Donkey Kong Bananza |OT| Red Faction Gorilla

I cant decide whether to get this digitally or physically, its £58.99 on the Nintendo UK eshop and I can get the physical for £52 but not sure that'll come on launch day.

I know no one with a S2 to load the game go physically so prob just go with the digital for convenience, which I dont normally do.

Will this game be subject or added to the Nintendo $100 coupon thing?

If so I could get this and Xeno blade X perhaps to save some bucks.

I want to be excited but I'm not, unfortunately. It looks kind of boring to be honest. Like a less interesting Mario Odyssey with sharper textures and worse art direction. Environmental destruction also doesn't look like a game changer in the footage I've seen.

This is just my opinion, I'm not trying to take away from anyone else's excitement. I was a big fan of the OG Switch and I just don't understand the hype yet. I hope all that will change in time.
Looks way more interesting than Odyssey IMO

Sort of in the same boat- Switch is a portable console, so convenience is key. Im also a physical guy and pretty opposed to digital. lol
That being said, if i dont like the game or ever decide to sell it- Nintendo games hold their value. So, i will remain physical despite the "inconvenience" here.

I've decided that also, physical will be cheaper and I dont need it at midnight anyway.

I'm sure my niece and nephew will get a S2 eventually so it'd be good to have the physical game sitting there for when that time comes... or maybe just when Im an old man and I can pull out an ol DK game and smash my worries away to distract me from the robot-war going on outside the house.

Does Costco do release day delivery? Might want to switch my pre order to Amazon
Every game I've ever pre-ordered from Costco has shipped on release day. In a few instances, they've arrived two days later. In one case the game arrived almost two weeks later.

I can't wait.

Could we have two consecutive game of the years be platformers?
I like Donkey Kong since game and watch days, NES, and gameboy. Donkey Kong Bananza will sure be good, but it's already a two way race between Ex33 and DS2. This two are just too epic and generational type of game. I think it will be DS2 the game of the year.

Expedition 33 will be hard to dethrone. I agree on that. DS2 on the other hand….. I doubt it makes top 3.

I might go physical for this one to save space for third party games even though its pretty small and I hate going to the store on my way home from work. Is this cart going to be easy to find in stores day of? I actually haven't checked stock for any S2 games, just got the bundled MKW.

I get that.

I'm going physical on all games that I think my daughter might want to play. She's going to get a Switch 2 for Christmas. Don't tell her!

I'm someone who absolutely loved Odyssey and I can safely say Bananza looks 100 times better.
Could you explain what looks so much better to you?
I loved transformations in Odyssey, this has only three. I loved the environmental variety, here it seems diminished.

There's the addition of destructible terrain, and stone-surfing looks like Zelda's shield surfing. But neither of those excite me very much because the destructible terrain just makes every environment I've seen look kind of the same, basically like a cave.

Also, DK's move set seems less diverse than Mario's. It's all about punching and breaking, and it looks like that gets old pretty quickly.

Climbing and surfing remind me of Zelda, and I don't see how this game does those better.

i personally love games with destructive environments, for me it never gets old and makes finding collectables more interesting than just finding moons in random place in Odyssey.

In DK Bananza you also have transformation power but what I like about it in DK is you can transform on the fly to help you both for combat and traversal.

I also disagree about DK having less move sets than Mario, heck like Mario using his hat to get extra jump, DK also use rocks to get extra jump.

Yup, Steamworld dig is almost therapeutic to dig around and find loot.

That's the world I want to live in.

(But I won't be mad when it's Expedition 33.)

All my Walmarts are too lazy to set up the Switch 2 demo station. It still says coming soon.
We are less than week away from full game comes out. Even we do get a demo I wont play it, at this point I just wait for the full to come out.

I work at a Walmart and they don't even have Switch 2 stuff out yet except for maybe a carrying case and screen protector for it. Still just the Switch 1 section and a big empty section next to it that's been empty for nearly 2 months.

3 more days
