Yeah, all the new art in the pipeline/polycount/reddit is kindof medicore compared to last year. Like yeah it's nice, but eeeee not really. Not gonna pay $18 for it but if it drops well ok, I might trade a RR to finish the set.

New player? Yup you can play by yourself offline with 4 bot teammates against 5 enemy bots with varying levels of difficulty.
Feeling lucky - you can play online in a multitude of configurations. Co-op bots match pits you with 4 online people vs 5 bots of varying levels.
Custom game allows you to play any combination of 1 versus nobody to full 5 versus 5 with or without cheats and varying levels of difficulty and human or bots.
7 in a row.

Tech, we all know as soon as you are stuck with a Sniper on your team that goes mana boots youll be in here raging about it.

Yeah I saw someone mention in cyborgmatt's comments that it's supposedly based on WC3 NS. I like homages like Sven's sword but this one is prettyyy bad mainly the helm which is probably the biggest deviation from the original design anyway. Hope they change it because Yikes!

I'd say it's nowhere near Timebreaker. The ashbringer wannabe isn't extracted/taken from a commercial game like timebreaker was.

If this was the weapon juggs used in wc3 dota I'd be okay with it. It's weird though seeing as Valve has been trying to distance dota 2 from the wc3 version and then has items like this in the files.
I got lucky and ended up loving to play a hero that I liked the look of. (Lina)

Am I missing something? The orb and the (very rough) shape of the blade are all they have in common. Every single other detail is different.
About 150 games or so. You really just need to play lots of different heroes, because you'll never know which ones click with you. Once you find a couple heroes you like, ask in the thread for heroes that are similar. I enjoyed playing meepo, so someone suggested Chen, who I ended up loving.
If you can pin down what sort of things you like to do in the game, you can find the right hero easier. There's melee and ranged, gankers and lane pushers, supports and carries, healers and nukers, etc.

How does guild party work? I dont wanna waste other gaffers time by joining them at party but lag the whole game because of different servers. How can I know which server the party is going to play?
Don't stick to one hero. You need to be able to play every role. Play all the heroes.

That Nightstalker set is amazingly horrible. Might buy it just because I think it might have a decent chance of being the next Alpine Ursa.

I have been playing with bots ever since I got my dota 2 invite. first at easy. then scaled up as I try to learn the game. Zeus was my first hero to give me a win against bots (easy).
I lost a lot afterwards (increasing difficulty) but learned from each defeat. then just the past 3-4 days been finally playing on unfair difficulty. I do not recall a win with Zeus, instead I got all my wins with Sniper or Shadow Fiend. Fond of Sniper atm.
Today I finally decided to take a gander at online. here are my results:
My first game online, 1st blood! Seems Sniper will be my mainstay for the time being. He is ridiculously easy to play with. Gonna try other heroes soon as I get comfortable with them vs bots.
Only got some questions.... is it all downhill from here and how do I upload my matches on youtube?
