaaaan, what I wouldn't do for a commentary track/podcast track...and Confidential. Gawd I miss those days =((((

For a season? Hey, we're still in the middle of a series, remember? :p

Wonder what the Series 7 box will look like. So many elements to contain, between 3 companions, a bunch of iconic monsters, two new title sequences, recurring characters like River and Vastra, and the inevitable desire to wrap it in some 50th feel.

Will it include last year's Christmas Special?

Good question. ...Probably? The Series 7 Part 1 Blu-Ray doesn't have it, apparently. But it'd be odd to leave it off...

Oh, but the "Part 1" set for S6 didn't have A Christmas Carol. So I'd say The Complete Seventh Series would have The Doctor Does Narnia or whatever it's called.

man i sure loved this episode mUCH MUCH MUCH More than last year or the year before it ..

It had actions , it had quick and lightning words jabs .. it had a nice ennemy..it had nice little references ..i'm very pleased ...

oh the new tardis interior !!!!

Couldn't Clara / Oswin be the daughter of Captain Jack (when did he first arrive on Earth after the Satellite 5 incident anyways)? I suppose that could explain why she cannot die (unless this issue has already been touched, you'd figured he'd have multiple offspring everywhere)

The Series 5 version of The Doctor's Wife had House as The Great Intelligence, but Moffat had Gaiman nix it, presumably to pinch it for this. Also, for those wondering, the London Underground weakness the Doctor already pointed out was exploited by The Great Intelligence and thwarted by The Doctor way back in 1968. This show!

Excellent episode. Clara is amazing. Sort of sad it's a slight cop-out on an actual period companion and it appears she'll be from the present day, but other than that, I am massively, massively pleased. Top stuff. Miles better than Amy already. Also worth noting: Clara's birthday on the Tombstone is the same day in November that the series first aired. Probably deliberate, and knowing Moffat more than just a harmless nod.

But why 1966 and not 1963? We need to take a closer look.

That bit about The Great Intelligence originally being House is something I never knew. I definitely got House vibes from GI in this episode. Looking forward to where they are going to take the character as I don't think they are done with GI just yet in New Who.

Doctor Who, just the man I wanted to see.

Feel free to use that (or anyone, really). I thought it was a badass shot fit for the user with the most appropriate name.

And here we go.

I'm not sure I want that. Personality definitely matches though.

I'm.. unconvinced of whether I want it or not. But I think it has a high likelihood, and not just because of the personality (which, as Moffat's detractors are rather fond of pointing out, is basically an archetypal character for him).

Btw was it Amy's glasses he was wearing early in the episode?

According to wiki. . .

1869.

He does have multiple offspring, but the only other one we've seen aged as normal.

Great Intelligence = leader of the Silence? Kovarian was merely a puppet?
The Great Intelligence is a villain from the old Doctor Who serials, who at some point attacked through the London Underground.

So it was a callback to those stories.

The Great Intelligence returning means Ian McKellen returning, right? Right?!

I'd be shocked if we saw the Great Intelligence again.

Again, this was sort of a prequel to the old Who stories about the Great Intelligence.

Five bucks says the Great Intelligence doesn't just use humans as puppets and they are controlling the Silence.
He also uses mechanical yetis apparently, so... who knows?

I know that, but I'm merely asking if The Great Intelligence could also have some sort of connection with The Silence.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Twas a fun episode.
Needed more Richard E. Grant though, he felt pointless.
But Clara is awesome, I look forward to more of her. New episodes coming in April right?
