Donkey Kong Bananza |OT| Red Faction Gorilla

Bananza, definitely "looks" better, but I'm afraid the wrecking mechanic will overshadow the platforming gameplay. Still looks like the best Nintendo exclusive in years
Why would it? The destruction mechanic is part DKB's core platforming mechanic.

Same way the Hat was for Odyssey.

WOAH, some leaks of certain aspects of the story that are very spoilery coming out now

Twenty six years... Twenty six I've waited!

Every generation since the N64 I eagerly awaited the next big Donkey Kong adventure. DK64 was full of bull ship but still fun enough and I just couldn't wait to see the DK crew evolve on the Gamecube and beyond.

Jungle Beat was super enjoyable for what it was and while Returns and Tropical Freeze were absolute bangers(as the kids might say), I was a bit disappointed they weren't 3D games. Now after so long Donkey Kong get's the big 3D adventure and with a 3D Mario sized budget to boot! Probably more with all that voice acting! If this game is going to be as good as I think it is, DK is set for a good long while. As a 3D game it's going to instantly be perceived as more ambitious, turning more heads than usual and boost the series sales higher than any of the 2D games could have dreamed. And good for me! The better this game does the more DK I get in the future!

Welp, time to avoid YouTube I guess. It's so close and I've pre-ordered it anyway. Would suck to get spoiled now.

Fot this type of game, spoiler does not matter. Its a platform game that focus on fun just like astrobot.
I definitely disagree with that. To me, spoling levels/level design and surprising mechanics is way worse than any story details.

I'd have loved to see the
Stickerbrush Symphony 2D level, with the included remade music,
for the first time when actually playing the game.

I agree ,spoiling level design and stage is not good. Story being spoiled for this type of game is negligible since this is not a RPG, or a story driven game like RE, Silent hill, or Death stranding.

Despite being super hyper for this I am also skint at the moment (and have plenty of other games to play still) so I have asked for this as a present on my birthday at the end of the month. I SHALL RESIST TEMPTATION UNTIL THEN.

Oh no, not a Switch 1 game. Those were all terrible.

Pre-ordered along with the new amiibo.

Are

Are they telling us that a first-gen game for a new console was originally in development for the previous generation‽

Surely this is something that has never happened before. Nintendoomed

Far from the end of the world or anything, but it just would have been nice if this had been built from the ground up for the hardware. MKW was meant for Switch at first too, and you can tell. Same with Donkey, visually I expected more.

It isn't exclusive to Nintendo or anything, I was disappointed when Xbox Series and PS5 barely had any first party games that made full use of its hardware. So with that said, i wonder when we'll see a game that is fully built for S2.

It's extremely common to have games start development for a platform and then finish it in another. in fact, Nintendo does it all the time - the difference is that normally they release crossgen versions (like with Zelda) but they decided not to this time, I guess so they could optimize it for Switch 2

Let me remind you The Last Guardian, one of most technical demanding game on PS4 started out as PS3 game then later on decided to make it for PS4.

This much more common in game development than you think.

It doesn't matter much to me as long as it's fun, but I get what you're saying. Nintendo really isn't known for throwing weight behind technical showcases these days.

This game, man Nintendo held so much on information even with 15 mins direct

The # of layer counts

Will be interesting to see reviewers on Wednesday dance around all the spoilers but still try to convey the hype

I'm trying to avoid any spoilers but happy to hear it's, supposedly, a meaty adventure.

Fukc I need a Switch 2. Welp..my PS5 Pro is looking good for a trade-in but I know soon as I futking do that then they'll be a flood of great titles and I'll miss out. I just know there's an OLED Switch 2 in the works so I'm gonna have to fight the urge!
