The Doctor Who panel will start at 12:30pm pst by the way.
also at this point I don't want them to wait until the Christmas special to show off the 12th Doctor. I know it would never happen anyway, but now that we know he will be regenerating it isn't much of a big deal. Unless they do hire a black and/or female actor. Then it would be more shocking to see for the first time.

Wow, Barrowman kinda needs to let it go. He's already got asked back once, but was busy with Torchwood. It's not like Moffatt has some sort of vendetta against him. He just doesn't fit with the story. Does he have any idea the show has existed for 42 years before he showed up, and the fraction of characters actually returning is tiny? Seems like one companion per Doctor, which is fine.

I've pretty much come to the same conclusion as well. Either Smith regenerates at the end of the 50th, or he suffers his fatal wound there and the regeneration is a cliffhanger at the beginning of the Christmas special.
Everything's lining up way too tightly for him to just be fine at the end of the 50th and make it all the way through the Christmas special and regenerate at the end. Especially considering they haven't even filmed the damn thing yet.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't. It's big publicity for the show, and SDCC can leverage that effectively.
It's not like it's just the Doctor Who clips which are kept secret.
