Yet we get super-intricate details on the GotG/Thor 2/Cap 2 trailers.

The fuck.

Apparently, we can't get many details because the thing was inaudible. Too many people were screaming.

That trailer was truly epic. Daleks. Zygons. The doc dangling from the TARDIS in Trafalgar Square. Rose Tyler.

Tennant and Smith together, having a sonic screwdriver face off, shared mannerisms, Tennant telling Smith he doesn’t like the new TARDIS

And John Hurt saying “I’m looking for the Doctor” - looks like he’s in luck

It sucks that now the thing is for Marvel and BBC to show these amazing things at Comic Con and then never release it to the Internet for other people to see.

The thing is, the BBC's official page tweeted this 45 minutes ago;

Doctor Who Official ‏@bbcdoctorwho 45m
The Doctors - Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt - will face the Daleks in the #DW50 special! More soon at http://bbc.in/NupXo6

The link goes to a list of Doctor Who related videos. A lot of people seem pretty sure they were told it was coming in two hours.

The Mirror are reporting that BBC aren't releasing it.

DWO are saying it's gunna be a little later than the originally stated "2 hours"

BBC posted the tweet with "More soon..."

Don't know what to believe anymore. Midnight GMT seems the most likely time for something to appear if we are getting something. So an hour and a half to go...

I'm gonna go with "Don't listen to the tabloid reporter."

I'm pulling an all-nighter despite being on the early shift tomorrow just in case a trailer is released.

They better fucking release one.

doubt they will release anything. did the same thing with an End of Time trailer in 2009.

They showed trailers for Water of Mars and End of Time. The Water of Mars trailer was released, but the End of Time trailer was only held back because they waited for Water Of Mars to air first! Different situation here!

It's not as if the footage was stolen-it was shown to a group of fans-but not everyone is fortunate enough to get into that limited group. Don't villianize us because we all want the same access. Why hide that footage from the rest of the fanbase? Makes no sense.

I'm not disagreeing with you, necessarily, but these people paid thousands for that access.

It'll get released. Almost every promo cut for the San Diego Trailers and Advertising Expo eventually gets released for general consumption, because it doesn't make sense to spend the time and money to hire a trailer house to cut together your footage if only 8000 total people are going to see it for one day in San Diego.

That is one thing. They did not pay thousands for one trailer only, even if some(most?) of them probably considered that as a justification for buying tickets (although I think that having to see/talk to the actors >>> a trailer).

BUT: There is a way to handle this properly, and there is a way to handle this criminally. Properly handling it is simply showing the crowd the trailer first, and then a few hours later (max), bring it out to everyone. Announce the date to a minute precision and stick to it.

Because that way, no one feels bad. Those who were able to see it first got so much more than a trailer, and the whole Who fanbase do not have to feel bad because every blogger and journalist talks about how awesome the "Trailer You Will Not Be Able To See For Days or Weeks" was.

And the pleading nicely thing like they did with the finale is different. They had reason to. And reason to ask nicely.

That tweet is not nicely, without a good reason too. Because details get out. And have already, they had to do an announcement on Daleks because of it.

I sure love threatening your fans and treating them like criminals!

Hahaha, jesus. Moffat really is an arse, isn't he? I miss RTD, who would at least keep his anger relatively private.

Moffat was always a prick about fan interaction stuff, though. He used to go on Outpost Gallifrey after his episodes aired and argue with people about plot holes before he took over the show fully. There's some amazing posts of him full on telling people making very well put together criticisms to piss off. No surprise he had to stop once he took over.

That's not a threat at all. Given the vast majority of Who fans haven't been able to see this trailer anyway, why should they give a damn if another trailer which they wouldn't have been able to see isn't shown? What an awful way to treat your fanbase. :/

I would hope that subbing down to tweet length made it seem worse. But I sadly doubt it.

On the plus side, BBC America's team tweeting that shows that they have no clue how to deal with fans either!
