Yeah, not looking forward to any wigs...

Probably not happening but I'd love it if they actually used his current baldness and did a ballsy cold opening with him waking up in a hospital or something crazy.

I'd be willing to bet he's worn a wig before and you never noticed. They don't get wigs for television from the cart at the mall.

He wore a wig in the Wedding of River Song, I think. It wasn't terrible. Better than that shit fake beard he had in Day of the Moon.

Did the shop they got Amy's wig from in Pond Life/Angels Take Manhatten close down?

Maybe I'm just used to him with longer hair, or maybe remembering myself having hair that short when I was younger is biasing my opinions, but that haircut is just awful. He must be really trying to have a break from the role and getting some distance from it looks-wise because it just looks pretty bad.

This could have been taken months ago. They released this too quickly after the news regarding matt shaving his head again came out - looks too much like damage limitation.

We'll see if we get leaked filming pics from sunday - that'll corroborate or invalidate it once and for all.

A shot of that script from the side would show it as 2-3 pages thick. Regeneration scene's all ya need.

I'm really glad that Matt's getting a final episode to himself without Tennant and Hurt hogging the limelight!

To play Devil's advocate, everyone remember how much Matt said he was looking forward to Series 8?

Or they tend to be very quick at releasing photos on the day of a read through?

I seem to recall he shaved his head some time ago.. he's probably been wearing a wig for a while now, we just didn't know it. In which case, he'll look exactly the same even in shows that haven't been shot yet.

I liked Time and the Rani as a kid :(

I also love Paradise Towers, for some reason that episode always stuck with me. As an 8 year kid seeing that for the first time it was amazing.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Paradise Towers. It's easily the best story of that season, and it has a brilliant script. I love the society they built up in those episodes, and the old lady cannibals were hilarious.

I was scared of Creepy Crawly pool cleaners due to that episode. I always got the impression it was one of the less well liked episodes of Doctor Who.

You know I'm getting the impression I just have bad taste, I like Time & the Rani, I like Love & Monsters, maybe I just like bad shows :(

A complete Boxset of Doctor Who Series 1-7 has been announced, it will be available in the US on November the 5th at $349.98 and in the UK on November 4th for £167.25. It will include all episodes from "Rose" to "The Name of the Doctor" with the first 4 Series being upscaled to 1080p for the very first time.
However it will not, unfortunately, include the 50th Anniversary special or the 2013 Christmas special. I wish they could have held out for 2 months to include those episodes.

Yes, we talked about that bluray set month or two ago. Somehow I dont think S1-S4 upscale will end up well, but we'll see it soon.

I really hope that Capaldi's doctor's outfit is a bit more funky than the last two regeneration's. If it is another suit, then I'll be disappointed. I like both 10 and 11's wardrobe, but I'd like a change

There's only two things I want out of Capaldi's costume: 1. No long coat. 2. Something velvet.

I have a feeling that we'll get something modern and simple. I can't possibly see him in some sort of edwardian clothing.

So I think I've said how I've been watching Doctor Who from the start of 2005 all over again. It's interesting to see how episodes are on a rewatch or much later... just got through Waters of Mars. Much better than alot of people give it credit for, methinks.

Wait, who thought Waters of Mars was bad? One of the best of Tennant's run, imo.

Some bits of the internet and a few friends, I didn't really get why.

Oh and my law tutor. He used the bit where The Doctor suddenly decides how he can save everything as being out of character as part of some legal example and a rant about that episode.

I quite like it but haven't really heard people praise it much.

I know the answer to this question is 'Reddit is full of idiots', but, why are people on Reddit acting like saying who the 12th Doctor is is a spoiler?

That kind of thing has never been a spoiler. It was announced by the makers of the show on live TV. It was on the front of every newspaper, and announced in hourly news bulletins on the radio. I wouldn't have been able to avoid it unless I spent a month in a cave.

But for some reason they aren't allowing any discussion of it on the Doctor Who subreddit. It's mind boggling. I don't know why this annoys me so much.

There was actually someone here that was pissed off about having a thread title announce it.

The Gallifrey subreddit or the DW one? The DW is weird sometimes...and pretty damn annoying. It's just mounds of people showing off what kinds of DW stuff they bought or made instead of actual discussion. I prefer the Gallifrey one more for that.

The /r/gallifrey one demands it's spoiler tagged, but as far as I can tell outside of a month old thread you aren't allowed to discuss it at all on /r/doctorwho

Speculating about what kind of doctor he'll be is pretty much the only fun thing to talk about Who right now, until there's a trailer for the 50th at least.

It's hard to have any discussion when everything worth discussing is considered off limits.
