Is there a button I can set up that will cycle through all my units?
I'm trying to learn to play Meepo and if I had a button like this to easily set up a Poof! combo it would be a godsend.

System was gamed - there is room for KP!
:p

been playing a lot of Lina lately... disgustingly tempted to get it.

You can buy one for less than that if you trade keys for it. Last I checked, you could trade 10-11 keys for the Lina arcana which is about $25-26.40 if you bought the keys (steam market price of $2.40 per key, maybe less if you wait for prices to drop).

Very concise, though you failed to list KP's results.

IF you accept the premise that it's better to select teams than let them play it out at a qualifier, and IF you accept the premise that there should only be 8 teams competing in the Western Qualifier... the above closes the book on the matter.

However, there are those of us who are of the mind to see teams that are doing well compete, rather than have to have this sort of analysis to decide which teams are or are not worthy to compete for a spot at TI.

Ok...Kaipi's results? 1st in the JoinDota open in April. Versus 4FC. 2 roster changes since then. Gosuleague season 4 2nd place 6 months ago, with another 5 roster changes since then. Result before that? A year ago.

Sure, they take an individual series off of a big team every once and a while, but never when its a tournament the big teams care about. (With the exception of Empire in G1 League, but Empire kind of restructured because they were playing like garbage at that point.) They win in We Play, JD Masters, the EMS one mini-cups. (AL lost to them, but AL beat Na'Vi. I'd say AL's achievement is more impressive there.) They couldn't get through the SL prelims, they couldn't get through the G1 quals, etc.

Valve probably does not have a lot of confidence that this team will mesh well enough to stay together for another 3 months, and then focus hard enough in their bootcamp to have a chance to compete when all of the top teams will be playing their hardest.

Its nice to think that anybody could make their way into the competition of the best teams, but I'm with Valve in that I prefer to see that a team can stay together and perform for more than a month before they get a chance.

Or you could be a horrible scumbag person and script it

Still isn't going to cover all of the aspects of micro though. Tab+Poofing is the easy part, it's keeping them all alive and pulling them back at the right times is the hard part.

I really wish the main Meepo had some kind of obvious indicator who he is. It would be nice be able to just easily pick him out, click, and use Blink Dagger or whatever. I guess there's the option of looking in the upper left corner or having a hotkey, but that's kind of a pain in the thick of things, and when positioning is an issue and you don't remember the main Meepo's position, it's difficult.

This is just speaking from experience the couple of times I played Meepo
Feedpo
. I did school the bots on Unfair with him though.

I still think Visage is a good place to start for learning Micro.

You're right, so Mouz, Empire, EG, and DD shouldn't have been invited to the qualifiers right?

All the teams you listed in your previous post make the argument for an expanded qualifier stronger. Why's it hurt to have a 12 or 16 man qualifier? What's there to lose? What's negative about that? This is what I don't understand about people that are so defensive of Valve, that they can even find fault with adding a few extra teams to each qualifier. What's the harm?

I have Tab set up as my Cour. I'll reset things to default and see what its looking like.

It might help to put 3 buttons next to each other mapped to courier.
I have 8/9/0 set up so that 8 picks up, 9 return to me, 0 speeed boost.

The default now is F2 courier select, F3 grab items and bring to you. I stick with that and it works well.

I just hit F2 and use QWERDF for the courier abilities/commands.

I have muscle memory to just hit F2, R, F1 (select hero). All the courier stuff is muscle memory to me now.

I think my largest issue with micro (something that playing Visage was helping with) is that when you switch units, you have to make long movement clicks, not just the short clicks in front of you like you usually do if you're playing most single-unit heroes. Also more liberal use of A+click is required too, especially on Meepo. I don't necessarily do that with the Familiars because I don't want to reveal them until I'm ready to strike.

Just did 3 bot matches with Meepo and got my ass kicked everytime. I feel like I'm learning, though, but man is microing hard.

How do you guys build Elder Titan?

I normally go for the initiator/support build with mana boots wands and urns, and Spirit/Echo first so I have enough to combo whenever ult is up.

I've been watching some games and notice people doing carry builds, like armlets and shadowblades and skill EchoStomp really late. These guys would spend most of there time farming using spirit to scout jungle/lane and buff themselves. The several I watched, ET managed to outcarry the enemy and their own hardcarries...

Well in Warcraft 3 you had up to 3 heroes and 30ish units. It was kind of assumed that Dota players had to have micro experience if they bought WC3.

not sure, didn't get a chance to try it.
their mirana leaping away after being ruptured was pretty amusing.

Might have to do with time. Maybe they don't want to cram that much stuff in the course of a week. You'd have to plan for the worst case scenarios per match and there may might not be a reasonable amount to allow for that many teams.

Just speculation obviously.

In the previous thread there was a rumoured mass balance patch with every single hero receiving a buff mostly. Something to change the meta game.

Is Valve/IceFrog willing to make such changes in one foul swoop? Was this a thing in Dota? Is it even possible?

If you're talking about those obviously fake patch notes, then Icefrog isn't going to do something like that because a lot of those changes were dumb.

Nor is a single patch going to affect every hero, most likely, because a lot of heroes are in a comfortable position in the metagame right now (like Night Stalker and Sand King.)

Oh yeah, the way he usually patches is along the lines of 50 heroes get flat out buffs, 15 get minor adjustments both ways, and 10 get flat out nerfed from minor (5% less cleave!), to major (Wolves now have 200 HP, down from 400. Max 320 HP, down from 550). 6.76 and 6.77 were a bit small, something along the lines of 6.75 is what I am expecting (95 of 108 heroes got changes)

All we know is radical changes in 6.78 and 6.78b will aim to fix them. All before TI3.

And after he realizes EE is going to TI3 to stalk him and kick his ass.

Decent first Mirana game for me.

Don't know how much I like her since she is so squishy, late game she can ult, shoot a good 4-5 sec arrow, and then pretty much sit back and peck on some equally squishy supports or something. Once I got my deso after my Yasha I was able to take on pretty much anyone cept LS.

Also CK with an MKB but only a drum/treads for atk speed was so bad.

Mirana reminds me of Weaver, some pretty good escape/survivability but man that dmg is horrible. If you don't go for deso/MKB your are not going to kill anything.

My first match in two weeks. Meh. Think I'll stick to MM with GAF players for a while. The Chen on my team fed right off the bat and raged at me for not helping him, and spent the majority of the match fucking off in the jungle and not helping us at all. Venge and Titan refused to buy wards so Drow had to basically play support; I should have commended that player, come to think of it. At least he tried to counter Riki/Nyx. Their Ogre + Nyx + BM stunlock combo shut me down in several teamfights, but I was able to get some good kills with Chrono.
