Now I've thought about it.

There is one woman I could stomach as Dr Who.

As long as she brings that classy English accent she uses when living in the UK.

Gillian Anderson.

Does she just use that accent for shits and giggles? My uncle said he saw her on a UK talk show and she was using the accent so he assumed she was British.

I saw her in person last year and she had her normal accent.

Still say the only rational choice for a female Doctor is Olivia Coleman. I'm surprised her name hasn't been thrown around more, unless she publicly expressed dislike of the show or something.

Hayley Atwell

Just saw a poll over at IGN and Coleman made the list. Albeit she was last on that list. At least she was on the list.

Hayley Atwell. Mmmm.

This guy is perfect

I dare say the next step in his career should be to play the most lovable character ever once he's done with Thrones. He needs to change his image.

This amused me :)

I know it is the Star but... seriously?

No kidding! Everyone knows that "Doctor" is never abbreviated, and that TARDIS is written in all caps. The only TARDIS Paris Jackson is getting is one of those cookie jars that make the wooshing noise when you open it.

There are still lost episodes who nobody found a copy?

There almost certainly always will be. It's not like people had VCRs for most of that part of the history of the show. Though I think audio recordings of varying quality have been found of all of them?

Yeah, there are intact audio tracks (which have been released to the public) for every episode, as well as photographs of varying quality. They'll probably never find all of the episodes, but there are likely at least a few more out there in the wild.

I was majorly bummed when it was announced Smith was leaving. But now I'm excited to see who will be next-and it should give the show and shot in the arm at least. Season 5 was great-maybe we can reach those heights again.

Come oooon that guy from Serenity/Children of Men/The Shadow Line whose name I don't have a hope in hell of spelling right so I won't even try.

If it is tomorrow evening, there's a good chance that it breaks while I'm doing a Doctor Who marathon with a bunch of other Doctor Who fanboys, for extra fanboy thrills. :D

Starburst's sources are telling them that the front runners as they had heard were...
Daniel Kaluuya
Dominic Cooper
Domnhall Gleeson.

I could see Kaluuya working, although he'd be the youngest thus far. 15 Million Merits proved he has the dramatic chops.

Cooper is surely too big for it.

Of those I'm hoping Gleeson. But I am really hoping for a female Doctor.

Putting faces to names from that Starburst report.

Domnhall Gleeson

I like this dude. Quite a bit.

Dominic Cooper

I thought this guy was busy hustling his ass off to secure roles in Hollywood. But if he's interviewing and actively chasing the role - dude's got a TON of charisma.

Daniel Kaluuya

I don't know shit about this guy. I don't know if he's THAT young-looking, though. Certainly not younger looking than Smith was when we first started seeing his pictures.

I think with Smith, what mitigated his youthful look was his voice, more than anything. Once we started hearing that guy talk, and we saw him move in that gangly, cautious way he moves, he stopped seeming like such a kid, and more like an old-dude trapped in a kids body.

Anyway, we don't really know shit about the veracity of the Starburst report, either, but it's at least SOMEWHAT (kinda, sorta) more informed than the rest of the spec from the preceding week.

Surprised to not see Ben Whishaw on the list. I was hearing from the media that he was the more favored for the role.

He's another who's getting too big. He's just landed himself a prominent recurring job on the Bond movies, which is only going to make him bigger.
I don't know shit about this guy.

Track yourself down a copy of the Black Mirror episode "15 Million Merits" as soon as you get a moment. Kaluuya puts in one of the best performances I've seen in a drama there.

He's also appeared on Who before, funnily enough; he was Barclay in Planet of the Dead.

Of these three choices I'd take Kaluuya in a heartbeat. Cooper or Gleeson would be so boring.
