It would be fun if Jeff reappeared in one episode as a member of UNIT, the Doctor did make him famous in the alien-aware circles and said he'd be offered a job.

So, the whistleblower stuff seems a bit fantastical and not entirely convincing, this piece especially sticks out as odd, although not really a story spoiler but I'll keep it hidden.

•One of the incentives to keep MATT SMITH is that he will DIRECT A DOCTOR LITE EPISODE.

Wasn't the point of the Doctor Lite to allow multiple episodes to be filmed at the same time? Wouldn't putting Matt behind the camera be even more costly of his time?

Also, possible mild Christmas spoiler.

•This years Christmas Special has SANTA as his companion along with CLARA.

I think this would be the point where I put my foot through the TV.

That's *a* purpose, but there's no reason it wouldn't be the only purpose. When actors on tv shows direct for the first time it's pretty normal for the episode to not have much of them in it.

Hah, and Joe Dempsie is of course Gendry, so that's another GoT link.

I want to believe these spoilers in a way...but...with the fact that there is no mention of the Doctor using his Sonic Screwdriver as a plot device, I find them hard to believe.

I've watched every episode of new Who and at this moment in time I've got no fucking clue what's going on with the River saga, silence, 'Dr Who?' etc.

I'd say I'm fairly indicative of the average show watcher, and in that respect this season, and in fact the last couple have been really poor at building these overarching mysteries. They're my favourite part of the show but there's just so little payoff thus far.

You guys seem to be able to remember episode names and scenes, but I promise you the average viewer doesn't. When you all refer to what River said in the library, or whatever, I'm just lost. I remember watching an episode with River in some sort of library but I can't remember what happened or why it's important now.

I agree when/if the Tardis explosion gets explained, most people will be "What the fuck?" I think it's the reason he hasn't resolved it yet, but the longer he leaves it, the longer it becomes an issue.

Having over-arching plotlines is awesome, but not if you leave them for so long they stagnate.

Wait, is that still going on?

I thought that whole Tardis explosion, crack in time nonsense was dealt with? I thought the fucking Silence were dealt with? I hoped River had been dealt with.

These aren't even exciting mysteries any more. And they've had almost zero buildup this season. We've just had the Clara stuff, which by the sounds of it leads back into all these archaic plot lines.

Moffat better have an ace up his sleeve.

I only remember the TARDIS explosion is a loose end when it's mentioned in this thread. :lol It should have wrapped up in The Big Bang, or in some of the more bombastic Series 6 episodes. It will be neat if it's resolved, but whatever the explanation is it doesn't really deserve more than a passing mention now. The Silence also feel like a non-issue by now, they were creepy enough but never really gelled as an organization for me to be honest.

Well whats interesting is that she claims she worked on the show-but this place where she's worked for the "last 3 summers" is in Florida.

That being said-we're giving way too much attention to this nudnik. Let's move on.

So what does this mean? Are they lying about lying?

It means that the concocted story about being a BBC runner and having even the slightest level of insider knowledge is almost assuredly bullshit. Whoever wrote that is absolutely delusional.

Not only that, but the name she gave doesn't match up to the bio on the site.

Too right. There's exciting stuff going down in the 50th Anniversary thread, if anyone's interested?

I'm not joking. Take your season splits and drive into a ravine you awful Yanks.
At least our split seasons usually have a small gap from right before Christmas to February on average.

You silly Brits took your Doctor Who off the air from September until March with a single holiday special filling the 6 month gap. You can't even do season splits right. Not only that but even when the seasons aren't split, it's usually a really long time, sometimes 9-10 months before your shows possibly come back maybe. Then they're only around for 6-13 weeks on average.

That's the way I liked it. 13 weeks of AWESOME, not 1 year of anti-climax and waiting.

it's not our fault your shows try to copy the season split without copying the rest of the format.

Season splits even started because shows would have like 20 something episodes in a full season and 13 eps or so in a half.

A network would order like 13 episodes of a show, then have a midseason break and if the show was successful it would actually come back

this "six episodes and peace out for six months" is not on us. Talk to BBC's cheap ass about that shit.

Doctor Who basically had a schedule like Young Justice, a show that was notable over here for being screwed over in its scheduling.

Wait, the whistleblower stuff was fake? I'm interested in reading it now, since it's not actually a bunch of spoilers.

Er, what can I safely read? I'm tempted to just click on all black bars on this page, but I'm guessing that there are some real spoilers that have been posted today!

It's less about being cheap and more about the BBC having a duty to produce shows for everyone; more than around 13 episodes of Who a year would be (besides being utterly impossible/impractical filming-wise) difficult to justify, really.

The BBC might be a bit of a cheapskate, but I wouldn't swap our ad-free broadcasts of Who for the world. As much as Moffat and co stress "we do the cuts to the American version for ad breaks in Wales to make sure it doesn't get gutted," I'm glad we get it raw! They can be as cheap as they like as far as I'm concerned!

PS: Whistleblower being fake means the Christmas regeneration talk is back in the game! I think it's happening.

Well it's good that is over, lol.

But we still have the spoilers from before whoever this was from like a week ago, or whenever it was, that line up the synopsis of the final episode and I wouldn't be surprised if that is where this whoever decided to spin their tale.

Thankfully, we aren't too far away from the actual finale regardless of spoilers or fake blogs etc.

Yeah well it could be that the "Whistleblower" is responsible for those too.

I don't know who to trust!!

Christ. Watching that new BBC One Drama Tennant is in... he just
rather brutally raped his wife.
Not something one associates his often happy, gurning turn as the Doctor With, for sure

Funny you should say that, but one of the first things I watched him in he played
a brutal rapist/murderer
, and then the other thing I saw him in was Casanova. So I had to adjust to The Doctor, weirdly.

EDIT: The first thing I mentioned is called "Secret Smile". Very dark.

Don't know how he played it in Secret Smile, but he's playing this in his 'Doctor' accent rather than his natural one, which is making it even worse for me.

Weirdly, it's actually making me think about what the time climbing the political ladder would've been like for The Master and what he would've got up to, abusing Lucy etc.
